We will expose how Pakistan has become 'Aatankistan' during Operation Sindoor outreach: BJP MP Brijlal
New Delhi [India], May 21 (ANI): BJP MP Brijlal, who is part of a nine-member parliamentary delegation participating in India's Operation Sindoor outreach, on Wednesday said the team will visit five countries--Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia--as part of efforts to highlight Pakistan's continued involvement in terrorist activities.
'We will go from Japan to Korea, then Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. There are a group of parliamentarians. There are some experts also and we will go there and expose the actions of Pakistan which has become a terrorist nation,' Brijlal said.
He said this outreach is essential because of Pakistan's repeated involvement in major terrorist attacks in India. 'This is very necessary. Because the way Pakistan has acted, it continues to carry out many big terrorist incidents in our country. But we started responding to this in 2000.'
He recalled, 'When they did it in Uri, we carried out a surgical strike. In 2019, forty CRPF soldiers were killed in Pulwama, so we launched an Air strike on Balakot. We thought Pakistan would improve but it did not, and on April 22, twenty-five of our people were brutally murdered in Pahalgam.'
Brijlal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made it clear that terrorist sites would be destroyed. 'The Prime Minister said that we will destroy terrorist targets and we have ensured that they are decimated completely.'
He reiterated India's stand that civilians and military establishments in Pakistan were never the target. 'India had a clear stand that we do not want to attack Pakistan's army installations and their civilians. We will only attack the terrorists who cause this havoc in our country and we have done that by destroying nine bases of terrorists.'
He concluded by saying, 'By going to these countries, we will clarify our stand with the diplomats there as well as senior leaders. We will clarify India's policy and why Pakistan is a terror nation.'
In the context of Operation Sindoor and India's continued fight against cross-border terrorism, seven All-Party Delegations are set to visit key partner countries, including members of the UN Security Council later this month.
The All-Party Delegations will project India's national consensus and resolute approach to combating terrorism in all forms and manifestations. They would carry forth to the world the country's strong message of zero-tolerance against terrorism. (ANI)

'I don't want to defend the incident, the tragedy… our government is not going to play politics on this,' he added. 'This tragedy should not have happened, we are with the victims.' 'Distressing' Karnataka deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar said 'hundreds of thousands of people' had flocked onto the streets and that police had been 'finding it very difficult'. An AFP photographer saw vast crowds as a sea of people crammed the streets and police waved sticks. Broadcasters showed police rushing away from crowds carrying young children in their arms, who had seemingly fainted. 'I apologise to the people of Karnataka and Bengaluru,' Shivakumar said. 'We wanted to take a procession, but the crowd was very uncontrollable… the crowd was so much.' One unattended young man was sitting in an ambulance struggling to breathe. Bengaluru fans celebrated wildly after their hero Kohli and RCB clinched victory for the first time in the 18 years of the IPL, their three previous finals having all ended in defeat. A stampede at India's Kumbh Mela religious fair in January this year killed 30 people and injured several others. In July last year, 121 people were killed in northern Uttar Pradesh state during a Hindu religious gathering.

India sets date of population and caste census
The government had earlier announced inclusion of caste census in population survey. - Representational photo NEW DELHI: The world's most populous nation India will conduct a census in 2027, its first since 2011, the government said Wednesday (June 4), which will also count caste -- a controversial accounting not done since the country's independence. "It has been decided to conduct Population Census-2027 in two phases along with enumeration of castes," the Ministry of Home Affairs said in a statement. Most of the vast nation will take part in the census on March 1, 2027, but for the high-altitude Himalayan regions, the counting will take place earlier before snow sets in -- on October 1, 2026. Those areas include the states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, as well as in Ladakh, and the contested region of Jammu and Kashmir. Caste remains a crucial determinant of one's station in life in India, with a rigid societal chasm dividing those of higher castes -- the beneficiaries of ingrained cultural privileges -- from people of lower castes, who suffer entrenched discrimination. More than two-thirds of India's 1.4 billion people are estimated to be on the lower rungs of a millennia-old social hierarchy that divides Hindus by function and social standing. The decision to include detailed caste data as part of the next census -- originally due in 2021 -- was approved by a government meeting headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in May. Caste data was last collected as part of the official census exercise in 1931, during British colonial rule that ended with Indian independence 16 years later. Successive governments have since resisted updating the sensitive demographic data, citing administrative complexity and fears of social unrest. A caste survey was conducted in 2011 but its results were never made public because they were purportedly inaccurate. New Delhi [India], June 4 (ANI): After completing a five-nation diplomatic visit, BJP MP Brij Lal, part of the JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha-led delegation, said, 'Pakistan aims to hinder our progress by fueling terrorism,' highlighting the ongoing challenges India faces from its neighbour. 'Our delegation went to five countries, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. The response from all the countries was good. We wanted to show that we are a peaceful country and we don't want war. We want only development. That week, we became the fourth-largest economy in the world. We are going to be the third in two years, and by 2047, we will be a 'Viksit Bharat,'' said Brij Lal. Addressing Pakistan's role, Brij Lal stated, 'Our neighbouring country wants to slow down our progress. They want peace to be disturbed here. This has been happening for the last 4 decades. Many people are asking for the proof... I told them that the IC814 flight was hijacked from Kathmandu in 1999 for the release of terrorist Masood Azhar and two other terrorists. The same happened during the 26/11 attacks, when we arrested Kasab... He had a fair trial in this country, and then he was sentenced to death. Now, we have brought Tahawwur Rana. In America, there is David Headley, who was sentenced to 30 years. During interrogation, he revealed that he had gone to Pakistan. So in this way, we have proof. The delegation included BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah, Hemang Joshi; TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee; CPI-M's John Brittas; and Congress leader Salman Khurshid.
