After being near-impossible to watch for years, one of the greatest horror movies ever made is streaming free - just in time to watch the sequel
As 28 Years Later keeps leaving its mark at the box office, the original 28 Days Later is finally available to stream. Danny Boyle's beloved 2002 classic, considered one of the best horror movies of all time, can be found on Pluto TV (or BBC iPlayer in the UK) right now, and the timing couldn't be better.
As fans of the zombie saga know, 28 Days Later hasn't been easy to find over the years. Through several periods it was near impossible to find on any streaming platforms and on-demand, so the only way to watch it was to get hold of a physical copy in second-hand stores.
With the long-awaited sequel around the corner, the film was finally made available for digital purchase at the end of last year, and now you can watch it on Pluto TV, a free streaming service with ads owned by Paramount.
You don't really need to watch the original film in order to enjoy 28 Years Later, but you should. Over two decades ago, Danny Boyle's grimy horror 28 Days Later set a new standard for zombie apocalypse movies, blending inspirations from John Wyndham's sci-fi horror novel The Day of the Triffids and the sharp social commentary of George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead.
Written by Ex Machina and Annihilation director Alex Garland, the film follows a courier (played by the now Oscar winner Cillian Murphy) who wakes up from a coma in a London hospital 28 days after a deadly virus breaks out. Soon he discovers that said virus has turned almost everyone into killer zombies, and his reality has become one of pure survival.
After the forgettable 2007 sequel 28 Weeks Later, Boyle and Garland reunited to helm the recently released 28 Years Later, which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes. The story picks up almost three decades after the outbreak and follows those still living amongst the infected.
Murphy is set to reprise his role in the upcoming sequel 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, which continues the story with the newcomer star Alfie Williams.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is making some significant changes to Star Paths ahead of its next update to make it more engaging for 'those who play week over week'

Ahead of the new Emotional Rescue update, Disney Dreamlight Valley has announced that some significant changes are being made to its current Star Path format. As detailed on the Disney Dreamlight Valley blog, these changes are being made to help make the Star Path feel more accessible for every player, regardless of where they are in the valley and how much progress they have made within the game. The most significant update is the addition of Routine Duties. These won't take the place of the standard Star Path duties, but add an additional layer of challenge to work through to get ahold of more rewards. These duties refresh each week, giving you even more to work on, and follow a different theme. The blog stated that these additional duties were initially designed for "those who play week over week" since standard duties alongside those in the base game can become slightly repetitive. Also linking to duties you'll complete throughout the Star Path, any that relate to specific characters or things you unlock in the game, like restaurant orders or features like Dreamsnaps, have been removed for now. This will definitely help brand-new players get stuck in with the Star Path without encountering any roadblocks because they simply haven't got to that point yet. Even with as many hours in the game as I have, there are still characters from realms I haven't unlocked yet, which have stopped me from completing a number of tasks in the past. Plus, if you were grinding the Star Path out at the last minute, these could also effectively roadblock your progress and make it impossible to finish in time, so I'm glad they're finally gone. However, this doesn't apply to brand-new characters introduced with updates and new Star Paths, which are Joy and Sadness for this update. Since new characters roll out alongside new Star Paths, it makes sense that most players will be racing to unlock them. If you're not the type of player to wait with baited breath the second another character is announced, then having these exclusive duties might be the push you need to head into their realm and make your way through their friendship quests—especially now you don't have the added pressure of completing challenges for other characters too. Finally, each Star Path will have an additional five days tacked onto the end, so you've got plenty of opportunities to complete your duties. There's a 48-hour grace period once these five days are up to give you a chance to spend all your Moonstones on prizes if you haven't already done so. Yes, I know, this is a reduction from the previous grace period, but with five additional days to complete the entire Path, we can't complain too much if we run out of time, since there comes a point where it's our own doing.

Scream 7 star Jasmin Savoy Brown hopes the horror franchise's Core Four are reunited on screen someday "even if it's 20 years from now"

Scream star Jasmin Savoy Brown has said that she hopes the franchises's 'Core Four' will be reunited someday, despite her former co-stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega not returning for the upcoming seventh installment. "I can't imagine making this movie without Melissa and Jenna," Brown said in a new book, Your Favorite Scary Movie: How the Scream Films Rewrote the Rules of Horror by Ashley Cullins (via Entertainment Weekly). "It won't be the same. On the flip side, I do care about this character so much, and I care so much about the people that care about her. I hope that someday – even if it's 20 years from now – the Core Four gets back together on screen." Savoy Brown has played Mindy Meeks-Martin since 2022's Scream. Making up the rest of the Core Four is Mindy's twin brother Chad (Mason Gooding), their friend Tara (Ortega), and Tara's older sister Sam (Melissa Barrera). Alongside Savoy Brown and Gooding, the cast of Scream 7 includes Neve Campbell's return as Sidney Prescott, along with Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers and David Arquette as Dewey Riley – despite his character meeting an untimely end in 2022's Scream. And he's not the only one: Matthew Lillard, who played Stu Macher in the first Scream movie, and Scott Foley, who played Roman Bridger in Scream 3, are also both returning for round seven despite both their characters dying in previous installments. Ex-ViX Exec Rodrigo Mazón Joins Paramount As Head Of Latin America And Canada
Former ViX and Netflix executive Rodrigo Mazón has been named Paramount's Head of Latin America and Canada direct-to-consumer operations. He started this week in the newly created position. Based in Los Angeles, Mazón will oversee all initiatives, operations, strategy and programming across two high-priority regions for both Paramount+ and Pluto TV. His focus will be on execution, market development and platform alignment, working closely with Paramount+'s international general manager Marco Nobili and Pluto TV's international general manager Olivier Jollet. He will place particular emphasis on developing Spanish-language content for the streaming platforms, though the company has not announced specific projects yet. Mazón will report directly to Paramount streaming chief Cindy Holland. José Calderoni, currently Paramount's senior VP of streaming for Latin America, will report to Mazón and continue focusing on day-to-day operations for both platforms in the region. The seasoned exec brings extensive streaming expertise in scaling businesses and local content operations across Latin America. Most recently, Mazón served as TelevisaUnivision's chief content officer of streaming after joining Univision in 2021 (before its merger with Televisa) as executive vice president and general manager of SVOD. He was brought on to help launch TelevisaUnivision's global streaming service, which later evolved into ViX. He stepped down from ViX in May 2024. Previously, Mazón spent six years at Netflix as VP of Content for Latin America, where he overlapped with Holland. Before Netflix, he worked at Hulu as director of content acquisition. Mazón's appointment follows the August 7, 2025 closing of the $8 billion Skydance Media-Paramount merger and subsequent leadership changes. David Ellison, now chairman and CEO of the new Paramount Skydance, outlined his vision to create "an all-star executive leadership team, united by a shared vision and empowered with the resources and creative autonomy to boldly drive our business forward" in his message marking "Day One of a new Paramount." The move reflects Paramount's strategy to continue investing and scaling globally, with the company emphasizing that market-specific direct-to-consumer leadership is critical for growth. Latin America and Canada are identified as uniquely positioned for expansion, building on the strong foundation already established by Paramount+ and Pluto TV in these regions.
