UP CM calls meet to ensure seamless Kanwar Yatra
Emphasizing the significance of the pilgrimage, he directed officials to stay alert, sensitive, and proactive to ensure a peaceful, secure, and dignified environment for devotees.
Stating that the safety and convenience of devotees are the top priorities of the state government, the Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure adequate arrangements along the Yatra route, including cleanliness, medical services, drinking water, canteens, rest areas, and toilets.
He laid special emphasis on the safety and comfort of women Kanwariyas, directing the effective deployment of women police personnel.
The Chief Minister directed 24x7 surveillance in sensitive areas using drone cameras and CCTV, and instructed intelligence agencies to maintain heightened vigilance to prevent any disruption. He firmly asserted that any attempt to disturb the Yatra must be met with immediate and strict action.
To enhance communication and spiritual ambience, CM Yogi directed the use of public address systems along the route and the continuous broadcast of devotional Shiv bhajans to keep devotees emotionally connected. He also suggested organizing floral showers from helicopters at key locations as a gesture of welcome and reverence.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to set up fully operational medical camps, first aid centres, and deploy ambulances at all major points to ensure a prompt response to any emergency.
Emphasising food safety, he directed the Food Safety and Drug Administration, along with local authorities, to conduct regular checks to maintain the quality and purity of food items provided to devotees.
CM Yogi appealed to all devotees to observe faith, discipline, and decorum during the Kanwar Yatra. He urged Shiv devotees to collect holy water from sacred rivers, perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva, and extend full cooperation to the administration. The state government, he reaffirmed, is fully committed to ensuring the service, safety, and convenience of all devotees.

UP's health services must be future-ready: CM Adityanath at King George's Medical University
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that the state's health services must be future-ready to keep pace with global advancements and be able to respond effectively to emerging challenges. He was speaking at the foundation stone laying and inauguration ceremony of various health projects worth Rs 1,000 crore at King George's Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow. Addressing the event, which was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak and Medical Education Minister Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, the Yogi said KGMU has consistently set milestones in its 120-year journey and remains a prestigious institution in India. "An institution or an individual's success depends on how well they adapt to the pace of time. Those who prepare in advance progress. Those who fail to do so face decline," Adityanath said. He said KGMU and Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) have become trusted centres for patients not just from across Uttar Pradesh but also neighbouring states and Nepal. Adityanath emphasised that people have faith in KGMU and SGPGI because they are confident of receiving quality treatment. "Even patients themselves expressed strong belief in their recovery, which shows how positive thinking can improve health outcomes," he said, recounting recent interactions with patients. The CM also highlighted the importance of technology in healthcare, announcing efforts for tie up in a new medical sciences initiative taken by IIT Kanpur with a Centre of Excellence. "We are working towards having a collaboration between the Centre of Excellence in Medical Technology in IIT Kanpur with institutions like KGMU and SGPGI that will be linked to it to prepare for global healthcare challenges," he said. The CM underlined the fast-paced expansion of medical education in the state. "In 1947, we had very few government medical colleges. But last year alone, admissions were made in 17 colleges -- 13 of which were government-run, three PPP-mode, and one private. Today, we are moving towards one medical college in each of UP's 75 districts," he said. Adityanath added that going forward, district medical colleges would conduct initial patient screenings to decongest tertiary centres like KGMU. Only those who genuinely require specialist care would be referred to Lucknow. Reflecting on India's health progress, he said, "From being the 11th largest economy, India is now the fourth. Earlier, there was only one AIIMS in the country. Today, several AIIMS have been established, which also focus on research and development." Calling AIIMS a symbol of excellence not just in healthcare but also innovation, the CM noted that KGMU has similarly carved a new identity by embracing progress, making its 120-year legacy even more glorious. Adityanath also praised the double-engine government model (BJP in Centre and in UP) for accelerating health infrastructure across the state and urged doctors and institutions to treat healthcare expansion as a mission, not just a service. Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 15 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday stated that investment proposals worth Rs 15 crore had come into the state, which would provide new opportunities for the people. Speaking at the inauguration of 'Kaushal Vikas Mela', the CM said that the investments had come into the state due to the improved law and order in the last eight years. 'You must have felt in the last 8 years that when law and order are good, and the government's intentions are right, you see a flood of investments in no time. Investment proposals worth more than Rs 15 lakh crore have come into Uttar Pradesh, and these investment proposals will provide new opportunities for the youth in the state...' the CM said while speaking at the inauguration. He further stated that under the double-engine government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, efforts are being made to enhance the skills of the youth of the state. 'Under the double engine government, we have been able to help sharpen the skills of the youth... we have worked in accordance with the demands of the industry and the is neither any shortage of work or human resources in the state...' the CM further stated. Earlier in the day, the CM laid the foundation stone for various health projects at King George Medical University and said that the time has come to provide medical facilities to areas outside the metropolitan facilities. Speaking on the occasion on Monday, CM Yogi said, 'Disease is neutral. Wherever there is a gap, it will attack and engulf you. We used to see the same situation in Uttar Pradesh when people used to get easily affected by the disease. But now, as you have seen, it has been raining for the last month. Yet there is no such situation of any communicable infection anywhere.' 'We had permitted KGMU to set up a satellite centre in Balrampur. They will start a medical college in this or the next session. The time has come to provide medical facilities to areas outside the metropolitan facilities. KGMU to get new diagnostic centre, accommodation block
1 2 Lucknow: To improve patient care and convenience, King George's Medical University (KGMU) will soon establish a state-of-the-art diagnostic centre & patient relative accommodation (PRA) block to offer round-the-clock access to all essential diagnostic tests under one roof. The new facility will be located near the existing trauma centre. The announcement was made on Monday during the launch of several new healthcare services at KGMU by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath . KGMU vice-chancellor Prof Soniya Nityanand expressed gratitude to the CM for approving this initiative, which is a part of a broader set of 941 health-related projects across the state. She said that the diagnostic centre and accommodation block would reduce the hassle faced by patients and their attendants, who had to move to various departments for different investigations. The block will include a 20-bed paediatric trauma wing and a mass casualty wing. It will also strengthen and support the services of existing trauma block, ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment. Prof Nityanand also outlined the details of the newly constructed multi-storey building at Lari Cardiology Centre, the launch of the Superspecialty Centre for Orthopaedics, and the expansion of the guest house. With expanded cardiology and trauma care, along with advanced orthopaedic and surgical units, we are moving closer to our goal of delivering world-class, affordable healthcare under one roof," she said. Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak said that KGMU had earned a world-class reputation over its 120-year journey, thanks to its students and faculty. "From 1985 to 2023, KGMU received only Rs 1,600 crore, whereas in the last three years alone, this govt provided Rs 1,000 crore under various schemes and planned projects, along with an additional Rs 600 crore for equipment. This shows the resolve of our govt," he said. He urged the KGMU administration to ensure that no patient is turned away without treatment. "If someone cannot afford treatment, contact me. I will arrange help through various schemes and sources," he added. Medical education minister Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh said that patients not only from UP but also from neighbouring states and even Nepal come to KGMU. "People are also being referred here from Gorakhpur AIIMS. Our expectation is that, even if we are not Delhi AIIMS, we should be better than others," he said.
