Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry is always on the hunt for players to add to the roster, especially as the days dwindle to the start of the NFL season. That is especially true at wide receiver, where the Browns have one established player in Jerry Jeudy, a promising player in Cedric Tillman, a redemption project in Diontae Johnson, and some hopefuls in Jamari Thrash and Gage Larvadain. Berry added another player to the group this morning with the reported signing of wide receiver Isaiah Bond, who the Browns inked to a three-year fully guaranteed contract worth just north of $3 million, according to Mary Kay Cabot at Bond was originally projected to be a Day Two selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, but went undrafted after facing sexual assault allegations. Late last week, those charges were 'no-billed' by a grand jury in Texas, and he no longer faces further charges. That opened the door for the Browns to add the speedy Bond to a wide receiver room that has opportunities for another playmaker. Bond spent two seasons at Alabama before transferring to Texas in 2025. In his one season with the Longhorns, Bond had 34 receptions for 540 receiving yards and five touchdowns while averaging 15.9 yards per reception. For his collegiate career, he appeared in 41 games and finished with 99 receptions for 1,428 yards, 14.4 yards per catch, and 10 receiving touchdowns. Those numbers may not look impressive at first glance, but there are reports that Bond adjusted his game to fit into the Longhorns' offensive system, which would explain his lower production with Texas. Cleveland offensive coordinator Tommy Rees is familiar with Bond after working with him at Alabama in 2023, so that should help the Browns determine how best to incorporate Bond into the offense. There is not much time left for Bond to get up to speed, as the Browns will have just a handful of practices this week, then the final game of the preseason on Saturday against the Los Angeles Rams, before they have to make cuts to build the initial 53-man roster by August 26 at 4 p.m. But given that Bond's contract is fully guaranteed, he may have already earned a roster spot.

The Cleveland Browns reportedly signed receiver Isaiah Bond to a three-year, $3 million deal Monday after he was not charged as part of a sexual-assault investigation. Bond, 21, was expected to be a mid-round pick in 2025 NFL Draft, but went undrafted after being arrested on a sexual-assault charge just two weeks before the draft. Bond didn't rack up elite reception numbers, snagging just 34 balls during his junior season. But he gained 540 yards and scored five touchdowns with those catches. Bond talked up his elite speed ahead of the 2025 NFL Combine, and while he didn't break the 40-yard dash record, he turned in a solid 4.39-second performance. That likely would have been enough to get him drafted in the middle of the draft if not for his arrest. Now that he's reportedly under contract, Bond will need to get caught up with the Browns after missing a large chunk of training camp. He's unlikely to make an impact early in the season due to his late start, but will look to work his way up a shaky Browns depth chart once he's fully integrated into the team's system.
