One of the biggest games of the season is coming up on Saturday as the Chicago Sky host the Indiana Fever in the latest chapter of their growing rivalry.

The anticipation for this upcoming clash has become so immense that the Sky have had to make a big decision ahead of the game. In order to accommodate the fans who are eager to witness the much-awaited matchup, the Sky decided to transfer the game from their usual stadium at Wintrust Arena to the iconic United Center.
The move allows Chicago to accommodate more than double the fans in the United Center's near-21,000-seat capacity.
Sky head coach Tyler Marsh sounded off on the venue shift as the first-year shot-caller expressed what this means for the team and the WNBA in general.
"More than anything, it's about where the game is growing, is going, and growing to," he said. "And so to have more eyes and more attention, and that thirst of basketball and good basketball, I think that only helps improve our game.

"And to be a part of that is certainly fulfilling for myself. But I know that our staff and our team are super excited to get in front of our fans and be able to give them a product they could be proud of.

"And so the grand scheme of it, I think that it's huge for the league. I think that we've seen the incremental growth over the last few years, especially, and where it's continuing to grow. So I'm excited about it."

The downside of Saturday's contest is that Caitlin Clark will be watching the game from the sidelines. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year will miss her fourth straight contest due to a lingering quad injury, which will force her to cheer for her team from the bench in Saturday's big game.

Nevertheless, the fact that the Sky are still expected to pack United Center even with Clark sidelined speaks volumes of, as Marsh put it, the massive growth of women's basketball.

Meanwhile, Lexie Hull continues to step up and is making an early case for Most Improved Player. She finished the win over Washington with 14 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Indiana's win on Tuesday broke a three-game losing streak for the Fever, which has struggled a bit with Clark out of the lineup. As for Chicago, the Sky haven't taken much of a leap forward this year despite trading the No. 3 pick to the Mystics in a win-now move to acquire Ariel Atkins. However, Chicago has won two in a row, so maybe things are turning around, or maybe Chicago just got lucky to play back-to-back games against a struggling Dallas Wings team, winning once with Paige Bueckers in the lineup and once with her sidelined by a concussion. Paige Bueckers Leads WNBA in Unfortunate Stat After Wings' Loss to Chicago Sky
Paige Bueckers Leads WNBA in Unfortunate Stat After Wings' Loss to Chicago Sky originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Dallas Wings suffered a narrow 97-92 defeat to the Chicago Sky on Thursday night, despite a standout performance from Arike Ogunbowale, who scored a season-high 37 points. The Wings briefly took the lead with just over two minutes remaining, but the Sky responded with a decisive 6-0 run to close out the game. Advertisement On a night when star forward Angel Reese had just two baskets, the Sky were led by Kamilla Cardoso, who finished with 23 points, while Courtney Vandersloot set all-time franchise records for points and field goals, contributing 13 points and nine assists. Paige Bueckers, the Wings' rookie guard, added 15 points in the loss, continuing her solid start to the season. Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers (5).© Jerome Miron-Imagn Images Through her first five games, Bueckers has averaged 14.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game, leading all rookies in assists. However, a concerning statistic has emerged: Bueckers has yet to score a single point in clutch situations this season. In nine clutch minutes this season, Bueckers has missed all four of her field goal attempts (via WNBA Stats). Bueckers is tied atop the WNBA for fewest clutch baskets among players who have attempted at least four field goal attempts in those situations. Washington Mystics guard Jade Melbourne is the only other player with four attempts and zero makes. Advertisement Entering the WNBA with significant expectations, Bueckers was the first overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft after a stellar collegiate career at UConn. She made history by becoming the first player in WNBA history to record at least 60 points and 30 assists in her first five games. The Wings will have an opportunity to bounce back and address these concerns in a rematch against the Sky on Saturday night in Dallas. In the closing minutes, the Sky, led by Kamilla Cardoso's 23-point, eight-rebound performance, executed crucial plays on both ends of the court to seal the win, showcasing their resilience and determination. Advertisement Angel Reese played a pivotal role in the victory. With an overall rebounding average of 13.0 per game this season, Reese is on pace to reach 1,000 career rebounds by August, a testament to her relentless effort and positioning.
