Frimpong completes Liverpool move as Celtic receive cash boost
The right-back joined the Bundesliga outfit from Celtic in 2021.
The Parkhead club inserted a clause in the deal that meant they would receive 30 per cent of any future profit made on Frimpong by Leverkusen.
Given they have now sold him to Liverpool for £33.7m and they bought him for £11.5m, Celtic will receive a welcome sum of £6.7m, just in time for the summer transfer window.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com about the move, the speedy full-back said: 'It went quite easily. Liverpool came and said they had interest, and obviously for me, it was a no-brainer.
'For me, it was like, 'Whatever you guys do, just get this done', [speaking to] my agents: 'Just get this done.'
'Liverpool fans, I'm going to give my all, my energy, my work-rate, and hopefully we can win together, we celebrate together, and get everything together.
'I'm just excited to be here. Thank you guys for accepting me, and I won't let you guys down, and I'll give you the energy that you guys want.'

Frimpong was brought to Glasgow's east end from Manchester City's academy in 2019. He burst onto the scene under Neil Lennon and played his part in nine-in-a-row and quadruple treble successes.
Now, after four and a half years at the BayArena, in which he won a Bundesliga title and DFB-Pokal, the Dutchman is on the move to Anfield.
He joins Liverpool to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is on his way to Real Madrid.
Arne Slot's men are the reigning English champions, with Frimpong coming in to strengthen their title defence ahead of next season. The 24-year-old will link up with fellow former Celtic defender and international teammate Virgil Van Dijk at Anfield.

Gary Neville left stunned by Liverpool after 'incredible' £10m transfer
Gary Neville has been left stunned by Liverpool raking in £10million for Trent Alexander-Arnold - despite the full-back only having one month remaining on his contract. Real Madrid announced the signing of the full-back ahead of the transfer window opening. Alexander-Arnold, 26, heads to the Spanish capital to link up with Los Blancos in time for the beginning of the Club World Cup. Real have been keen to secure his signature early, and saw an approach to the Reds turned down in January. The new La Liga star has signed a six-year contract at the Bernabeu and Les Merengues handed Liverpool an £8.4m fee. The Reds also save a month of Alexander-Arnold's salary as Real Madrid pick up the tab to see the Anfield side earn a tidy £10m package. The Spanish giants will be relieved to have a right-back at their disposal having seen Federico Valverde and Lucas Vasquez fulfill the role after Dani Carvajal was ruled out for the season. New boss Xabi Alonso will be able to call upon Alexander-Arnold from the beginning of his tenure. Ex-Manchester United captain and Salford City co-owner Neville is in disbelief at the deal. Though, he can understand the thought process the Club World Cup hopefuls went through. "Honestly, no, I mean, I'm stunned by that really, that £10m has changed hands for, but there is £100m pounds at stake in this World Club Championship and Real Madrid have got a great chance of doing it," he said on the It's Called Soccer podcast on the US Overlap channel. "So you imagine if he plays in this tournament, they haven't got a right back that's playing there naturally at this moment in time. So it could be money well spent in four or five weeks. "I just find it crazy that you're spending £10m to have a player for five, six games. It's incredible." Neville has been impressed with Liverpool's work so far this summer. The Reds have signed Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen and look set to add Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez to their ranks too. He said: "I think when you're talking about winning the league, what is it that improves you? I mean, the only thing that's going to improve you when you win the league is signing world-class players, or players that have got the potential to be world-class players. So signing Wirtz is fantastic. "Frimpong and then there's talk of Kerkez as well, deals with their right and left-back situations. So to get those three done, if they were to get those three done quite quickly, would be smart business. But I wouldn't have expected anything else from Liverpool. "Maybe slightly surprised that they've gone so heavy on Wirtz in terms of the fee. They don't normally go that big, but Slot deserves it, by the way. He waited 12 months for a player to sign." Liverpool's Rayan Cherki agreement amid ongoing Florian Wirtz transfer talks
Liverpool boss Arne Slot honoured a previous agreement to meet with Lyon star Rayan Cherki over a transfer to the Reds, but that was before their Florian Wirtz chase accelerated Arne Slot remained a man of his word by flying out to meet Rayan Cherki, but now he'll be hoping Florian Wirtz sticks to his guns too. As reported on Tuesday, the Liverpool manager honoured a previous commitment when he met with the Lyon attacker and his entourage for transfer discussions over a move this summer. There is of course a lot to like about the 21-year-old Frenchman who has turned heads at Lyon this season, enjoying something of a breakthrough campaign in front of goal by netting 12 times - more than double his previous tally in an individual season. His displays, a more than reasonable asking price and Lyon's acceptance that he is likely to leave this summer have made Cherki one of the hottest properties on the market, and all of the elite clubs want to be part of the conversation. But Slot, and probably Cherki, will know the young Frenchman's place in Liverpool's list of priorities. As detailed in The Athletic 's report, the Reds boss had agreed to the meeting before Liverpool made a breakthrough in their attempts to sign Wirtz, and although the lack of progress in what would be a club record move for the German is making some Reds fans nervous, there is still hope and expectation on all sides that the deal can be done. Liverpool have so far had two bids for Wirtz rejected, the latter coming in at around £109million which was turned down on Friday, but Leverkusen haven't rejected those offers out of hand and instead want to keep the Reds at the table. That's because the alternative would be to lose Wirtz to Bayern Munich, something that would reduce their already slim Bundesliga title hopes still further, and so the goal remains to sell their crown jewel outside of Germany. After initially jockeying for position alongside Manchester City, Liverpool got themselves to the front of that queue, and Slot impressed Wirtz and his camp when he put his vision for the player forward. With Wirtz simultaneously less than inspired by what he was presented with at Bayern Munich, his mind was made up over a move to Anfield, leaving it in the hands of the money men to thrash out the deal. His only hope has been to get the transfer concluded as quickly as possible, ideally before Germany's UEFA Nations League semi-final against Portugal on Wednesday, but of course that doesn't have to be a hard deadline. Leverkusen have raised possibility of the Reds including a player in the deal to bridge the financial gap, but Liverpool are still convinced a straight financial package can be struck. All parties certainly hope so at least, with Slot's visit to Cherki nothing more than an insurance policy.
