(NewsNation) — Ben Carson — a retired neurosurgeon, former Housing and Urban Development secretary and one-time presidential candidate — joins 'Morning in America' to discuss the need for transparency regarding presidents' medical information. He tells NewsNation that, once a president hits 70 or 75, they should take an annual mental status test.

Pickup crashes into west Wichita home

Alabama's Miss America met with President Trump in the Oval Office
According to the 'Miss America' Instagram page, Miss America, Abbie Stockard, visited President Trump in the Oval Office. She discussed the Promise Fund with Trump, which is a non-profit organization that fights for early detection for breast and cervical cancer. The fund's goal is to provide underserved women screenings, diagnosis, treatment and follow up care for the illnesses. Abbie was there with the CEO of the Promise Fund, Audrey Brown. During her visit, Abbie gave First Lady, Melania Trump a bracelet that symbolizes the fund's promise, which is screening saves lives. Abbie won Miss America in January of 2025, and she was Miss Alabama last year in 2024. She is from Birmingham, and she attends Auburn University, where she majors in nursing. Illinois lawmakers pass $55.2 billion budget
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Illinois State Senators passed a $55 billion budget less than 2 hours after State Representatives sent it to them Saturday evening. Several events planned for Pride Month in Evansville The spending plan increased funding for safety net hospitals and federally qualified clinics in anticipation of cuts to Medicaid. The budget plan includes a $100 million budget reserve, which can be used by the governor during emergencies. The spending plan also cuts the Health Benefits for Immigrant Adults program. The program gave non-citizens between the ages of 42 and 64 access to state-sponsored health care. The budget also includes tax increases on cigarettes, vaping, and sports betting.
