After a flurry of business in this transfer window for Liverpool, another player who could be leaving soon is Darwin Nunez.
The Uruguayan international is rumoured to be in talks with clubs outside of England, most notably current Serie A champions Napoli. Liverpool's Federico Chiesa is also rumoured to return to Italy by joining them this summer.

Despite the building speculation, former Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson recently spoke to aceodds.com about Darwin's time with the Reds and how he feels there could still be hope for the 26-year-old.

'I have said all along that I want Darwin to stay," he said. "I just think he does so much more for the team and his teammates than fans or the press gives him credit for.'
Since joining the Merseyside squad in 2022, Nunez has scored 25 goals, as well as making 15 assists in 95 appearances. However there have been several times where the forward should have added to that tally.

'Of course, strikers are going to be judged on goals and numbers, rightly so, but you can ask any Liverpool player, and they would love him to be in the team," Johnson continued.
"The defenders don´t want to play against him, and that gives the other guys the space to do what they are doing.'
Nunez has a contract with Liverpool until summer 2028, but with three years of the six-year deal complete, there are strong concerns about whether the entire term will be fulfilled.
Johnson also said: 'But eventually, the numbers do count, and if he doesn´t have a big year now, he probably will be moved on.'

'But as a player, everyone would want him in the dressing room. But of course, everyone would like to sign Isak as well.' He added.
Other teams which are rumoured to be interested in the forward are Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid, and Saudi Pro League runners-up Al-Hilal.

Door OPENS for Liverpool to complete dream forward transfer

Unlike Alexander Isak, who Newcastle will be reluctant to sell, there's a forward playing in France who is pretty much tailor-made for Slot's style of play and who could be available for a bargain price. We're talking about Georges Mikautadze. The Georgian attacker reminds us of Diogo Jota in his prime. He's quick and he latches onto chances brilliantly. Advertisement Last year he stepped up for Georgia scoring three times in four matches to end-up as the joint-top scorer in the tournament. Mikautadze has followed that up with a solid campaign for Lyon, where he made 28 goal contributions in 47 matches. Those numbers make him an ideal target. Mikautadze can be very clinical in front of goal and he's versatile - he can play across the front three, which is exactly the type of forward Liverpool are looking for at the moment.

Bernie's big breakthrough ends with Mallorca defeat

Bernard Tomic has enjoyed making tennis news for all the right reasons in the Mallorca Open, but has finally had his adventures back in the top-flight terminated ruthlessly by Spanish veteran Roberto Bautista Agut. The 32-year-old Tomic, who's delighted many within the sport by battling back in to his first main draw in a tour-level event since he qualified for the Australian Open back in 2021, went down 6-3 6-3 to the in-form seventh seed Bautista Agut, who last week reached the semi-finals at the Queen's Club Championship. Former world No.17 Tomic, whose victory over his fellow Australian Rinky Hijikata in the first round was his first triumph in a tour event main draw in 1597 days, couldn't keep the fairytale going on Wednesday as the 37-year-old 'RBA' earned early breaks in both sets to avoid any prospect of an upset. Back in the quarter-finals 🔥Roberto Bautista Agut defeats Tomic 6-3 6-3 to make his fourth consecutive quarter-final in Mallorca!#MallorcaChampionships — Tennis TV (@TennisTV) June 25, 2025 Tomic has been accused plenty of times in the past of not caring about the sport but his globetrotting battles to play in minor events over recent years have demonstrated that, actually, he still needs the sport and is determined to give everything in one last shot at making the top 100. Down at 248 in the rankings, his spirited run through qualifying and into the last-16 of the Spanish grass-court event will make sure he'll rise as high as No.214 next week. And though he decided to give Wimbledon qualifying a miss - he would have made the cut as an alternate if he hadn't decided instead to play in Mallorca - it seems sure he'll again be battling in the Flushing Meadows qualification for the US Open. If Tomic was a maverick from another era, French artist Corentin Moutet is a 2025 tennis cult figure, as he demonstrated by dishing up six underarm serves on his way to a second-round victory over Germany's Daniel Altmaier. He won three and lost three of the points in which he employed the tactic as he went on to win 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (7-3). He'll face his first ATP Tour quarter-final of the year against American Learner Tien, who upset top seed Ben Shelton 6-4 7-6 (7-2). In the Eastbourne International, Britain's 35-year-old Dan Evans again belied his world ranking of 170 as he knocked out American world No.13 Tommy Paul 6-4 3-6 6-3, having beaten world No.12 Frances Tiafoe at Queen's.

Defender jets out amid Liverpool transfer rumours

Anfield Watch understands Liverpool's primary choice is Marc Guehi. The Crystal Palace defender is on the club's radar and the Reds are prepared to make a significant bid to prize him away from the London side. With one year left on his contract, Guehi is ready to make the move away. However, Liverpool will only be signing him for the right price, considering his current situation. Advertisement The Reds are also happy to wait out the length of his contract and sign him on a free next summer, which puts Palace in a difficult situation. Amid all the speculations it was interesting to see Guehi fly out to New York last week. He confirmed this on his official Instagram account.
