Ukrainian soldier released in prisoner swap left with ‘Glory to Russia' burned on his body by Putin's sick torturers

A UKRAINIAN prisoner of war had the words "Glory to Russia" burned onto his skin while held captive in Russia.
A disturbing photo emerged showing the mutilated soldier after he was released in a prisoner exchange, and Ukraine's intelligence service has confirmed it is genuine.

The phrase 'Glory to Russia' was branded onto this Ukrainian prisoner, written in Russian
The phrase has been branded sideways onto his right flank in large, uneven letters.
Up the middle of the tortured soldier's torso is another thick, livid scar ragged by rough stick marks.
He also has a tube fitted into his stomach, and another area of major scarring on his left flank.
Andrii Yusov, spokesperson for Defence Intelligence of Ukraine [DIU], said: "Unfortunately, the photo is real. He wasn't in this exchange, but one of the earlier ones.
"While examining him at a rehabilitation centre for soldiers, a doctor, overwhelmed by what he saw, took the photo and posted it online.
"This is evidence of what our defenders go through in captivity. The photo speaks for itself.
"And it is imperative that not only Ukrainians see it – they know very well what the Russians are – but the whole world."
He also revealed that 90 percent of prisoners released from captivity in Russia reported violations of the required conditions.

This ranges from a lack of medical care to outright torture, as appears to be the case with this soldier.
Yusov said that Ukraine is documenting each case and attempting to identify those involved.
Night of hell for Ukraine as Putin launches 315 drones in one of biggest strikes of war sparking huge inferno in Kyiv
He said: "This is visually very clear – there is a stark difference in the condition in which Russian POWs return to Russia and the condition in which Ukrainian defenders come back.
"Violations of detention conditions, and breaches of the required standards for food and medical support, are widespread in Russian captivity.
"This is something that the International Committee of the Red Cross must address and the entire international community must act upon."
Russia and Ukraine exchanged at least 1,200 each on Monday after the second round of direct talks in Istanbul last week.

Defence Forces to increase patrols to combat Russian ships in Irish waters

The Defence Forces are to increase both air and naval patrols to combat Russian ships on illegal manoeuvres in Irish waters. The revelation was made by the Defence Minister Simon Harris as part of a new National Maritime Security Strategy that is currently being finalised. The Government will also speed up the €300 million purchase of a new radar defence system for the State along with sonar capability for its fleet. Four out of our eight naval ships are in operation at the moment but the pressure is now on to hire more recruits to get them all back out to sea. The Irish military has also signed up to the EU's Common Information Sharing Environment system which will help track all vessels coming in and out of our Atlantic Waters up to 200 miles off the west coast. The Government has been coming under increasing pressure from other European states to invest more money in defence and to keep a far closer eye on Russian activities in Irish territorial waters. It follows a year after various Russian ships made secret inclusions into the Exclusive Irish Economic Zone, as it is known, and acted suspiciously around the various international sea cables that come ashore off the west coast. Ireland is the main point linking the internet between Europe and the United States. Mr Harris has assured the public he is taking the Russian threat seriously. He said in a series of replies to parliamentary questions about Russia's activities in Irish water: "The Defence Forces routinely monitor foreign vessels with both Naval Service Assets and Air Corps maritime patrol aircraft as well as remote monitoring on a 24/7 basis from the Naval Operations Command Centre in Haulbowline. Tanaiste Simon Harris "It should be noted that foreign vessels transiting Irish waters must do so in compliance with international law and may be subject to sighting and observation by the Naval Service and Air Corps without their innocent passage being infringed. "In relation to additional measures being introduced to strengthen maritime security and surveillance, My Department is working to deliver Ireland's first ever National Maritime Security Strategy. "The aim of the strategy is, amongst other things, to enhance our maritime domain awareness and to protect our critical infrastructure." (Image: PA) During the past two years the Air Corps has brought into service two state-of-the-art Airbus C295 Maritime Patrol Aircraft. The Navy has also started using the P70 Class ship to further help and enable more sea operations. The new intelligence deal with the EU will also result in more secure information being shared with Ireland. Mr Harris added: "This EU programme enables structured and secure information sharing among EU maritime authorities both civil and military, allowing for more effective operations at sea amid new and evolving maritime threats." Four Volkswagen executives sentenced in latest Dieselgate ruling – Can you still claim compensation?

