BBC quiz show renewed for FIFTH series with slew of celebrities poised to star
The corporation has given the green light for the popular Saturday night quiz show.

Romesh Ranganathan, 47, is the current host of The Weakest Link after the show was revived in 2020.
Anne Robinson, 80, famously hosted the hit general knowledge show from August 2000 for 12 years.
Her contract ended in March 2012 before the beeb rebooted the show eight years later.
Now bosses at the publicly funded corporation have given the go-ahead for yet another instalment.
Pre-production is underway at BBC Studios Entertainment Productions which makes the show.
The fifth series promises to have yet another star-studded lineup of celebrity contestants.
Like the last edition, the new run of episodes is set to feature a number of themed episodes.
Previous specials have included comedians, Gladiators, duos and Strictly Come Dancing personalities.
On the show, the group will battle it out on the iconic quiz as they have to work as a team to build up a cash pot prize for charity.
However, they have to get questions right to avoid getting voted as 'The Weakest Link' by their fellow contestants.

At all costs, they want to avoid the walk of shame across the studio as they get eliminated.
Only one player will secure the cash prize for their chosen charity and be crowned as The Strongest Link .
This comes after the host opened up on his previous battles with mental health in a new interview with Runners World UK.
"I just couldn't see the point in carrying on. I was super depressed.
"Then I started to do suicide ideation, where you start to fantasise about it.
"The best way I can describe it, when I thought about taking my own life, it felt like a weight was being lifted.
" Mental health is something I'm still aware of, and it's been a battle for me.
"I think once you come close to something like that, it's a bit like being an ex-smoker: you have to stay on top of it.'

Guests and release date revealed for second season of Meghan's lifestyle show
Netflix has released a trailer for season two of the Duchess of Sussex's lifestyle show – a day after the Sussexes announced a watered-down deal with the streaming giant. The teaser, which Meghan also shared on her Instagram, revealed that the next instalment of With Love, Meghan will air in two weeks' time on August 26. Among the celebrity guests joining the former Suits star during the eight episodes will be US model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen and Queer Eye star Tan France, as well as podcaster Jay Shetty and his cookbook author wife Radhi Devlukia. Also appearing will be chefs Samin Nosrat, Clare Smyth, Christina Tosi, Jose Andres and David Chang, and Meghan's close friends, pilates instructor Heather Dorak and make up artist Daniel Martin. The trailer, to the soundtrack of Bobby Day's upbeat Rockin' Robin, showed Meghan cooking, baking and crafting with her celebrity friends and saying: 'I love the idea of just spending time together … and finding new ways to show people you care.' She adds while being shown wrapping a gift: 'There are easy ways to show up, lovingly.' Meghan also reveals the Duke of Sussex is not a fan of lobster. She tells Andres as they prepare a dish together: 'Do you know who doesn't like lobster? My husband,' with the chef replying, prompting laughter from Meghan: 'And you marry (sic) him?' On Monday, Harry and Meghan announced a 'multi-year, first-look deal for film and television projects', in contrast to their reported 100 million dollar (£74 million) contract five years ago. PR and crisis expert Mark Borkowski described it as a 'downgrade', and suggested Netflix was 'pivoting away' from Harry and Meghan. Season one of With Love, Meghan was savaged by critics. One review in The Guardian described it as a 'gormless lifestyle filler' and 'so pointless it might be the Sussexes' last TV show'. The series has a 3.2 rating out of 10 on Netflix said at the time that the second season had already finished filming. The duchess officially launched her lifestyle brand As Ever, in which Netflix is a partner, just hours after season one premiered in March. She has gone on to sell jam, pre-made baking mixes, herbal tea and rose wine – as well as flower sprinkles, which she heavily promoted during the programme and which are also seen being used in the new trailer.

