Fans of the Another Simple Favor actress will have to wait at least another year before they see her at the Met Gala. TMZ confirmed on March 21 that Lively and Reynolds will not be in attendance this year. The media outlet was very clear in noting that their decision to skip the Costume Institute Benefit had nothing to do with Baldoni.
A People source also pointed out that while the couple has frequented the red carpet at the gala multiple times, they haven't attended the event in three years. 'Blake and Ryan haven't gone since 2022 when they were co-chairs, and they will not be in attendance this year,' they explained.
Lively's first appearance at the Met Gala was in 2008 during her Gossip Girl era. She donned a black Ralph Lauren strapless gown adorned with feathers on the train. It might not have fit the 'Superheroes' theme exactly, but the invite to the event signaled that Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour noticed a budding fashion superstar.
After her debut, Lively made three consecutive appearances, firmly cementing herself in the A-list fashion crowd. In 2018, ahead of the Met Gala, Lively shared with WWD how she pulled together her look without using a stylist.
'I just sent Lorraine Schwartz and Christian Louboutin my dress, and said, 'Ok let's do something special,'' Lively said. 'They're making something custom for it. So, it's kind of nice because I have a bunch of artists around me who I have direct relationships with. It's sort of a group effort with that. I rely on people who do that for a living rather than outsourcing it to someone else.'
The 37-year-old actress leaned all the way into the controversial theme that year, 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination' — but it worked. The elaborate red and gold Versace gown with a custom-made halo by Lorraine Schwartz evoked religious iconography from historic paintings. She described it to Vogue as her 'favorite dress ever' for the Met Gala.
For now, fans will have to savor Lively's last Met Gala look in 2022, a transformational Versace gown that she switched up mid-carpet. It went from rose gold to icy blue all with the flip of the fabric. The colors were a nod to the theme, 'In America: An Anthology of Fashion,' and the Statue of Liberty.

A dream wedding for Jeff Bezos in Venice? No way, locals say.
She spoke under a large banner that read, 'No Space [an image of a spaceship] for Bezos,' playing on his ownership of Blue Origin, a spaceflight venture. 'We have to block Bezos; we have to block this idea of this city' as a tourist haven that has driven up housing costs so that most ordinary Venetians can no longer afford to live here, she said.
