Erin Andrews says she 'feels like a failure' after surrogate has miscarriage with sportscaster's baby

NBC News22-05-2025
Erin Andrews' surrogate had a miscarriage with her second child, the sportscaster revealed during an episode of her podcast on Thursday, confessing that it made her "feel like a failure."
"We got some real s---ty news today that our surrogate had miscarried," Andrew shared, choking up, on ' Calm Down with Erin and Charissa."
The 47-year-old NFL sideline reporter previously lost twins via surrogacy before the birth of her son, but was optimistic about this most recent surrogate pregnancy.
"Her little heartbeat and her numbers were really good — so much so I even told you guys a couple weeks ago because we thought we had such good news," Andrews said.
Andrews gave kudos to producer Ryan Musick, who joined her on the episode while co-host and fellow sportscaster Charissa Thompson was away.
"I've been trying really hard to pay attention, I've just been tearing up the whole time," Andrews said.
Andrews, mom to 2-year-old Mack with husband Jarret Stoll, said she originally did not want to do the episode, but reflected on how the podcast has been a safe space for her over the years, from her battle with cervical cancer to infertility issues.
Andrews opened up that she often suppresses her feelings through work and acknowledged she will have to process the emotions of this loss, noting that the last time she did not and "suffered with it."
The Taylor Swift song 'I Can Do It With A Broken Heart' came to Andrews' mind during the podcast, saying she is 'really good at doing this s--- with a broken heart.'
Musick told Andrews they could push back taping the podcast if she was not feeling up to it, the co-host said, but she made a promise to herself to be honest with listeners about her infertility and surrogacy journey.
'This really, really sucks, but so many people are dealing with it so if you feel alone and you feel like a failure, I do too," Andrews said. "But you're not the only one.'
Andrews said Stoll is also having a difficult time with the loss, and that she would be going home after taping the episode to be with him and play with their son in the pool.

Giants rookie Jaxson Dart eyes $10MILLION penthouse after signing $17m deal

Now that Jaxson Dart has officially signed his first NFL contract with the New York Giants, he needs to find himself a place to live. The quarterback, who recently signed a four-year, $17million entry-level contract, now has to deal with finding a place to live in one of the most expensive real estate markets in the world. In a video collaboration with Overtime, Dart was seen shopping for homes and apartments in New York City and neighboring New Jersey to find a place to call his own. He began in the community of Short Hills, New Jersey - on the same side of the river as the Giants' practice facility in East Rutherford. There, he toured a newly-built home valued at nearly $4million that came with rare features, ornate furnishings, and plenty of space for him to put roots down. Black and gold accents decorated the house - including in a kitchen with all black appliances, cabinetry, and countertops. Throughout the video, he spoke about some things that he's getting used to now that he lives in the Northeast - such as an E-Z Pass to help him bypass tollbooths. 'I don't even know that. I just drive by it every time. I'm like, what does this even mean?,' Dart said in the video. He also talked about his quarterback 'competition' with Jameis Winston behind probable starter Russell Wilson: 'Jameis is probably the funniest person I've ever been around. He's just, you know, genuinely just who he is and he's been great, you know, for me just being able to go into the facilities every day and learn from him. 'Same with Russ, you know, smart he is and he's just been around a lot of ball and he's had success and he's also faced adversity. So, being able to just talk through things with him and learn as much as I can.' Dart then went into the city - where he did some shopping along with his friends and members of his management team before heading back across the Hudson and into Jersey City to look at a $3.4m apartment. While the lavish layout and furnishings were enticing, some of the potential views were blocked by other buildings. After being shown some common areas, Dart was shown the common area for the whole building on the 34th floor. The Utah native then remarked that he'd like to purchase that common area to be his full-time residence. When asking someone who worked for the building if it was for sale, she said it wasn't. When pressed, the woman said it might cost Dart around $10million. After touring an apartment in Jersey City, Dart was enticed by the top-floor common area. Despite it not being for sale, he was quoted at $10million - over half his rookie contract value. Dart's real estate agent remarked that this might be a 'second contract purchase' - considering the rookie only earns $17m spread out over four years. But the confident Dart remarked, 'Just watch. Just watch me. Watch when I buy this s**t.' During Dart's first preseason game in Orchard Park against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday, he got the start for New York and proved his worth early on. In the second quarter, Dart lobbed up a pass for receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey - which landed perfectly in his stride into the end zone for a 28-yard completion. As Humphrey danced and his teammates ran over, Dart was fired up - shouting in celebration as he joined in on the fun. Dart had a very strong debut for the G-Men - completing 12-of-19 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown while also tacking on three carries for 24 yards on the ground.

