EXCLUSIVE: Camille Guaty spills the skincare secrets that saved her during her fertility battle - plus her screen comeback and embracing her power as a female force

From Disney Channel to Duster — Camille Guaty is a force to be reckoned with. The decorated actress has been in the entertainment biz for over two decades, with one of her first notable roles being on Disney Channel's show Gotta Kick It Up back in 2002. Now, she is embarking on a groundbreaking adventure with her role as Izzy Reyna in J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan's new HBO Max show Duster, which officially premiered on May 15th, 2025. Duster is a historical fiction action-packed show that follows the first African American female FBI agent who creates an unexpected partnership with a mob getaway driver during the 70s. Guaty's character Izzy plays a pivotal role throughout the series and is known for her grit and determination. 'I remember the chemistry read with J.J. Abrams so well... It's the end scene for Josh and I, and he starts crying, and I start crying, and J.J. goes like, cut, print, put that up on TV right now,' said Guaty. Guaty steps into this new role with a unique perspective as a mother and longtime actress who has grown up in what is considered a male-dominated industry and fought for women's voices. 'To see my character who is a truck driver... You know, she is a single mother. And to see what she has gone through — and that she uses her voice, such a small voice, but that small voice made such a big change. And I think it is so important to see these types of characters on television.' Asides from appearing on screen, Guaty has spent many years of her career using her platform to speak out on subjects that directly affect women, especially infertility, after suffering through it herself. A big point of mention was how her skin underwent significant hurdles during long IVF attempts and what she did to combat it during her on-camera career. 'It wasn't until I started doing IVF that I was like, wow, what's happening with my skin? What's happening with my face?' said Guaty. But the Nashville based actress has spent years finding ways to persevere, and taking care of her skin through ' active ingredients ' has been her secret to success. Guaty turns to three staple brands for all her beauty: Skinbetter, Biopelle, and NEQI. 'I have a few products that I absolutely love... This is a vitamin C serum that has more than just the serum. I know vitamin C is everywhere, but this one in particular has a whole bunch of other yummy goodness in it!,' said Guaty while sharing her love for luxe brand Skinbetter. Skinbetter Science Alto Advanced Defense and Repair Serum 'I know vitamin C is everywhere, but this one in particular has a whole bunch of other yummy goodness in it.' Guaty can not get enough of this serum that is packed with nourishing ingredients, including Vitamin C and E. Whether you are fighting hyperpigmentation (like Guaty) or just looking for healthier, brighter skin — this serum has got you. $97.90 Shop During her journey to motherhood, Guaty found herself fighting hyperpigmentation, and it was this sneaky snail mucin serum that she swore by to combat it, 'This snail serum growth factor... I am telling you this right here is like five facials in this tiny little bottle. It's amazing.' Biopelle Tensage Intensive Serum 50 Snail Mucin has been taking the world by storm and it seems Camille Guaty as well! 'So I know, like, everyone's all into the snail stuff, but I'm telling you this right here is like five facials in this tiny little bottle!' These powerful, luxury serum capsules pack a punch with intense hydration and science backed brightening. $195 The Duster actress also noted that there is one Target hair brand that has become her recent obsession for her curly locks, and shockingly their products are less than $15. 'So, it is target prices... but it works like it is a $50 product,' said Guaty. She also noted that despite her love for the finer things, she'd be remiss not to mention that she thinks her character Izzy Reyna would be much simpler, resorting to just two products — lemon and Vaseline. NEQI Diamond Glass Styling Spray All Hair 'This is from Target... it looks really expensive and it smells really expensive.' You can shop a handful of NEQI products directly online and in stores at Target! This spray according to Guaty holds frizz back and gives effortless volume for hours on end. $14.69 Shop Whether she is shopping for skincare or starring in the hottest new television series, Guaty is committed to not just entertaining people, but creating a better and brighter future for women like herself. In the words of Camille Guaty, 'It just takes one person, and then you speak to another person, and you speak to another person, and you start your own coalition... and you can make things happen. You can make a change.'

'It was like a slap in the face!' Hearsay singer Suzanne Shaw reveals agony of being cut out of her father's will as she claims her stepmother inherited everything

Hearsay singer Suzanne Shaw, 43, has revealed that she was left out of her father's will which she described as 'like a slap in the face'. Her cameraman father Vincent Crowshaw died in September 2012, and the pop star has claimed that her family became 'divided' in the aftermath of his death. The former Emmerdale actress confessed she no longer speaks to members of her family following the fallout over his inheritance and claims her stepmother pocketed the cash that he had intended to 'split equally'. Speaking on Channel 5's Vanessa, the singer opened up about the dramatic rows that followed her father's death from a brain tumour. Suzanne said: 'My dad passed away very sadly. A divided family as he had remarried. My brother got some inheritance but it was only his business he inherited and then my stepmum got all of it and it was meant to be split equally.' 'She's now remarried, everything has gone to her side of the family and I got nothing out of any of it. It's like a slap in the face. It's like you weren't valued. 'I know what it feels like. It is hard. What it causes is divide. We no longer speak to those people who were a big part of our life and that's sad.' She made the shock confession on Vanessa Feltz's Channel 5 show on Monday. TV presenter Carrie Grant, 59, told Suzanne that she had recently had a conversation with her husband about splitting her own estate equally between her children. She added: 'You're literally setting your children up for war aren't you?' Supernanny Jo Frost took to Instagram to give her views on the conversation between the pair. She said: ' a sad set of responses from both ladies, and might I add common, one feeling undervalued because of money and one afraid it will create divide.' 'Families you need to have conversations now and make decisions based on what is morally right and raise your children with no expectation of your wealth. None of us are entitled to another person's purse. Have the conversations.' Suzanne has previously spoke of the pain of his death, she said: 'What was hardest was witnessing his rapid deterioration. It was a very tough time for the family.' In March 2012, cameraman Vincent was diagnosed with a grade four glioblastoma tumour following blood tests and an MRI scan. Courses of radiotherapy and chemotherapy failed to shrink the growth and the family received the devastating news that Vincent's condition was terminal and he had between 12 and 18 months to live. Suzanne said: 'The experts tell you how serious the situation is but you don't really believe them until you see it and I always thought that, "My dad's invincible, there will be a miracle around the corner. He'll be fine. They'll get rid of the tumour".' In September 2012, and with his daughter and the rest of his immediate family at his bedside, Vincent died just six months after his diagnosis. 'The change in him during those last few weeks was both mentally and physically shocking,' actress Suzanne has said. 'He ended up in a wheelchair in his final days and was having seizures. He was extremely confused, he didn't know what was going on around him and in the end his body just broke down.' 'In the summer he got to the point where he realised he was going to die. He just said, "I'm going to live the rest of my life the way I want to live it," and that's exactly what he did.' 'We were all by his side. It was really nice and we all did everything that he wanted to do. We watched his favourite TV shows and everything that he really loved.' 'We played his favourite songs and we all sat there chatting and that's the way he would have wanted to go, with his close family around him. We all said goodbye to him and there was nothing left unsaid.' Her agony was made more difficult for Suzanne as it coincided with the breakdown of her three-year marriage to Radio 1 DJ Jason King. Suzanne said at the time it was only her son Corey, from her relationship with actor Darren Day, who kept her going. 'There were many days when everything felt too much and things got on top of me,' she said. 'That's part of grieving but I just coped by taking it one day at a time. It was a really tough part of my life but you look back and it makes you stronger.'
