Standards Authority launches market, gas station monitoring campaigns

The Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control has initiated field operations to monitor markets in Taiz province and gas stations in Dhamar province.
In Taiz, the Authority has commenced a 10-day campaign targeting markets and shops to inspect food products, ensure accurate weights and measurements of packaged goods, and educate vendors on proper product display and trading requirements, especially with the approach of Ramadan.
Director of the Authority's Taiz branch Eng. Riyadh Al-Bukhaiti urged consumers to scrutinize product labels and validity dates, and to avoid non-compliant goods. The campaign includes distributing informational brochures to shop owners about trading standards.
Simultaneously, in Dhamar, the Authority concluded a periodic monitoring and calibration program for domestic gas filling stations and industrial facility measuring tools.
Director of the Authority's Dhamar branch Dr. Yahya al-Dabai emphasized the importance of verifying that measuring and weighing tools have the Authority's verification sticker to prevent commercial fraud.
He also reiterated the need for adherence to Yemeni standard specifications, safety regulations, and legal standards.
These campaigns underscore the Authority's commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring fair trade practices across Yemen.

Deputy Prime Minister Al-Madani & Lahj Governor inaugurate service projects in Al-Qabitah District
Lahj - Saba: Deputy Prime Minister for Local Administration and Rural Development, Mohammed Al-Madani, alongside Lahj Governor Ahmed Juraib, inaugurated on Tuesday several community initiative projects and direct intervention projects in developmental and service sectors in Al-Qabitah District. Al-Madani and Juraib also inaugurated ten stone-paving projects under the Road Initiatives Support Program, 106 water projects under the Water and Sanitation Initiatives Support Program, two projects to enhance , reduce rural water costs, and an equipment maintenance project, with a total cost of 108,875,000 riyals. During the inauguration ceremony—attended by Ministry of Local Administration Undersecretaries Mansour Al-Lakumi, Jamal Al-Alawi, Ammar Al-Harib, and Ramah Hibah, as well as the Executive Director of the Central Interventions Unit, Engineer Shihab Al-Shami—Deputy Prime Minister Al-Madani emphasized the importance of supporting agricultural and developmental activities in partnership with the community, leveraging the resources available in Al-Qabitah District. He noted that community engagement would be strengthened through the district's multipurpose cooperative association, which will facilitate the implementation of numerous projects in collaboration between the government, local authorities, and the community. Al-Madani stressed the focus on service and social aspects in the district, particularly in water and road infrastructure, while enhancing developmental progress through partnerships between government entities, local authorities, and the community. He also affirmed the Central Interventions Unit's continued support for local authorities, prioritizing economic empowerment programs to transform community members into productive contributors. For his part, Governor Juraib praised the government's efforts in supporting local authorities to provide services and advance development. Abu Nashtan & Al-Saqaf inspect work discipline at Zakat Authority Offices
Sana'a - Saba: Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, Chairman of the General Zakat Authority, along with Deputy Chairman Ali Al-Saqaf, inspected the level of work discipline at the Authority's headquarters and its offices in the capital secretariat , Sana'a and Marib provinces on the first official workday after Eid al-Adha. Accompanied by the Director of Human Resources, Ali Al-Babili, they reviewed workflow and employee discipline at the Zakat Authority's office in the capital. They were briefed by the office director, Muhammad Al-Alfi, on the level of discipline at the main office and its branches in the districts following the holiday. Economy minister congratulates leadership on Eid al-Adha, praises Yemen's stance on Palestine

Moeen al-Mahaqeri, Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, on Saturday extended his heartfelt congratulations to Revolution Leader Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi and President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
