Bumrah not at the Oval: Indian bowlers missing his guidance in 5th Test?

In a major step on Friday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that ace Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah—who was earlier rested from the playing 11 for the ongoing England vs India fifth Test of the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy due to workload management—has been released from the squad in between the match early in the day. Bumrah was earlier replaced by Prasidh Krishna in India's playing XI for the Oval Test.

Tachikawa joins Jamil's scheme of things at Durand Cup
After earning two wins in two matches in the ongoing Durand Cup, Jamshedpur FC have got a further boost in the form of Japanese midfielder Rei Tachikawa. He joined the squad at Flatlet in Jamshedpur on Sunday ahead of their last group encounter against debutants 1 Ladakh FC on Friday which will also be Khalid Jamil's first match at the helm since being declared India head coach. Tachikawa has been with the club since 2023 when he joined from Maltese side Sirens FC, where he made a name for himself. He also scored the lone goal against Mumbai City FC in the semifinals of Super Cup to make it to the final of the event for the first time. While Tachikawa will no doubt hope to make a promising start to the season for JFC, all eyes will be on coach Jamil.