Controversial country singer Zach Bryan vows to 'NEVER' play in Kansas City again after clash with Chiefs fans

vowed to never perform in Kansas City, Missouri again after clashing with Chiefs fans. The controversial country star, 29, declared that he would never return to the city in Missouri after getting into a feud with Kansas City Chiefs fans on social media. On Friday, he reignited his beef with the Chiefs supporters when he tweeted about the team's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl LIX. He poked at a sore spot when he brought up how Chiefs fans were rooting for their team to become the first to win three consecutive Super Bowl games in NFL history, a feat they failed to achieve earlier this year. The singer-songwriter — who is a vocal Philadelphia Eagles fan — wrote on X: 'Where are all the three peat people from last year:/.' He received mixed reactions and stirred up more backlash - which all comes shortly after separate controversies involving his ex-girlfriend Brianna Chickenfry, his response to a young fan who slammed him for not signing autographs after a concert, and a feud with another country star. Bryan responded to one particular comment after seeing several of his fans getting into a heated debate underneath his tweet. One X user told Bryan to 'don't come back' after 'talking that s*** and yet [touring] here.' Bryan then followed up by saying he had no plans to return to the Missouri city as he retweeted the user's post saying that the singer had 'singled out ... that same fanbase that sells out his shows.' 'Please understand I will never play in Kansas City,' he wrote in response to the user's response. Bryan, who is currently touring through September, previously performed in Kansas City in 2021, 2023 and 2024. He then reposted his tweet again and added: 'I'll be about to finish my show and then get a taunting call if I play at that stadium.' When the same user fired back at the singer to 'take us off your live album too' — seemingly referring to the track Fifth of May - Live from Kansas City from Bryan's album 24 (Live) — he tweeted back: 'Done brother.' Then, Bryan went on to tweet several more times on the topic in response to his previous statements that upset some Chiefs fans. 'I missed it here guys,' he tweeted. 'Let's piss some people off.' Later, he added: 'Bro all u have to do to piss of a chiefs fan is play a fair game of football.' Shortly afterwards, he followed up with: 'Guys it's okay to talk trash to each other about football yall are weird as hell.' Bryan poked at a sore spot as he asked about the Chiefs' failed three-peat Bryan responded to one particular comment after seeing several of his fans getting into a heated debate underneath his tweet Bryan then followed up by saying he had no plans to return to the Missouri city as he retweeted the user's post saying that the singer had 'singled out ... that same fanbase that sells out his shows' Just last year, Bryan also made headlines for his posts on X, formerly Twitter, and deactivated his account. In September 2024, he received backlash for his comments about Taylor Swift, one of the most famous Chiefs fans as she is dating Travis Kelce. In a controversial tweet, Bryan had compared her to Kanye Swift when he tweeted that 'Eagles > chiefs' and 'Kanye > Taylor.' He concluded the tweet by asking his fans 'who's with me' but ended up deleting the post and claiming he was inebriated when he tweeted it. He later took to his Instagram Story to apologize after he deactivated his X account amid the backlash at the time. 'For the record guys I wasn't coming for Taylor the other night,' he wrote. 'I was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong. 'I know there's a lot of stuff that clouds around Ye and I was speaking purely musically. I love Taylor's music and pray you guys know I'm human and tweet stupid things often.' He added: 'Hope one day I can explain this to her. Twitter gets me in trouble too much and I'd say it's best I stay off it. I'm sorry to any Taylor fans I pissed off or let down. Love you guys and I'm trying my best!' This comes as Bryan is involved in even more drama as his ex-girlfriend recently hinted at filing a restraining order against him after he filmed himself burning a flag belonging to the company where Brianna Chickenfry works as a podcast host and content creator. In late July, he also sparked controversy when he fired back at an 'entitled' teenage fan for getting upset that he did not sign autographs after one of his shows.

Shedeur Sanders' mom slammed for 'embarrassing' sideline behavior during quarterback's NFL debut

NFL fans have ripped into Shedeur Sanders' 'embarrassing' mom after her social media post from the sidelines went viral. All eyes were on the Cleveland Browns ' fourth-choice quarterback as he made his preseason debut against the Carolina Panthers on Friday night. Despite pre-game concerns, Sanders made a brilliant first impression in his team's 30-10 win, completing 14 of his 23 pass attempts for 138 yards and two touchdowns. Fans, celebrities and league executives alike watched on in shock as Sanders dominated the game - despite his slide down the NFL Draft at the end of April. Sanders' mom, Pilar, watched on from the sidelines on the day and, after the game, shared a video of herself celebrating the occasion. The caption read: 'Aaaaaand you know itttt!!! Momma's always present!' Some fans, however, were not impressed by Pilar's actions and swiftly made their feelings known by responding in the comments to her Instagram post. One fan wrote: 'I would be embarrassed if my 60-year-old mom conducted herself like that'. For clarity, Pilar Sanders is 50-years-old. 'She acted like a kid,' another said. Meanwhile one user brutally commented: 'She is so annoying'. One fan, however, did leave a lengthy comment. They said: 'But as a mother pulling up to my son's games, I would conduct myself differently. This is young woman behavior. You are so fine. 'You dont have to be posting pic licking your teeth and wiggling. Im not hating at all, but her sons are so respectful and respected by many in the world, that she should just carry herself showing more class'. Fans were left stunned by Sanders balling out on his debut in the NFL, with one even calling it 'history-making', and another claiming he has 'proven his doubters wrong'. Sanders, a highly-rated draft prospect who endured a dramatic fall into the fifth round in April, entered the game fourth on the Browns depth chart, but was pressed into starting duty because of injuries. His status could change after he led three touchdown drives in nearly three full quarters of action, showing tremendous poise and awareness in the pocket. Sanders said he's not worried about how the depth chart shakes out. 'When I get out there it's just doing what I gotta do,' Sanders said. 'Everything else is not in my hands, so I don't worry about it. I just don´t think that deep into everything because it´s nothing you´re gonna be able to control. So why put energy in something that you can´t control?' Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said he was pleased with how Sanders played, but said it's too early to know if he will get more reps in practice or start the next preseason game against the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in what is viewed as an open quarterback competition.
