'India Admits Rafale Pilot Loss? - Here's the truth behind this claim: Several Pakistani propaganda handles are spreading false claims that India has officially confirmed the loss of 4 IAF pilots, including those flying 3 Rafale jets. FAKE ALERT! The Government of India has not issued such a statement. There is no truth to these rumours. Don't fall for misinformation. Always cross-verify with official sources before believing or sharing such claims.' The PIB fact-checking unit wrote on X.
The image showcased an X-post of Mansoor Ahmed Qureshi and the Daily CPEC, claiming that four indian pilots lost their lives.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 as a decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the death of over 100 terrorists affiliated with terror outfits like the Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.
India used Rafale jets armed with SCALP missiles and HAMMER bombs to target nine terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir on May 7. The Indian Air Force completed the mission in just 23 minutes without any losses, exposing the weaknesses of Pakistan's air defence systems, the sources said.
After the attack, Pakistan retaliated with cross-border shelling across the Line of Control and Jammu and Kashmir as well as attempted drone attacks along the border regions, following which India launched a coordinated attack and damaged radar infrastructure, communication centres and airfields across 11 airbases in Pakistan.
Following this, on May 10, an agreement was announced regarding the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan. (ANI)

Government to promote private players for rare earth magnet production, says G Kishan Reddy

Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Saturday said that the government has introduced Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes to encourage participation of private players in rare earth permanent magnets production. The Centre has initiated PLI schemes, which offer financial incentives tied directly to measurable outcomes and have been designed to boost domestic manufacturing. While talking to ANI, the Union Minister said, "For this, the Indian government has also started some PLI schemes to encourage it. We are paying attention to this subject. The Prime Minister has continuously discussed this subject. Recently, during his visit to 5 countries, discussions were held with different countries on this subject. The raw material of rare earth is also available in smaller quantities in India. Importing raw materials, processing them, and manufacturing permanent magnets for various applications, including cell phones, space technology, and defence, creates a huge demand. The Indian government is working seriously for this. This scheme has also been brought under it." Additionally, the Minister also highlighted India's shift in sourcing strategy, noting that India was previously entirely dependent on China for rare-earth permanent magnets. India, earlier, relied entirely on imports from China for the permanent magnets, the Minister said. He added that the Non-Ferrous Materials Technology Development Centre (NFTDC), supported by the Ministry of Mining in Hyderabad, has successfully prepared a permanent magnet processing unit equipped with the necessary machinery. The central government plans to provide the technology developed by NFTDC to private factories for manufacturing. "We used to be 100 per cent dependent on China for permanent magnets of the rare earths. But recently, China has refused to supply. With this view, the Indian government is making efforts for permanent magnet manufacturing. Our mining ministry's institute in Hyderabad has made efforts and prepared a permanent magnet processing unit with equipment. After three to four months, we will try to manufacture permanent magnets by giving the technology to different private factories," Reddy told ANI. In April 2024, China announced that it would impose export controls on certain rare earth-related items, triggering a global supply shortage, including in India. In the light of rare earth magnet production, on Friday, Pankaj Mohindroo, Chairman of India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) , welcomed the central government initiatives to ramp up rare earth magnet production in India, particularly the incentives the latter is earmarking for. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the setting up of the Critical Mineral Mission in the Union Budget for 2024-25 on July 23, 2024. The Union Cabinet in January 2025 approved the launch of the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM) with an expenditure of Rs 16,300 crore and an expected investment of Rs 18,000 crore by Public Sector Undertakings.

'Pakistan Supporters Got Jobs But...': J&K LG Distributes Job Letters To Kin Of Terror Victims

Last Updated: Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha said many victims of terrorism suffered silently for decades, while Pakistan supporters and sympathisers got government jobs. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday distributed job appointment letters to the next of kin of victims of terrorism, saying the government is committed to supporting terror victims through employment opportunities and legal justice. 'These families, forsaken and forgotten, suffered silently for decades. Stories of their loved ones, brutally killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists, are being brought to the forefront," he said on X. While speaking at the event, Sinha said hundreds of Kashmiri people were killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists and the truth about the suffering families was 'deliberately suppressed." Justice at last! Handed over appointment letters to NoKs of terror victims. These families, forsaken and forgotten, suffered silently for decades. Stories of their loved ones, brutally killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists are being brought to forefront. — Office of LG J&K (@OfficeOfLGJandK) July 13, 2025 'No one came to wipe their tears. Everyone knew Pakistan-backed terrorists were involved in brutal killings but no one provided justice to thousands of elderly parents, wives, brothers or sisters." The J&K LG said some Pakistan supporters and sympathisers even received compensation and jobs in the region. Sinha also shared a victim's ordeal, whom he met on his way to the Amarnath Yatra on June 29. 'A girl told me her story — how her father was brutally killed by terrorists. She said that her mother begged on the streets to pay for her education, while those who committed the murder were given government jobs," he said. Sinha stated that for nearly three decades, many Kashmiri families affected by terrorism received neither compensation nor justice, while some who supported Pakistan were even granted government jobs. 'In many cases, FIRs were not registered, lands were encroached and properties demolished. I assure the people that culprits will not be spared." 'The administration will now reach the doorsteps of all the families who have been waiting for justice for the decades and jobs, arrangements for their rehabilitation and livelihood will be ensured," he mentioned. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