BBC Radio Scotland's Bryan Burnett to return to airwaves after cancer treatment
BBC Radio Scotland presenter Bryan Burnett will return to the airwaves on Thursday after undergoing cancer treatment. The broadcaster announced in June he would step back from his programme Get It On to receive care for appendix cancer. Fellow presenter Grant Stott, who stepped in during his absence, announced his return to listeners on Tuesday night. He said: 'In what must have been a terrible time for Bryan and his family and close friends, I'm just delighted I was able to help by looking after something that is very precious to Bryan; Get It On and his listeners. 'Getting to do the show over this time has shown me just how close the audience is to Bryan and vice versa. 'I know they will be delighted to get their radio teatime pal back.' Burnett said his treatment had been successful and thanked those who had wished him well throughout his recovery. Commenting on his return, he said: 'I am delighted to be returning to work following successful treatment for appendix cancer. 'Over the past few months I have been focused on my recovery and have been supported by an incredible medical team, my family and friends, and the overwhelming kindness of so many BBC Radio Scotland listeners who have reached out with encouragement and well-wishes. 'Their messages, cards and kindness have meant so much. 'My team at the BBC have also been a huge support and I want to thank Grant Stott, who has been sitting in for me and done such a great job looking after the show. 'My return to work will be gradual to ensure I maintain my health and energy. Cancer has given me a renewed perspective on what matters most and I am excited about the road ahead and grateful for the opportunity to return to doing what I'm passionate about.' Hayley Valentine, director BBC Scotland, said: 'Like the Get it On listeners, everyone at BBC Scotland is delighted to be welcoming Bryan back to the studio following what has been a tough couple of months for him. We look forward to seeing and hearing him back where he belongs.' Stott will share Get it On presenting duties with Bryan during his phased return. Meanwhile, the controversial storyline has received a huge public backlash. Last week fans were left fuming, with many slamming the plot as "abysmal" and asking, "What the hell did I just watch?" Viewers have slammed the storyline as 'unrealistic' and 'garbage', with some even vowing to ditch the soap for good. Most complained about soap storylines Over the years, all three of the main soaps have featured plots that have had even die-hard fans reaching for their phones and laptops so they can get in touch with Ofcom and complain. Here are just some of the most scandalous... EastEnders baby theft: 13,400 Ofcom complaints - Back in 2011, EastEnders was flooded with complaints when Ronnie Branning (RIP) swapped her baby for the dead son of Kat Moon. The storyline drew the most number of objections in the soap's long history and saw it roundly criticised by campaigners - with 13,400 flying in over the course of the storyline. Some viewers called it 'distressing' and 'horrific' but Ofcom ruled the scenes were not "unduly disturbing'. Emmerdale dog-napping: 550 Ofcom complaints - Back in 2016, Ross Barton and Charity Dingle came up with a plan to steal a dog and hold it ransom - but viewers didn't like it one bit. The nation's pet owners rose up, insisting the storyline would encourage copycats (not to mention copydogs). Complaints over two episodes totalled a staggering 550 and soap writers quickly learnt you don't mess with animal-lovers. Coronation Street double murder: 546 Ofcom complaints - Marginally less people complained about a gruesome double murder than objected to a dog-napping plot when Pat Phelan was at the centre of a spate of killings. First he forced Andy Carver to shoot dead Vinny Ashford - and then Pat killed Andy. All the bloodshed back in 2017 proved to be too much for some viewers, who lodged complaints in vast numbers about the 'violent scenes'. Taking to an online forum, one fan wrote: "Avani seems to have had a personality transplant. Does she not remember her step-grandmother has already raised 4 children? This is not her chance." Another said: "The Suki storyline being positioned as some sort of heart-warming tale of motherhood and not the coercion and abuse story that it actually is so inappropriate." To make matters worse, the same episode saw Patrick (Rudolph Walker) suddenly spiral into a gambling problem, despite two decades of betting without a hitch. Viewers were left scratching their heads and branding the writing "tedious" and "a challenge to watch." One said: "I hate how Patrick has gambled for 20+ years and now all of a sudden it's a problem." Another added: "Patrick has gambled since the first day Yolande met him. Now it is a contrived part of the plot for her to call off the wedding. "None of the stories make sense and it is a challenge to watch." EastEnders is available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
