Mums need to stop wearing leggings, there is nothing sexy about them and they are ruining your confidence, stylist says
She insisted you don't have to spend a fortune to dress nicely, and feel more confident LEG-GO Mums need to stop wearing leggings, there is nothing sexy about them and they are ruining your confidence, stylist says Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IT'S an outfit donned by mums worldwide on a daily basis. But according to one stylist, there's "nothing sexy" about leggings and a jumper - and "nothing about the look that makes you feel good about yourself" either. In a recent episode of The Clo's Show, she met up with mum-of-three Lesley, to help her get out of her style rut, and express herself with her outfits. "I'm a stylist and I work with women every single day that suffer with their style confidence because they have been wearing this uniform of leggings," she began. "Are you over 40, feeling meh and still stuck in leggings?" Clo wrote over the top of a TikTok clip of the installment. "Watch Lesley ditch her leggings and get her confidence back!" Lesley admitted she was "so stuck in the mindset of the leggings" that she just stuck them on in the morning before the school run. But when Clo started to show her some other wardrobe options, she began to realise that she would be a lot more confident wearing something else. And as an added bonus, Lesley already had all the clothes she needed in her wardrobe. In the first outfit, she wore a pair of wide-legged black trousers and white slogan T-shirt, as she said: "I feel great. I feel very comfortable. "It's actually nice to be out of the leggings!" My favourite outfit has been labelled 'frumpy & ageing' by cruel fashionistas, but screw them… I'll be buried wearing it "So what would stop you in the morning from not wearing this to drop the kids off or go to work in?" Clo asked Lesley. "Look how happy Lesley was by just getting out of those leggings and putting on a plain pair of black wide leg pants that she bought in Tesco," she added. "Look at the difference they make for her confidence!" "The beauty of this is not only did Lesley not spend a penny, but her confidence has been elevated through the roof and she now understands how easy it is to put fab outfits together and how easy it is to mix and match her stuff," Clo added in the description for the YouTube video. People were quick to comment on the video, with many agreeing with Clo's fashion analysis. "I refuse to have leggings, tracksuits, baggy tops in my wardrobe," one wrote. Styling tips for women 50+ Our Fabulous Fashion Editor Clemmie Fieldsend shares her top tips... GET A BRA FIT: Underwear is the foundation to every single outfit, so make sure your bra is the correct fit. If you're off to a good start you'll finish with a great outfits. EMBRACE COLOUR: Bright colours will lift your skin tone and will give you glowing skin. INVEST IN GOOD BASICS: You'll need your essentials like a good pair of straight leg jeans, white shirt, white t-shirt, black blazer and well made black shoe. You can't go wrong with rotating them when you don't know what to wear. AVOID SHAPELESS: Hiding your figure under shapeless silhouettes is doing to date you and make you look frumpy. Try fitted clothes that aren't figure hugging - you need to be able to breathe. EXPERIMENT: Try different items you wouldn't usually go for and mix them with what you already have. The results can mean a better dressed and more confident you. "I love to wear nice clothes daily - and it's cheaper than people think." "Yes!!!" another said. "It's all about how you feel and being in an outfit that makes your feel put together regardless of what you're doing." "I'm 43 and I stopped wearing leggings a few weeks now," a third commented. "I've a bit of a belly and skinny legs so I looked like Mr Tayto, so stopped wearing them as I felt leggings made my stomach look bigger."

