This Morning star swears by £13 product to refresh hair colour at home

Daily Mirror15-05-2025

Beauty expert Nadine Baggott has found a hair mask that she absolutely 'swears by' for getting rid of brassy tones on her blonde hair. The best part is, it's only £13 on Amazon
There's nothing more frustrating than paying a pretty penny to get your blonde hair done, only for it to start looking brassy in a matter of weeks. Maintaining bleached locks can be a challenge, but for those looking to refresh their tresses between appointments may find at-home toning conditioners to be a lifesaver - and we've found one recommended by experts that costs less than £15 on Amazon.
There are hundreds of products out there that promise to revive your colour as you stretch the time between salon visits, and sorting the wheat from the chaff can sometimes come at the expense of your hair. No-one wants to spend a fortune on products that may or may not be effective, so This Morning's esteemed beauty guru, Nadine Baggott recently put a selection of at-home hair treatments to the test in her quest to revive her blonde hair.
Seeking to banish unsightly brass tones while tackling her roots, there was one product in particular that left her awestruck – the Jerome Russell Colour Bomb Blondes Colour Depositing Mask. The hair treatment costs £12.66 at Amazon and comes in 12 shades ranging from light shades like ice blonde and warm blonde, to darker hues like espresso and cool brown. There are even some more vibrant options like copper or ruby red, but Nadine opted for silver blonde.
It's not the only product of its kind available, though. Beauty writer Tiffany Lo says her go-to is the Philip Kingsley's Pure Blonde Booster, retailing at £31. She said: 'I use it bi-weekly as a treatment to keep my blonde balayage vibrant, and it refreshes the colour while keeping my hair moisturised.'
However, her colleague, Bethan Shufflebotham is a little more skeptical after a negative experience with the Wella Professionals Care Color Fresh Semi-Permanent Colour Mask in the shade copper glow. She said: 'I had wanted to refresh my copper between appointments and used the mask as directed, and despite leaving it on for half the time instructed, my hair still came out red rather than copper, which wasn't the look I was going for.'
Nadine has hailed the Jerome Russell version as "the greatest tonal conditioning mask ever used", after discovering her hair transformed within the time it took her to complete her shaving routine. It saved her from taking trips to the salon every month and kept her hair in her desired cool toned hue.
Explaining how tonal conditioners work, Nadine told her followers: "The way it works is that it works on the colour wheel. And the opposite colours on the colour wheel are violet or purple, and orange. And that's what you're doing. You're essentially depositing a pigment on the surface of the hair that then tricks the eye into colour correcting the orange so that less of the orange reflects back and more of a silvery blonde."
The Jerome Russell mask provides blonde customers with 'stunning' metallic ashy tones, neutralising any unwanted brassy hues in a quick 10-minute treatment. The incorporated bond-building technology also strengthens the hair's structure from within, reports the Express.
After testing the Jerome Russell Colour Bomb, Nadine was pleased with the outcome, even though the product appeared a lighter shade of purple than many other competitors. "This is Jerome Russell Colour Bomb Blondes and this is Silver Blonde,' she said. 'This is a colour depositing mask and I don't even leave this on for 15 minutes, I leave this on probably for about four or five minutes in the shower and it is mind blowingly good.'
Nadine continued: "When I first squeezed it out onto my hand, I thought, well, that's not purple enough, that's not going to work. Explain to me why it outperforms every other product times 10. It might be the greatest tonal conditioning mask I've ever used. It's incredible and it really works, and it absolutely takes the warmth out of my hair, and it does that. It's sort of three or four minutes, just set enough time for me to shave my armpits, shave my bikini line and my legs...too much information.
'If you're looking for a really good budget one, that you can just use virtually every time you wash, and that doesn't ruin your bathroom, Jerome. Jerome Russell Colorbomb is bomb."
Some Amazon shoppers gave mixed feedback about the £13 product, with one commenting: "It works and gives a lovely colour, but doesn't last very long before it fades out. I'd say the same colour lasts one wash. Was hoping for a bit more longevity."
Another customer experienced discomfort and explained: "I thought I would try this product as it's not my usual one I get but had to wash it off straight away it was nipping my scalp and usually I'm ok with products on my scalp."
Beyond Jerome Russell, Nadine also suggested trying the Maria Nila Sheer Silver Masque, priced at £24.50, which she found effective on her fine, damaged hair, although she noted it's "not as powerful in terms of toning as the conditioner". Shoppers can explore all the available shades of the Jerome Russell Colour Depositing Mask here.

Keeping a reusable water bottle (that you actually like and sip from) on hand is one of the best ways to get your daily water intake high. And when those scorching hot days roll around, you may want a bottle that's particularly known for keeping water cold and refreshing. Enter: Stanley's viral Quencher Tumbler — the uber popular reusable water bottle, known for keeping drinks cold for hours, is currently 40% off on Amazon, which also happens to be its lowest price ever. Both the 30- and 40-ounce tumblers are almost half off so it's the perfect time to cash in on the trend. The Stanley Quencher H2.0 FlowState Tumbler, often referred to as just 'a Stanley ' has double-wall insulation properties and a stainless steel, BPA-free interior that helps keep drinks like water ice cold for up to 11 hours, according to the brand. I've tried out the Stanley myself and I often put ice water in it before going to bed and wake up to ice cubes in almost full form in the morning. Plus, I love that the bottom of the bottle is compatible with many cup holders, including the ones on the treadmill at my gym. The tumbler, which is available in a 30-ounce handled version, is available in a long list of colors and designs, including many limited-edition and themed ones. Why trust NBC Select?
