'Euphoria' Star Addresses Their ALS Diagnosis for the First Time

Yahooa day ago

A medical diagnosis is a deeply personal thing to Euphoria star Eric Dane. He shared the news with the world and that's enough.
The 52-year-old actor revealed he had amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, to People in April.
"I have been diagnosed with ALS,' Dane said to the publication. 'I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.'
He is back on the set of the HBO show for Season 3 while also promoting his new Prime Video series, Countdown, premiering on June 25. Dane broke his silence with Variety in a June 12 interview that shows how focused he is on his Hollywood work — he prefers not to make the ALS announcement a hot topic.
e
"With real respect, I really don't want to talk about it," he told the media outlet. "I made the announcement. That's what's going on with me; it's very personal to me. And I just want to keep talking about Countdown.'
Still, the gravity of the disease weighs on him because he wants to keep on working in the entertainment industry.
"I am ready and willing to do just about anything, but I have limitations that I understand will preclude me from playing certain roles," Dane said confidently. "I'm working on Euphoria. I finished Countdown. As far as that goes, I'm pretty capable."
According to the Mayo Clinic, ALS is a "nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord" which causes the loss of muscle control. There is currently no cure for the fatal disease, and the symptoms get worse over time.'Euphoria' Star Addresses Their ALS Diagnosis for the First Time first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 12, 2025

Why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Missed Trooping the Colour 2025

On Saturday, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, all attended the 2025 Trooping the Colour event to celebrate King Charles's birthday. The annual event is the public celebration of the king, though his actual birthday is in November. The family looked festive, with the boys matching their father's red military uniform with red ties complimenting their navy suits. Charlotte wore a pale blue look mirroring her mother, Kate Middleton, who had on a Catherine Walker coat dress modeled after a prior outfit worn by the late Princess Diana. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not at the event, having last publicly attended in 2019. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved to Montecito, California, in 2020, where they have been raising their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The couple has been unwilling to return to visit the U.K. together given concerns around security. Prince Harry has been fighting in court to have automatic police security re-established for his family, but they lost their appeal on the matter in April of this year. Last week, a source told People that the couple has different perspectives on how to move forward given the rift between Harry and King Charles. The king has been receiving cancer treatments, increasing the tension. 'They're aware of everything going on in England, but they're being left out of the details—there's clearly no trust,' said the insider, adding that Meghan is 'focused on the future,' and 'is very business about it.' The Duchess of Sussex 'wishes her husband could feel less burdened by the past and more present in the life they've built together.' But it has been 'difficult for him to even get proper updates about his dad,' which is painful for the duke.

Princess Eugenie Just Hinted at Where She Stands With Prince William Amid His Feud With Her ‘Close' Cousin Harry

Princess Eugenie has been close cousins with Prince Harry since they were kids, but where does she stand with his brother (and enemy), Prince William? It looks like she isn't taking sides in the brothers' feud. Eugenie hinted that she's on good terms with William at a garden party at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, May 20, hosted by William and his wife, Kate Middleton. Also in attendance were William and Eugenie's cousin Zara Tindall; their aunt and uncle Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh; and King Charles' cousin Prince Edward, Duke of Gloucester, and his wife, Birgitte van Deurs Henriksen. 'The Duke remains close to Princess Eugenie. They always have and always will be,' a source told the magazine at the time. Related: A timeline of those Prince William and Rose Hanbury affair rumors The report came after Piers Morgan claimed on his talk show Piers Morgan Uncensored that Harry went 'completely ballistic' at Eugenie for being photographed with Morgan and others at a pub in London. People's source denied Morgan's claim. As for William and Harry, it doesn't look like the brothers will reconcile anytime soon. A source told Page Six in May 2025 that the brothers haven't spoken in two years and that their relationship had become so bad that those close to the princes can't see Harry attending William's coronation when he becomes king. The insider also added that they couldn't even envision William inviting Harry after his BBC interview in which he blamed Charles for the his fallout with the royal family. 'I think it's done … I don't think there's [any] coming back from that,' the insider said. 'Before the interview, we thought, 'Come on William, extend a hand to your brother. But now it seems that Harry hasn't learned s–t.' A source also told Radar Online in May 2025 that Harry and William's feud has put a strain on his marriage to Kate, who is keen to reconcile with Harry. 'William is furious that Harry's speaking out again and doing interviews – he's convinced this isn't the end of it,' the insider said. 'He's made it clear to the rest of the family that they should keep their distance from the Sussexes, because anything shared could be turned against them.' The source continued, 'William doesn't like having to put his foot down with Kate, but he sees this as necessary to protect everyone. What he's most worried about is that anything Kate says to Harry could be twisted or resurface later – especially if there's another book, or if Meghan decides to tell her own side of the story.' The insider added that, while Kate is also 'upset' with Harry, she's more likely to forgive him to reunite the family. 'Kate's deeply upset with Harry, but she's also frustrated that William and the rest of the family have allowed things to deteriorate this badly,' the source said. 'It's heartbreaking for her to watch the family so publicly divided.'
