
Stabbing attack in Yagoona, Sydney: New details emerge after man went to park to meet up with a girl
A young man suffered multiple stab wounds when he was attacked by a group of 10 males in a park, where he had planned to meet up with a girl.
Emergency services were called to Auburn Street in Yagoona in Sydney 's south-west shortly after 8pm on Sunday night, following reports of an injured man with stab wounds.
Police were told that the man was assaulted by a group of males in a park on Nobbs Road before he fled across the train tracks to nearby Auburn Street.
The man, 21, was reportedly at the park to meet up with a girl when he was ambushed by the group.
He then reportedly knocked on doors begging for help before emergency services arrived.
Footage from the scene showed the man lying on a stretcher in the back of an ambulance being treated for stab wounds to his thigh.
He was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident, which is believed to be a targeted attack.
Detectives and forensic officers spent much of the night scouring the cordoned off street for evidence.
The group remains on the run.

Murder probe launched as woman, 93, is found dead in idyllic seaside town - as police arrest 65-year-old man
A 65-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 93-year-old woman was found dead in an idyllic seaside town. Officers and paramedics were called to an address on Cherrill Gardens, Bude, at around 1pm yesterday amid a concern for welfare report. Detectives believe the deceased and the individual in police custody, from the Bude area, were known to each other. Paramedics pronounced the elderly lady dead on scene. Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Rob Smith, said: 'We are currently carrying out inquiries to establish what happened in this very sad case. 'A cordon has been set up to allow for a thorough investigation of the scene to take place. 'It is believed that the man and the woman were known to each other. 'The community should be reassured that this is being treated as an isolated incident and at this time we are not seeking anyone else in connection to the death. 'There will be a heightened police presence in the area over the coming days as inquiries are ongoing, and I would encourage anyone, if you have any concerns, to contact officers from the local neighbourhood policing team.' The woman's next of kin have been informed. Witnesses have been asked to contact the police on 101 quoting reference number 50250165800.
