Liverpool's alternative €100m forward if Alexander Isak deal falls through

Liverpool will no doubt try again to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United before the end of the current transfer window. The Reds were knocked back when they presented their first formal bid for the Swedish striker - believed to be in the region of £120m. 🔴 Shop the LFC Store 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! Newcastle have got a striker shortage - and do not wish to let Isak go despite his pleas to make the move to Anfield. 🔴 Liverpool did not come close to reaching the Magpies reported asking price - around £150m - but the deal may well be reignited if the North East side manage to sign a replacement. Liverpool still thinking about Rodrygo Benjamin Sesko is the latest name in the frame - with Newcastle meeting the RB Leipzig asking price for their Slovenian striker. And if Liverpool successfully manage to add Isak, 25, to their squad then it promises to have profound implications for the future of one Real Madrid star. Rodrygo, 24, is surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu under new manager Xabi Alonso. He will be allowed to leave if any potential suitors come up with the asking price - not to mention the wages. Madrid want around €100m for the Brazil international, who can play all across the frontline. It's been claimed in the Spanish media that Rodrygo prefers a move to Liverpool - but if the deal concerning Isak goes ahead then he will have to look elsewhere. Liverpool can't sign Isak AND Rodrygo Defensa Central claims Liverpool will ABANDON their pursuit of Rodrygo if Isak is signed. 'If Alexander Isak's signing for Liverpool goes through, the Reds will give up on signing the São Paulo native, who would be left without his preferred destination, and would therefore be closer to saying goodbye to Anfield Road,' the report reads. That stance strongly suggests that Liverpool would be comfortable moving into the season with Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha as their left-wing options now that Luis Diaz has been sold to Bayern Munich. © IMAGO Liverpool's left-wing alternatives New signings - such as Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike - can also play wide left. Liverpool's transfer business could finally be coming to a close once Isak is onboarded. It's been a landmark summer of spending thus far - totalling around £260m before the estimated £135m deal for Isak is counted. The Reds may still require a centre-back but that could well be funded through departures of other players - including Tyler Morton and Harvey Elliott.

Bus times to Bolton Wanderers first season game against Stockport County

Here are the times for the buses that Wanderers fans can take to the team's first game of the season. Due to major engineering works, no trains will stop at Stockport station until the work finishes on Friday, August 22. Champions League club now want to sign a SECOND Liverpool star

Liverpool have conducted a landmark summer of spending - with Richard Hughes overseeing £260m-worth of new signings. And there promises to be more in store. The Reds could add Alexander Isak as a new option up top - which would require a British record fee of around £135m. And there is also a shortage of centre-backs - meaning the Anfield club could move for the likes of Marc Guehi or Ronald Araujo. 🔴 Shop the LFC Store 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! Chances are going to be at a premium for certain squad members - especially in attack. 🔴 Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas away range One player set to suffer is Federico Chiesa. The Italian only managed six appearances in the Premier League last season and appears surplus to requirements given the quality now at Arne Slot's disposal. Celtic interested in Chiesa Mo Salah and Jeremie Frimpong are set to reign on the right wing - meaning Chiesa will be permitted to leave. Atalanta and Napoli are among the Serie A sides linked with the 27-year-old - who joined from Juventus for a fee that could reach £12.5m. But now interest has emerged from inside the Premier League - in the form of Fulham - as well as Champions League club Celtic. Coached by former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, the Scottish champions are ready to sign Chiesa on loan. That's according to a new report in Sports Boom, which also claims the Cottagers retain an interest.