A four year trial concluded when a German court sentenced four former Volkswagen directors for their part in the diesel cheating emission scandal uncovered in 2015. Two defendants received prison sentences, with the former head of diesel motor development receiving the heaviest term of four years and six months. 1 Many other car brands in the UK are also offering compensation Credit: Alamy While the trial might have been brought to a close, prosecutors are still uncovering how widely the scandal was known around the company. According to the Financial Times, criminal proceedings against a total of 31 defendants are still pending. Volkswagen is also facing a separate civil case, where it may have to pay damages for the effects dieslgate had on the markets. Currently, the emission cheating scandal has cost Volkswagen billions, with some of this money owed to UK drivers as compensation. Check Diesel emissions claims eligibility What was Dieselgate? In September 2015, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), an American environmental regulatory body, found a 'defeat device' in many US Volkswagens. This was a piece of software which would make the vehicle look less polluting than it was during emissions testing. Volkswagen later admitted that this software could be found in millions of vehicles worldwide - including models across the UK and Europe. In the UK, over 1.2 million diesels were recalled once the EPA found these devices. This included thousands of Volkswagens, Audis, and Skodas. However, Diesel Claim, a law firm, believes many other vehicle manufacturers are guilty of fitting these devices too. That includes Ford, BMW, Land Rover, Jaguar, Mercedes, Renault, and Nissan. Can I still claim compensation? Diesel Claim said UK drivers are due compensation for this scandal, and it is fighting the case for claimants in court. It believes it has affected the resale value of affected vehicles, led to higher fuel costs for consumers, and increased your carbon footprint - meaning drivers should receive a pay out. To be eligible to claim compensation through Diesel Claim, you need to have bought a diesel vehicle between 2009 and 2019. The vehicle must also have been manufactured between these dates. If you're unsure, you can type your vehicle's registration number into its claims checker. Claimants could receive up to £10,000 in compensation. Diesel Claim works on a no win no fee basis, meaning you won't need to pay any fees for joining. It's only if you're successfully awarded compensation that Diesel Claim will take a cut of your compensation.

Migrants ‘urinated on' after hundreds protest & sleep under tarpaulins outside Paris' iconic town hall

TWO men have reportedly urinated on a pregnant homeless woman and her children in an alleged vile assault on the streets of Paris. The young family were sleeping on the ground outside the iconic Paris City Hall alongside hundreds of migrants when they claim they were degraded. 8 Hundreds of migrants staying in a makeshift camp in front of the Paris City Hall Credit: EPA 8 Those in the tents are waiting for emergency accommodation in Paris Credit: EPA 8 Dozens of children run over to makeshift food stands to eat Credit: EPA A pair of Parisians, aged around 20, are accused of urinating on the mum and her daughters, aged 6 and 14 months, at 1am on Sunday. The claim has come from Utopia 56 Paris association who organised the gathering of homeless people in France. They described the incidents as "extremely serious" and confirmed a complaint has been filed. The humiliated and scared mother has said the ordeal has left her children crying for days. She said: "Since then, my daughter hasn't been able to sleep. She says they're going to come back and pee on her. "She won't stop crying, and other children make fun of her." The men fled the scene when they were spotted by Utopia 56 Paris staff, according to the organisation. Two officers were alerted and managed to track down the men. One has reportedly been arrested. Utopia 56 Paris released a statement on the alleged attack as they detailed why hundreds of homeless people have been camping outside Paris City Hall. Riot police clash with suspected migrants in France They said: "This occurred after approximately 300 homeless people, including a dozen unaccompanied minors and around a hundred young children, had just spent five days and five nights on the forecourt of Paris City Hall. "They are simply asking for the law to be respected, to escape extreme poverty, and to access emergency accommodation. "The humanitarian situation there is deteriorating by the day." Dozens of families have been seen sleeping on the floor using tarpaulin sheets as roofs as part of the latest demonstrations in Paris. Nearly 300 migrants, mostly women and children, have been gathered since August 5. Those taking part are simply asking for shelter, according to Utopia 56 Paris. Pictures of the event show families taking shelter under the tarpaulin with some wrapped in blankets and others using sleeping bags. Many of them have packed up their belongings into plastic shipping bags. 8 Dozens of families have been seen sleeping on the floor using tarpaulin sheets as roofs as part of the latest demonstrations in Paris Credit: EPA 8 Nearly 300 migrants, mostly women and children, have been gathered outside Paris City Hall since August 5 Credit: EPA The makeshift tents are surrounded by metal gates with the sun beaming down on the migrants throughout the day. Nathan Lequeux, coordinator of the Utopia 56 association's Paris branch, told InfoMigrants: "We will not move until a lasting solution is found." The organisation has been handing out breakfast and lunch to those outside with the numbers of migrants increasing each day. About 90 children are outside the building with Utopia 56 counting more than 30 under three year olds. It comes as France has been battling with a major migrant issue in recent months. In July, French riot cops were attacked by a mob hurling rocks just yards away from the shore. The shocking clashes between migrants and cops were caught on camera while small fires are alight in the road near a park in Gravelines. Footage showed a group throwing rocks from afar in the direction of the officers in the northern coastal town early on Friday morning. It comes after a new migrant deal was agreed between the UK and France in a bid to tackle the small boats crisis. Last week, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron agreed a one in, one out migrant returns deal in a bid to crack down on the crossings and the people smuggling gangs who operate them. But France will be able to choose which migrants to take back - prompting fears that the UK will be stuck with dangerous criminals. The details of each migrant selected for return will be given to France, allowing it to reject those with a criminal record or deemed a security risk. Both France and the UK will have a veto over which of the small boat migrants they take in. Britain will take into account if the migrants have a connection to the country and if they have lived here before. 8 Utopia 56 have been handing out breakfast and lunch to those outside Credit: EPA 8 Soaring temperatures have made the homeless struggle in the heat Credit: EPA
