Aaron Sorkin's The Social Network Sequel To Explore Dark Truths Behind Facebook

The Social Network sequel will dive into Facebook's role in the 2020 election, its impact on young users and how it influenced violence and politics around the world.
Aaron Sorkin is set to revisit the story of Facebook with a new film inspired by The Social Network. Rather than a direct sequel, the upcoming project will explore deeper issues tied to the social media giant. While the first film was based on Ben Mezrich's The Accidental Billionaires and chronicled Facebook's origins, Sorkin's new script draws inspiration from The Facebook Files, a series of investigative reports by The Wall Street Journal's Jeff Horwitz.
These reports revealed troubling internal practices and decisions at the company. The new film will delve into Facebook's role in the 2020 US election, its impact on young users, and its influence on global politics and real-world violence.
According to Deadline, Aaron Sorkin will direct the new Facebook film himself. Sorkin will also produce the project alongside Todd Black, Peter Rice, and Stuart Besser. While the film is still in early development and no production date has been confirmed, reports indicate that several major deals are already in place.
Jesse Eisenberg was praised for playing Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network and even got an Oscar nomination for it. But right now, it's not clear if he will return for the new film or how big his role will be in the upcoming project. It's also not known if Sorkin has spoken to him about playing Zuckerberg again. So far, no names from the original film have been confirmed yet and casting is still a mystery.
In an earlier interview with The Town podcast, Aaron Sorkin, speaking about the sequel, said, 'Facebook has been, among other things, tuning its algorithm to promote the most divisive material possible. Because that is what will increase engagement. That is what will get you to, what they call inside the hallways of Facebook, 'the infinite scroll.' There's supposed to be a constant tension at Facebook between growth and integrity. There isn't. There's just growth. If Mark Zuckerberg woke up tomorrow morning and realised there is nothing you can buy for $120 billion that you can't buy for $119 billion, 'So how about if I make a little bit less money? I will tune up integrity and tune down growth.' Yes, you can do that by switching a one to a zero."
The 2010 hit, The Social Network, had a strong cast including Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Armie Hammer, Rooney Mara, Dakota Johnson and Brenda Song.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Final Trailer Drops Hint Of Galactus

Washington : Marvel has released the final trailer of 'The Fantastic Four', featuring the arrival of supervillian Galactus. 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' features an ensemble cast including Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn as the titular team. It is directed by Matt Shakman. In the new trailer, as the quartet is about to take the stage on 'The Ted Gilbert Show', they get alerts on their retro wristbands. The same alert comes as they are about to sit down to dinner. Julia Garner's Silver Surfer then floats out of the darkness to "herald his beginning", meaning Galactus, as reported by Deadline. There are also several attempts in the clip to get 'The Thing' to say "It's clobberin' time!" which he repeatedly asserts is from the comics and not something he likes to say. The trailer also highlights the gigantic appearance of Galactus, followed by the mass destruction. 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' is one of the most anticipated films of the year, marking the first title in Phase Six of the MCU, according to Deadline. The Fantastic Four is slated to hit theatres on July 25. Others in the cast include Paul Walter-Hauser, Natasha Lyonne and Sarah Niles. The script of the film is written by Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, with Kevin Feige producing for Marvel Studios. Louis D'Esposito, Grant Curtis and Tim Lewis serve as executive producers of the film.

Anurag Basu reveals Pritam's 'Scary' habit of tweaking songs till the lLast minute before release

Picture Credit: Facebook Director Anurag Basu , who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ' Dino', has revealed the scary habit of his frequent collaborator, music composer Pritam . The director recently spoke with IANS ahead of his film's release, and shared that Pritam is obsessed with making minor tweaks in his song beyond the deadlines. Anurag told IANS, "It's really scary at this stage of post-production of the film, he keeps adding stuff, saying, 'In the background I'll add this, I'll add that'. He becomes so possessive with every song, every piece, everything". However, the director praised Pritam for his sense of detachment which kicks in the moment a song is released. He further mentioned, "After release, he's gone. But till then, you think he'll drive you crazy. He'll drive you crazy. And he spends money like crazy on producing songs, musicians sitting in Prague recording for him and somebody in Miami recording for him but once the song is released, he moves on to the next one". Earlier, Anurag shared his memories of working with the late actor Irrfan, and the late singer KK in 'Life in a Metro'. He said, "I had chased Irrfan.
