Thakur also underlined the government's focus on political empowerment of women, citing the passage of the Constitution Act, 2023 or the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which mandates one-third reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies.
On the education front, she said schemes like Samagra Shiksha, construction of gender-segregated toilets, and the Vigyan Jyoti initiative are focused on improving enrolment and participation of girls, particularly in STEM fields.
Responding specifically to the impact of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme on India's gender ranking, Thakur said it had transformed from a policy into a "national movement."
She said the scheme has contributed to behavioural change, with the sex ratio at birth improving from 918 in 2014-15 to 930 in 2023-24 and gross enrolment of girls in secondary education rising from 75.51 per cent to 78 per cent during the same period.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has commended the success of 'She Leads Andhra' pilot project implemented in Kuppam Assembly Constituency. The project enabled 93 rural SHG women to generate ₹15 lakh in business in just 90 days through digital commerce, said Project Director, Kuppam Area Development Authority (KADA), Vikar Marmat. Speaking to the media here on Sunday (August 3, 2025), the official said that the initiative, led by Frontier Markets in partnership with the Kuppam Area Development Authority (KADA), leverages AI-driven 'Meri Saheli App' to equip rural women with the tools to become digitally enabled storefront owners. Based on the success of the pilot project, the Chief Minister announced an action plan to expand the project across the State. While the first phase of the project targeted 30,000 women in Chittoor district, the scheme is expected to cover over one lakh women across Andhra Pradesh during a three-year action plan, covering 50 lakh households, Mr. Marmat added. The project replicated the proven success of Frontier Markets' national model 'She Leads Bharat Udyam,' which has already empowered over 15,000 women in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The project took shape after Frontier Markets Founder Ajaita Shah and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's meeting at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The initiative was later recognised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an effective move towards empowering rural women by grounding the strategic technology-enabled commerce modules, Mr. Marmat said.

Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said the mining policy being framed by the Centre would provide ease of doing business as all clearances will be given in three months so that the extraction process starts in the fourth said all bottlenecks would be removed under the new mining policy. The Minister for Road Transport and Highways was speaking at the "India@100 charting Vidarbha's journey to a Developed India" in Nagpur. Talking about various developments taking place in Gadchiroli district in Vidarbha in the fields of mining and steel, he said a mining policy was being framed by the central government. "This mining policy came up for an approval in the cabinet meeting recently. However, the prime minister was not fully convinced about it and after I gave some suggestions, he (the PM) directed the cabinet secretary to discuss and review the policy with me," he said. Gadkari said he suggested that the policy should allow the mining process to start as soon as said he suggested that the environmental clearance should be given in a maximum of one month."Similarly, the state and central government will give all the necessary clearances. Accordingly, all required permissions will be given in three months and then production should start in the fourth month," he said."This will create ease of doing business as all bottlenecks will be removed...," he said. Talking about creating more employment opportunities in Vidarbha, the minister recalled the statements of Mahatma Gandhi and country's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru. "Nehruji used to say that we need maximum production, and Gandhiji used to say that we need maximum production with the involvement of maximum number of people," he said.
