Yorkshire Pudding with a pistachio twist branded 'dessert of the summer'
Pistachio is having a moment right now - with people obsessing over Dubai chocolate, pistachio lattes, and more. Now, it has been added to a roast dinner treat and fans are loving it
People have been left divided over this unique dessert involving a sweet treat and a Yorkshire pudding, with the two freezer items said to be 'the perfect combination of sweet and savory'.
Pistachio has fast been becoming the most popular treat to add into foods lately - from coffee shops selling pistachio lattes, the viral Dubai chocolate, ice cream, pistachio nut butter, pistachio cookies, and more. So much so, that a growing internet frenzy for pistachio-flavoured has reportedly causes a global shortage of pistachios.
Recently, popular food page This Is Planet Food on Instagram who create "out of this world recipes", shared a unique treat - a Yorkshire pudding with pistachio ice cream, chocolate sauce and crushed pistachios. "Why didn't we think of this sooner?!," This Is Planet Food said.
A video of the delight went viral online. The food page added: "Yorkies... but make them dessert. Air-fried until crisp, stuffed with creamy pistachio ice cream, then topped with cracking chocolate sauce and crushed pistachios.
"The taste? Think croissant-meets-waffle vibes. Hot, cold, crispy, gooey, crunchy. This might just be the dessert of the summer."
The author added: "Pistachio is having its moment. Yorkshires are forever. Put them together? Absolute perfections!"
To make the treat, add your Yorkshire puddings to the air fryer and cook at 200C for 5-6 mins until crispy and golden. While they are hot, add a scoop of pistachio ice cream into the middle of the Yorkshire pudding.
If you fancy, drizzle over chocolate cracking sauce and top with chopped pistachios for that extra crunch. "Serve immediately for the ultimate hot/cold dessert moment," This Is Planet Food added.
The recipe has divided food fans. "Next time you are in Spain we will make summer yorkies," one said as they tagged a friend.
One other shared: "I put Quality Street in the mini ones and put them in the air fryer." "Yep, Yorkshire pud tastes like a waffle," insisted one other.
"Well now thank the good lord someone is talkin sense at last," another commented after viewing the video.
Another pointed out: "My Nana used to eat Yorkshire pudding with Jam on or sometimes just a sprinkle of sugar." Another agreed and added: "My Nan always put sugar in her yorkies mixture before cooking."

Harris backs Knights to put on a show at Wembley
Winger Liam Harris said York Knights can show they are "a Super League side in the making" with victory in the 1895 Cup at Wembley Stadium on Saturday (17:45 BST).The North Yorkshire outfit will battle it out with fellow Championship side Featherstone Rovers for the second- and third-tier knockout trophy after the Challenge Cup final between Warrington Wolves and Hull while Harris expects that plenty of fans will not stay to watch the aftershow to the main event, he said they should if they want to see a top-flight side of the future."Outside looking in, people probably turn their nose up at this competition," Harris told BBC Radio York."It is played after the [main] game and all the fans have left and all that sort of stuff, but to us, looking at it internally, it is the only knockout competition we can win so to us it's everything."That is what is on offer and we'll go for it. If and when we get the job done on the weekend it is a fair step in a positive direction for the club, and that's very important to us as well."I believe York is a Super League club in the making and it's only a matter of time [before we become one]."York Knights have spent the last six and a half seasons in the second-tier Championship, finishing fourth, sixth and sixth in the past three currently sit in fourth place in the table, four places and four points ahead of Saturday's opponents Featherstone Rovers, who are eighth.

Coronation Street legend ‘confirms' Emmerdale crossover role
Jack P Shepherd who has played the iconic character of mischievous David Platt since 2000 has teased he could be taking part in the Corrie and Emmerdale special. The Celebrity Big Brother winner appears to be the first soap star to "confirm" their involvement in the one-hour segment, announced by ITV last month. When catching up with Digital Spy at the British Soap Awards recently, Jack let slip the exciting news on the red carpet. When the actor was asked if he will be involved in the 'unprecedented' episode, which will see characters from both soaps come together in a celebration of the soap genre, he 'confidently' replied: "Yes!" But Jack's Weatherfield co-star Ben Price (David's brother Nick Tilsley), interrupted: "Are you meant to say that?" Jack responded: "I don't know!" Ben then advised his on-screen sibling not to give any details away, to which Jack continued: "I don't know if I am. Not for a fact, I don't. 'The big key hitters, I think they might have been told. There's rumours – and I'm sniffing that I might be in the periphery." He then joked: "With my Yorkshire accent. I think I'm in it, talking Yorkshire and they're like: 'Where are you from? Are you from Bradford?'" Jack's soap tease might be the news some viewers have been wanting for, as one posted on X: "corrie and emmerdale crossover episode. I need david platt & ross barton , charity & tracy , mandy & carla oh the possibilities." The "mash-up" of two of the nation's most beloved soaps is set to air on ITV next year and will be the first of its kind in British soap history. It will mark the broadcaster's new 'power hour' of soap which begins on ITV1 and STV in January 2026. ITV said the producers, scriptwriters and production teams have 'conceived an ingenious way of linking the two universes, but with characters then returning to the soaps they are renowned for inhabiting in Manchester and Yorkshire'. This month, Corrie and Emmerdale fans will be given the chance to vote for two characters (one from each soap) that they would like to see interact in a scene.
