The June 2025 quarter earnings season showcased impressive results from small-cap companies, with 91 firms reporting robust growth in both sales and profits—each recording over 25% year-on-year growth. This highlights the strong momentum and resilience within the small-cap space during the period.Out of these, 33 stocks have surged more than 25% in the last one-year. But the real head-turners are a dozen stocks that not only delivered exceptional financial results but also generated returns between 80% and 160% in just 12 months, and three of them turned multibaggers.At the top of this elite list is Paradeep Phosphates , a fertilizer player in the chemicals sector. The stock has skyrocketed 162% in one year, driven by solid fundamentals. The company reported Rs 3754 crore in June quarter sales (up 58% YoY), but the real kicker is its profit explosion of 3950%, touching Rs 256 crore. This could indicate a powerful turnaround or operating leverage playing out dramatically.Next is Ravindra Energy , which posted the highest YoY sales growth of 616% among the pack. The stock price rose 102%, mirroring the scale-up in operations. With profits up 315% YoY to Rs 24 crore, it's clear that this power generation company is seeing both volume and margin expansion.Sarda Energy & Minerals has turned heads with a 101% stock price jump, backed by a 78% increase in sales and a 118% growth in profits, reaching Rs 423 crore. This iron & steel producer is clearly riding the infrastructure and commodity wave, benefiting from both demand and pricing tailwinds.In the alcohol sector, Tilaknagar Industries has shown a 96% return over the year. It posted a strong Rs 864 crore in sales (30% YoY growth) and an impressive 121% jump in profit, reaching Rs 89 crore — suggesting margin expansion, possibly through premium product mix or operational efficiency. Manorama Industries , operating in the solvent extraction agri space, reported 117% sales growth and a 247% surge in profit. Consumer durables player Timex Group India delivered a staggering 504% growth in profit, albeit from a low base, reaching Rs 15 crore. With sales up 55%. Shaily Engineering Plastics (Plastic Products) surged 84%, backed by 136% profit growth. Tanfac Industries share price gained 84%, supported by an 85% rise in sales and 71% increase in profits. Goldiam International , 83% stock price growth, deserves a mention with consistent 53% profit growth and presence in the export-oriented jewelry segment. V2 Retail climbed 89%, with sales and profit growing by 52% and 51% respectively. Lumax Auto Technologies , a key auto ancillary player, rose 84%, showing consistent demand growth in the auto components space.Overall, these companies have demonstrated impressive year-on-year growth in both sales and profits, while many have significantly increased investor wealth. For investors seeking fundamentally sound opportunities in the smallcap segment, this list provides a valuable starting point for further analysis. The emphasis on indigenous capabilities, whether in high-tech sectors like semiconductors, defence systems such as the Sudarshan Chakra Mission, or renewable and energy self-reliance, reinforces the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. "Furthermore, the success of Operation Sindoor reflects India's growing defence capabilities and underscores the imperative of safeguarding national and economic security through enhanced indigenous systems, accelerated development of advanced military technologies, and self-reliance in critical defence infrastructure and supply chains," the statement added.. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a 103-minute Independence Day address from the ramparts of the Red Fort, marked a watershed moment for its sweeping articulation of a self-reliant, strategically autonomous, and technologically empowered nation. Framed as a roadmap to a Viksit Bharat by 2047, the speech blended policy announcements with ideological clarity, underscoring India's transformation from dependence to global confidence. Among the most ambitious announcements was the rollout of India's first Made in India semiconductor chip by year-end, alongside the opening of the nuclear sector to private players. PM Modi emphasised that self-reliance must extend to jet engines, social media platforms, fertilisers, and pharmaceuticals. The National Critical Minerals Mission and the Deepwater Exploration Mission were presented as foundational steps toward securing energy and industrial autonomy, with 1,200 mineral sites under exploration and offshore energy resources being tapped to reduce foreign fuel dependence.

Perplexity AI, led by Indian-origin CEO Aravind Srinivas, has made an $34.5 billion (over Rs 302152 crore) all-cash bid to acquire Google Chrome. However there was no reply by Google so far about it. Amid this competition only on Thursday, Google announced that 'Flight Deals,' its new AI-powered search feature within Google Flights, will be launched over the next week in the US, Canada, and India. In a blog post, the company said the tool is aimed at flexible travellers focused on finding the best savings for their next trip. The rollout will happen automatically, with no opt-in required, it added. Google Flights Launches New AI Search Tool The feature can be accessed through the Flight Deals page, or via the top-left menu on Google Flights, the flight search engine that helps users find and compare airline tickets. 'Instead of playing with different dates, destinations and filters to uncover the best deals, you can just describe when, where and how you'd like to travel — as though you're talking to a friend — and Flight Deals will take care of the rest,' it said. Citing an example, it said one can start with searching for something like 'week-long trip this winter to a city with great food, nonstop only' or '10 day ski trip to a world-class resort with fresh powder'. What Will Google's New AI Tool Do? 'You'll see the best bargains available that match your search, including destinations you may not have previously considered,' it said. Flight Deals uses Google's advanced AI to understand the nuances of what users are looking for and identifies matching destinations. Thereafter, it taps into real-time Google Flights data to quickly display relevant, up-to-date options from hundreds of airlines and booking sites. 'We're launching Flight Deals in beta to gather feedback and explore how AI can improve travel planning. SC Imposes Rs 1 lakh Cost On BSNL For Filing ‘Totally Frivolous Plea
New Delhi: The Supreme Court has castigated Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) for filing a 'totally frivolous' petition against a Madhya Pradesh High Court ruling in favour of a man seeking compassionate appointment. A Bench of Justices Ahsanuddin Amanullah and S.V.N. Bhatti, expressing strong displeasure over BSNL's decision to bring the matter before the apex court, imposed exemplary costs of Rs 1 lakh on the state-owned enterprise. The Justice Amanullah-led Bench directed BSNL to pay Rs 1 lakh directly to the respondent, Pavan Thakur, within two weeks and to file proof of payment with the registry, warning that non-compliance would invite 'appropriate orders.' 'In the event of non-compliance, the registry shall place the matter before this Court for appropriate orders,' it said. The apex court further allowed the state-owned enterprise to recover the amount 'from the officer(s) on whose advice this petition (before the apex court) has been filed.' 'We find that this is one of those cases that are totally frivolous in nature. In fact, we are shocked as to why such a petition has been filed before this Court,' the Justice Amanullah-led Bench observed in its order. The case stems from the death of the respondent's father, a BSNL peon, in 2000, followed by the death of his mother, who had been appointed on compassionate grounds in 2009. He applied for a compassionate appointment in 2010, but the Circle High Power Committee rejected his claim. In an order passed in 2018, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) set aside BSNL's order and directed Pavan Thakur's appointment. BSNL challenged the decision before the Madhya Pradesh High Court, but its petition was dismissed in April this year. In its judgment, the High Court found that 'the respondent, who is not living in his own house and is living in a temporary jhuggi, is entitled to some points towards residence' and that even awarding 'only one point' under the residence head would make him eligible. This prompted BSNL to file a special leave petition (SLP) before the Supreme Court, which has now been dismissed with exemplary costs.
