Jeopardy! contestant won thanks to wildest Final Jeopardy coincidence

USA Today18 hours ago

I wouldn't label this a Jeopardy! controversy at all. It's just a crazy coincidence, one that producers and others could never have foreseen.
In a recent episode, contestants were given the Final Jeopardy clue of "Collections." Here's the clue: In 1896 the Vassar-educated wife of this man wrote, "Thousands of dollars may be paid for a copy of Shakespeare."
We'll give you 30 seconds to answer, as they do on the show. And the answer? Who is Henry Clay Folger?
Only Emily got the answer correct, and as Jeopardy! revealed on social media, it turns out that she has a familial connection to the Folger family! The "Vassar-educated wife" was Emily, who was Emily Croke's great-great-great-aunt ... and who she was named after!
I love Ken Jennings' reaction in the video above: "Emily Folger, the one we mentioned in the clue, is the person you, Emily Croke, are named after? WOW!"
Again: total coincidence, no harm, no foul. It's bound to happen with so many episodes and so many different clues, right? Just wild that it ended up that way.

'Emily in Paris' season 5 cast news confirmed by creator: Who's in and who's out?

Now that production has officially kicked off for "Emily in Paris" season 5, we'll be getting more frequent intel drops from the hit Netflix rom-com as we await the show's fifth installment. Fans already got a sneak peek of Lily Collins as Emily Cooper in her Italian era last month, and now comes more news about some cast changes — but not the one you think. Series star Lucas Bravo, who has played hunky chef and Emily's erstwhile amour Gabriel since season 1, grabbed headlines recently for expressing some frustration with his character's development. 'The 'sexy chef' was very much part of me in season 1 and we grew apart season after season because of the choices he makes and because of the direction they make him take,' Bravo told IndieWire in October 2024. 'I've never been so far away from him.' His comments fueled speculation over whether the Frenchman would return for the fifth chapter of Emily's story, but the actor was spotted filming for the show this past May. And in a recent interview for Deadline, creator Darren Star confirmed Bravo's involvement. "Just a misunderstanding,' he said of Bravo's former comments. 'I think he was never intending not to come back.' As for Gabriel's storyline this season, Star added: '[Emily's] love life is always complicated. We have Marcello, Lucas Bravo is going to be back this season, so we have some interesting, surprising developments in terms of her love life.' Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. However, one key player in Gabriel's storylines won't be returning for "Emily in Paris" season 5: Series regular Camille Razat, who has portrayed Gabriel's ex and Emily's friend Camille deLalisse for the past four seasons. The actress announced her departure in April via social media: "After an incredible journey, I've made the decision to step away from 'Emily in Paris.' It has been a truly wonderful experience, one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories," Razat posted on Instagram. A post shared by Camille Razat (@camillerazat) A photo posted by on After writing that she's "deeply grateful" to Star and the rest of the Netflix team, Razat said of playing Camille: "This character has meant a lot to me, and I feel that her storyline has naturally come to an end. It felt like the right moment to explore new horizons." She also shared that she would follow up "Emily in Paris" with roles in "Nero" on Netflix and "The Lost Station Girls" for Disney Plus, and that she has launched her own production company TAZAR. "I leave the show with nothing but love and admiration for the cast, crew, and fans who have supported us along the way," the post ended. "Thank you for the beautiful ride." Star confirmed Razat's departure to Deadline, adding: "I think her story kind of had a natural finish.' In her place, though, another "Emily in Paris" actor will be bumped up some series regular status: Though fans only got to see him for a few eps back in season 4, Lucien Laviscount will return to the series main cast as Alfie for the fifth installment. 'Lucien is basically in every episode this season,' Star told Deadline. 'He's terrific, and I'm really happy to see him back this year in a more significant way.' Season 5 of "Emily in Paris" is expected to premiere on Netflix later this year. Tom's Guide will keep you posted on all things related to the show's fifth season, including release info, plot points and character details.

Emily in Paris Season 5: Release date buzz, cast updates and what to expect next

By Aman Shukla Published on June 25, 2025, 18:30 IST Last updated June 25, 2025, 10:45 IST Emily in Paris fans are still reeling from Season 4's wild ride, and with Season 5 officially greenlit, the excitement is off the charts. From Emily's new Roman adventure to major cast changes, here's the latest scoop on when the show might drop, who's in (and who's out), and what to expect from our favourite fashion-forward expat. Let's dive in! When Will Emily in Paris Season 5 Hit Netflix? Season 4 wrapped filming in May 2024 and hit screens in August (Part 1) and September (Part 2). That's about a three-month turnaround from wrap to release. If Season 5 follows a similar schedule, with filming likely ending around August or September 2025, we could see it as early as November or December 2025. A holiday-season drop would be perfect for cozying up with Emily's latest drama. But if post-production gets tricky—say, with all those gorgeous Roman shots—early 2026 is also possible. Who's in the Cast for Season 5? The Emily in Paris crew is back with some familiar faces. Here's the lowdown: Lily Collins (Emily Cooper) : Our girl Emily is front and center, juggling her marketing job and love life between Paris and Rome. Collins is also a producer, so expect her to shine. : Our girl Emily is front and center, juggling her marketing job and love life between Paris and Rome. Here's hoping he brings back that flirty spark. : The dreamy chef is back, even though Bravo's been vocal about wanting Gabriel to ditch the mopey vibes from Season 4. William Abadie (Antoine): The perfume tycoon is back to stir up trouble for Emily and Sylvie. What's Next for Emily and the Gang? Season 5 picks up right after the Season 4 finale, with Emily settling into her new gig running Agence Grateau's Rome office. Creator Darren Star has promised a mix of Parisian chic and Italian flair, so expect plenty of gelato-fueled drama and stunning cityscapes. Here's what we're hyped for: Storylines to Watch Emily's Roman Holiday: Emily's not moving to Rome full-time—phew, Paris fans—but her work with Marcello's family business will keep her busy in Italy. Think cobblestone streets, Vespa rides, and maybe a few too many espressos. Star says the show will balance both cities, so we'll still get those iconic Parisian cafe scenes. Love Triangle Drama: Gabriel's surprise visit to Rome at the end of Season 4 screams trouble. He's fresh off his Michelin-star win but still hung up on Emily. Meanwhile, Marcello's all-in on their budding romance, and Alfie's lurking with unresolved feelings. Will Emily finally choose, or is another messy love square coming? Sylvie's Next Chapter: With her romance with Giancarlo heating up and a new royal friend in Princess Jane, Sylvie's poised for some personal growth. Will she keep ruling the agency with an iron fist? Mindy's Big Break: After Season 4's Eurovision hustle, Mindy's music career is at a crossroads. Will she and Emily stay tight while chasing their dreams in different cities? Gabriel's Glow-Up: Fans (and Lucas Bravo) want Gabriel to ditch the brooding chef act. Maybe Season 5 gives him a fresh start, professionally and romantically.