But Diana, 33, whose new podcast Just Between Us with relationship guru Alice Giddings debuted this week, doesn't believe Sabrina should be judged for how she uses her own body. In an exclusive interview with The Sun, she said: "I absolutely love Sabrina Carpenter, I think she's amazing. "I think she's absolutely gorgeous and playful and beautiful and talented and I just rate her. I think that women should be able to be sexy and do whatever they want with their bodies and not have any judgement. Advertisement "I think that we think that we're moving forward but sometimes you go on TikTok and look at comments and there's these trolls, isn't there? You think that you're taking a step forward but people are so quickly to turn and judge about female bodies and being over sexual, but then people say if you're not sexual enough then they judge you as well, it's like women sometimes just can't get it right and it's hard. "People are always going to say something, but I think that she is absolutely, I'm obsessed with that girl, so I think go for it girl." Diana, who found fame in 2009 when she reached the semi-final of The X Factor, has always been an open book when it comes to her own love life. She even turns her dating past into hilarious comedy songs on her other podcast Ki & Dee. Advertisement Now she's being more candid than ever, exploring topics including female orgasms and losing virginity. "I've always just been quite open about who I am and I don't hide away from those conversations," she said. Diana Vickers goes topless to show off sunburn after 'drinking three bottles of wine at 11am in the sun' on holiday "We had a caller the other day and she was talking about losing her virginity and we just have to sort of open up and talk about all of our experiences, and I guess I've never really spoken about that publicly before, but you sort of just get stuck in and end up having a really interesting conversation and learning about everyone's different experiences. "A caller rang me the other week and she couldn't have any orgasms. No table is left unturned and you've sort of just got to deep dive in." Single and ready to mingle, Diana, 33, recently squeezed in a brunch date and found herself getting to know a guy over eggs and avocado. 4 Diana shares tales from her dating life in her new podcast Credit: Instagram 4 Diana found fame on The X Factor in 2008 Credit: ITV Advertisement She said: "I do think with me it's quite important to be with someone that's in the creative industry, I've always sort of gone for those people and I think that it helps understand because it's all a bit mad, there's no schedule, it's all over the place. "I'm super creative and I need someone to connect with and understand me. "I think some people have been a bit overwhelmed by things before, about how fast paced things go with me." A creative powerhouse, Diana scored a number one in 2009 with both her debut single, Once, and album, Songs from The Tainted Cherry Tree. Advertisement Her follow up LP, Music to Make Boys Cry, charted at 37. In the years since, Diana has made a name for herself on stage, most recently playing Gwyneth Paltrow in I Wish You Well - a comedic musical retelling the actress's 2023 court case in which she was sued after colliding with a man on a ski slope. But Diana hasn't forgotten her first love of creating original music, and we could soon hear new material. She said: "I have got some stuff there and it's really, really good, and I have got a team around me that we are working on. It's just now about when to launch it sort of thing, but it's really good and it's really exciting, and I do want the world to hear it. Advertisement "I've said I'll always make a comeback for the gays and the girlies, I have a really big gay following and this year I headlined Edinburgh Pride. I do a lot of gay gigs and they just really, really love it." Until then, Diana won't be short of inspiration as the nation's newest agony aunt. Starbucks launches new 'birthday' drink but people are divided
Starbucks has added a limited-edition sweet drink with a funky cup as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations - and fans are rushing to get their hands on it, but one detail has caused confusion Starbucks fans have been rushing to their nearest chain to get their hands on a brand new drink that comes with a funky reusable cup and sprinkles on top. The coffee giant, which has been running since the 1970s, often changes up its food and drink menu and has launched a celebration drink to mark a major milestone. The new and colourful Birthday Frappuccino is available now for a limited period. "It's not always on the menu, but that's part of what makes it special," Starbucks insists. However, some fans have been left confused by the product and when they can get it. Despite being called a 'Birthday drink', anyone can buy the new beverage, even if it is not your birthday. However, there is a simple explanation for the moniker - the name comes as Starbucks celebrates three decades since the first Frappuccino was served in one of their chains. Starbucks first made the celebratory drink back in 2015, to mark 20 years of the Frappuccino. It was only sold for a few days, but it became very popular. People loved it so much that Starbucks brought it back in some countries for a short time in later years. Even though it's not on the menu all the time, fans still talk about it and share their own versions online. Describing the product, Starbucks said: "The drink is sweet and smooth, perfect for people who want something fun and don't like coffee. It's a great choice for both kids and adults." It is available from today until July 17. A Tall (small) version of the drink will cost you £3.95. If you opt for Grande (medium) it set you back between £4.45 and £4.75, while a Venti (large) version is priced between £5.10 and £5.25. In a TikTok post, Starbucks Honiton Road said: "It's here in the UK! We are celebrating 30 years since the first frappuccino was served. Order a grande size and receive a free reusable cup with your order." Starbucks Cleckheaton added: "Come grab your birthday Frappuccino with a free cup at our store while stocks last!". "I had it, it was soo good," commented one person. One individual went to Starbucks earlier today and shared a video on TikTok as they sampled the drink. They said: "Anyone else getting Starbucks Birthday Frappuccino purely for the reusable cup? Because I am." They added: "The cups are available until they run out I suppose! So run don't walk." "I didn't know this was a thing, thank you," commented one. "Omg I wanted the cup too," added another. Article continues below News Foods UK also shared a picture of the delight on Instagram - and people rushed to comment. "I want this cup!," said one. "Definitely getting that tomorrow," added another. Another tagged their friend and wrote: "Birthday frappuccino just in time for yours."
