Yango Group launches Yasmina Lite smart speaker: the smallest and brightest in the line-up

Tahawul Tech04-03-2025

Yango Group, a global tech company, launches Yasmina Lite, the latest addition to its line of smart speakers. Available in three bright colours — pink, purple, and green — Yasmina Lite is the smallest device in the range to date.
The new speaker is equipped with the powerful AI assistant Yasmina that engages in intelligent, human-like conversations in both Arabic and English.
Designed with families in mind, Yasmina now features whisper mode — if a person whispers to Yasmina, the assistant whispers back. This mode is perfect for quiet moments, like planning the next day while other family members are asleep. Simply whisper, 'Yasmina, what's the weather tomorrow?' and the assistant will respond in a hushed tone.
Yasmina also offers access to a wide range of educational and entertainment content. Parents can use it to play podcasts and audio stories from Shamandar for their children.
The AI assistant also streams music from Yango Play and can identify up to four family members by voice, adapting to their preferences. It remembers their likes and dislikes and suggests songs they might enjoy based on their tastes.
Yasmina excels at breaking down complex ideas and making them accessible to anyone. Whether it's scientific principles or cultural practices, the AI assistant explains concepts in ways that resonate with people of all ages. From answering questions like 'How do bees make honey?' to helping with math using a built-in calculator, Yasmina is always ready to chat and explain.
Available in three colours, the Yasmina Lite smart speaker also comes with playful stickers, so that families can customize the speaker to match their tastes.
'The Yasmina Lite smart speaker is indeed the brightest and most playful smart speaker we've ever created — small in size but big in personality,' said Rami Abu Arja, Senior Innovation Marketing Manager at Yasmina, Yango Group Middle East. 'Featuring a powerful AI assistant capable of human-like interactions and a vibrant design, this new addition to the range is the perfect choice for those young at heart. It's not just a speaker — it's an everyday companion that brings joy, knowledge, and entertainment to your home.'
To fully enjoy everything, the Yasmina Lite smart speaker has to offer, including music streaming and recommendations, users need to activate a subscription to Yango Play. The Yasmina Lite smart speaker is now available for purchase through various outlets across the UAE, including Eros, Jumbo, Sharaf, and Virgin Mega Store. Customers can also find the Yasmina Lite smart speaker online on Amazon and Noon. It is currently priced at AED 199.

One in every four new enterprise clients in H1 2025 switched from global CXM vendors to Lucidya

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lucidya, the region's leading AI Customer Experience Management (CXM) platform, announced that one in every four new enterprise clients in H1 2025 made the switch from global CXM vendors. This milestone underscores a growing shift toward platforms purpose-built for Arabic-speaking markets and region-specific regulatory needs. Clients cite Lucidya's advanced Arabic natural language processing, deep CX focus, and regional expertise as decisive factors. The platform currently supports over 15 Arabic dialects with 92% sentiment analysis accuracy, significantly outperforming global alternatives. A key driver behind this shift is Lucidya's alignment with local data privacy regulations, including compliance with Saudi Arabia's National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) guidelines and Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). This makes Lucidya the preferred choice for highly regulated sectors such as government, telecom, and finance. 'Arabic AI accuracy and regional CX leadership are driving this exciting market shift,' said Muhannad Al Shaikh, Chief Commercial Officer at Lucidya. 'Clients choose Lucidya because they see measurable results. Our technology understands context, is fully compliant with local and global regulations, and delivers insights that drive real impact.' This momentum follows a series of strategic leadership appointments earlier this year that have strengthened Lucidya's commercial, product, and go-to-market capabilities, further accelerating regional expansion. About Lucidya Lucidya is an AI-powered unified customer experience platform (CXM) designed to support CX and Marketing leaders in large enterprises, governments, and SMEs across the Arab world. Through the transformative power of AI, Lucidya enables organizations of all sizes to turn raw data into meaningful interactions and actionable insights, allowing them to build human connections and drive real business impact, safely and securely. We are fully compliant with global and regional data privacy and security regulations, including SOC2 for data management standards, and the SDAIA PDPL in KSA. Lucidya also adheres to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), ensuring robust risk management practices, and comply with key US data privacy regulations.

NotebookLM Audio Overviews now available in Arabic

Google is launching Audio Overviews on NotebookLM in more than 50 languages including Arabic, starting this week. Audio Overviews , which turn uploaded sources into engaging, podcast-like conversations, were launched late last year in English. With Gemini's native audio support, people can now use Audio Overviews in their preferred language, and more updates will come to the feature based on users' feedback. Audio Overviews are generated in the preferred language of the user's account. This update also introduces a new 'Output Language' option in NotebookLM's settings. People can change the language at any time, making it easy to create multilingual content or study materials as needed. For example, a teacher preparing a lesson on – climate change in the region can share resources in various languages — like an Arabic documentary, an English research paper and Spanish study reports — with students. The students can upload these and can generate an Audio Overview of key insights in their preferred language. This capability breaks down language barriers and makes the information more accessible to everyone.
