OnePlus Pad 3 global launch is set for June 5, OnePlus has confirmed. The company made the announcement through a post on X (formerly Twitter) confirming that the flagship tablet will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The Pad 3 will also bring an updated version of OnePlus' multitasking interface called Open Canvas, which lets users run multiple apps at once in a flexible layout.OnePlus shared the first look of the tablet with the launch date announcement. It seems the global variant is different from the version sold in China. Instead, it looks like the rebranded version of the Pad 2 Pro which is another OnePlus tablet available in China.

The tablet will be expected to be 5.97mm thick. These specifications are in line with what's available on the Pad 2 Pro in China. The tablet will run OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15. The new version of the operating system is expected to include additional multitasking tools and some AI-based features, such as smarter app handling and voice interaction.Powering the tablet could be a 12,140mAh battery, which supports 67W fast wired charging. On the camera front, the OnePlus Pad 3 is expected to include a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. On the accessories side, OnePlus is likely to introduce a keyboard with a built-in trackpad and a stylus, though they may be sold separately.OnePlus Pad 3 pricing and India availabilityOnePlus has not confirmed if the Pad 3 will arrive in India or its tentative global pricing. However, in China, the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro starts at CNY 3,199 (roughly Rs 38,000). The top-end variant with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at CNY 3,999 (around Rs 47,000).

Mukesh Ambani announces 151cr endowment to his alma mater ICT

Mumbai: When Mukesh Ambani — India's richest man and chairman of Reliance Industries — returned to his alma mater, the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), he didn't just bring memories and his speech. He brought a tribute. A Rs 151-crore endowment, the largest in the institute's history, was announced on Friday. The occasion was the launch of Anita Patil's 'The Divine Scientist', a biography of Padma Vibhushan professor Man Mohan Sharma, described by many as the towering intellect who shaped Indian chemical engineering talent. When speaking of Guru Dakshina, Ambani announced the grant of Rs 151 crore to ICT, as per Sharma's instructions. "When he tells us something, we just told me, 'Mukesh, you have to do something big for ICT', and I am pleased to announce that for Prof Sharma," Ambani said, referring to the grant. "Most respected Prof Sharma," he addressed everyone, "my fellow Udcitians, coming to UDCT campus, I still call it that, has always felt like coming to a sacred temple. Prof Sharma, my warm respects to you as my most respected guru, my mentor, and my enduring source of inspiration." Praising Patil, he said: "It is a Herculean task to chronicle the life of a legend like Sharma." "I chose UDCT over IIT-Bombay," Ambani said, recalling the conviction of youth. That conviction was sealed when he attended Sharma's very first lecture. "I realised he is an alchemist, not of metals, but minds: he has the power to transform curiosity into knowledge, knowledge into commercial value, and both knowledge and commercial value into everlasting wisdom." Crediting the rise of the Indian chemical industry to Sharma's efforts, Ambani referred to him as a 'Rashtra Guru — a Guru of Bharat'. "He is our Yugpurush," said prof J B Joshi, former head of ICT. Not with reverence alone, but with the clarity of someone who saw how Sharma's life was distilled into a single principle: "Be a good teacher, do research at the frontier of knowledge, and use that for industry and society." Prof G D Yadav, former head at ICT, offered a staggering number — 1,300 PhDs trace their academic lineage to Sharma, directly or through those he mentored. "He is omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent," said Yadav, invoking a title rarely uttered outside epics: "Bhramarishi." PhysicsWallah acquisition deal of Drishti IAS called off due to..., deal was worth Rs...

New Delhi: In the first week of April, we had reported that Vikas Divyakirti, who runs Drishti IAS coaching center, wanted to sell his education business and Physics Wallah had shown interest in buying the business. It was further mentioned that this deal would be completed for Rs 2,500 crore, making it the biggest deal in the world of edutech. Alakh Pandey is famous as PhysicsWallah among crores of students of the country. Now, as per the latest news coming in says that the much publicised acquisition of Drishti IAS by PhysicsWallah has been called off. The deal was in advanced stages but ultimately fell through due to multiple reasons, according to a report by Entrackr. PhysicsWallah was actively exploring acquisitions to strengthen its position in the civil services preparation segment as suggested by multiple reports in April. Drishti IAS is one of the most famous names in UPSC coaching, especially among Hindi-medium aspirants. According to the report, Drishti IAS evaluated the proposal after being approached by PhysicsWallah. However, considering its strong financial performance and independent growth, the company decided not to go ahead with the deal. The report added that Drishti IAS is currently not looking to raise external funds or be acquired. Founded in 1999, Drishti IAS has built a strong presence in the civil services coaching space. In the financial year 2023–24, the Delhi-based institute reported revenue of Rs 405 crore and a profit after tax of Rs 90 crore which indicates that the institute is also expected to post healthy growth in FY25. PhysicsWallah, which originally focussed on online coaching for engineering and medical entrance exams, has recently been expanding into UPSC and other competitive exams. It was in this regard that its acquisition of Drishti IAS was seen as a strategic step to strengthen its offline footprint and diversify its educational offerings, particularly ahead of its planned stock market debut. Both PhysicsWallah and Drishti IAS have not officially responded to the matter till the time of filing this report. (With IANS inputs)
