THE Coronation Street cast are furious over the latest impact of budget cuts after a string of stars were axed.
Bosses previously decided to slash the number of established characters in scenes taking place in the iconic Rovers Return pub in a bid to reportedly claw back cash.

Every time actors appear on-screen, they are due a per-episode fee, which can mount up for actors on lucrative deals.
The cash crisis at ITV also prompted an exodus of huge cast members from the hit soap.
Longtime stars such as Sue Cleaver, Colson Smith, Shelley King, and Sue Devaney have either quit or were forced to leave the cash-strapped serial drama.
And now, it would appear the cast have been left 'furious' after the latest impact, which has seen them paying for their own summer party.
The party is £22 per person, and they are also being asked for further contributions, especially as what they pay will only cover venue, entertainment and security so they have to pay for their own drinks.
A source told The Sun: 'It's been a difficult few months and people were really looking forward to the party, but it puts a bit of a dampener on things that they have to pay.
'It might not be a lot to some of the bigger known stars but for some staff it is. The fact that drinks aren't included is a real blow too. People aren't really that surprised though considering the constant budget cuts.'
The Sun has contacted ITV for comment.

A TV insider told The Sun in May: 'After the Daytime announcement, the big feeling within the soap departments at ITV is the cost-cutting focus will shift to them.
'There's been some seismic changes already over the past year in regards to penny pinching and many believe that's just the start.
'Given the big audience figures and institutional history within ITV, soaps used to have an untouchable feel about them.
'But that's changed significantly and they now feel more vulnerable than ever.'

Earlier this year, ITV announced from January 2026, both soaps will be reduced to five 30-minute episodes per week, rather than six, resulting in a one-hour reduction in soap content on the channel.
Bosses attempted to spin the new streamlined output by branding the new soap schedule as ITV's new 'Power Hour', with Emmerdale airing at 8pm followed by Coronation Street at 8:30pm, Monday to Friday.
However, the move is expected to cut up to 75 jobs, with many crewmembers already drafted into redundancy meetings.

Former Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote has suffered a huge loss after a fire ripped through her beauty business on Wednesday. The actress-turned-beautician, 34, who is best known for playing Katie Armstrong on the ITV soap, explained how the storage unit near Manchester caught ablaze. She said a slew of small studios and businesses, including her own, were affected by the blaze in an update shared to Instagram. Speaking in the clip, Georgia said: 'Unfortunately my little business was affected by a huge fire within the storage works unit in Middleton last night. 'Not only has my business burned down, but so has many other people's most loved possessions.' The former Strictly contestant then pleaded with fans to come forward with a donation, to help cover the costs of all the stock and equipment lost in the fire. Georgia continued: 'Even though as beauticians we can move into a new space, our stock and tools which we spend years collecting have all gone. 'We can no longer work, my friends and beauticians have to start again, with no way of making the money to buy these tools. I'm asking you all to give a little to help my friends rebuild their business.' The actress has endured a tumultuous time of late as she's recently opened up about a series of health struggles, including the skin condition vitiglio. Last year she appeared on This Morning Live, where she spoke about the condition which is caused by a lack of pigment in the skin. Then after a holiday to Egypt in May 2024, she shared a photo of her hands with the caption: 'Every time I go on holiday and I get a beautiful tan, I see how much my vitiligo has spread more than ever before. 'I would be lying if I didn't say it gets to me. It makes me feel super insecure at times. But seeing how the people around me support me and still love me the same makes my heart feel full. 'I've noticed people staring, having a good old nosey with their faces screwed up, and that's when my heart drops. 'So this is just a friendly reminder to those people to be kind. I'm sure the way it makes you feel is nothing in comparison to how the person with it feels.' After a holiday to Egypt, the Strictly Come Dancing runner up shared a picture of her hands and uploaded a lengthy post urging people to be kind The TV actress then expressed her wish to be a spokesperson for the unsightly condition. 'I'm proud to be a voice for people like me with the condition. I battle with how I feel about it every day,' she said. 'Today's one of those days I remember there is nothing I can do about it. So here we are. Showing it in all its glory (I do have lipstick on, but my whole colour has now gone in and around my lips).' Women fretted about swimwear while we were allowed to gracefully surrender into middle-age spread. We only had two beach role models, Peter Stringfellow with his thong, and David Hasselhoff, who spent half the 1980s sucking in his stomach and the other half driving a talking car. But today more is expected of us. Blame social media if you want. The world has moved on. Men are expected to care more about how they dress. But in the UK it seems we didn't get the memo and while Europeans got more stylish, British blokes spun off at a tangent, like a divergent timeline in Marvel's Loki series. But you can do better. Just look at Brad Pitt in his garish tie-dye tracksuit while out in New York City earlier this month. If a Hollywood superstar can't pull it off, you definitely can't. There are celebrity outliers, however. Take some pointers from Ryan Gosling, who makes it look easy with plain shirts and chinos, or David Beckham and his neutral bomber jacket, white T-shirt, pleated linen trousers and white trainers, or slightly more daring, Michael B Jordan in an animal print shirt with cool tonal trousers and leather shoes. Now we are re-establishing better relations with our continental brethren, it's time to smarten up our act — and the good news is, it's not hard. How do I know? Because I did it. I too was once like you, a hopeless summer fashion victim. I wore cargo shorts, West Ham footie shirts pulled over my dad-bod beer belly, and athleisure sandals. I didn't realise and was frog-marched from the pool by lifeguards who made me purchase tight trunks from a vending machine. Walking back into the pool in my tiny new Lycra swimwear was like the walk of shame in Game Of Thrones. Today a 5-inch inseam is as daring as I get (which is good style advice for any man). My fashion salvation happened after I met a younger, stylish woman, who is now my wife. Stephanie, 45, knocked me into shape and taught me how to dress. It didn't take a lot of effort and I even get compliments occasionally from my 23-year-old daughter and 18-year-old son. So, as you head off for your hols, take a few tips from me. Ditch the football shirts, no one in Mykonos cares about Burnley FC. Ditch anything with big logos on it. Wear leather sandals or espadrilles. Choose linen or seersucker short-sleeved shirts. You can't go wrong with a polo shirt and tailored shorts in neutral palettes. Replace your battered baseball cap with a Panama hat. Treat yourself to some understated sunglasses. Bodies should get some attention too. Before 2006, we could get away with a hairy dad bod, but then the film Casino Royale hit the big screen, and when Daniel Craig emerged from the sea like God chiselled from marble he ruined it for all of us. Now we're expected to look presentable in swimwear. So, get your back waxed, manscape your chest hair. Have a fake tan, but don't go mad. Ask for a light one. Get your eyebrows shaped and tinted. It's not unusual any more and makes a big difference, I promise. No one is going to think any less of you. Maybe swap a pint for a glass of rosé occasionally, or a mojito. Just a few small tweaks and the new stylish you will fit right in on beaches from the Costas to the Greek islands. Make the UK cool again, just don't mention Brexit.
