Mohamed Sami Retires from Making TV Series

Yara Sameh
Egyptian scriptwriter-director Mohamed Sami has declared his intention to leave developing TV series behind.
In a lengthy post on
Facebook
, Sami bid farewell to his fans and confirmed that his decision wasn't sudden, but one that he had been planning for some time, but he preferred to stick to his commitments until the end.
"This year marks my last television project. I bid farewell to TV series," Sami wrote. "It has been a long journey of about 15 years, during which I gave everything I could to bring joy to the Arab audience."
Sami is currently participating in the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon with his final projects: "Saeed El Nass" and "Ash Ash".
He explained that one of the main motivations for the decision was his desire to avoid falling into the trap of repetition, noting that he had given his all to television drama.
"New and talented creators are emerging every day, offering fresh perspectives," Sami noted.
He also expressed his gratitude to those who supported him throughout his career and revealed his plans to travel abroad and continue his academic journey.
"A person can choose to stop doing what they love to pursue something else, but it takes the support of family to make that decision. I'm convinced that a person can decide at any time to stop something they love to pursue something else they also love and want to try, but they need a family to support their decision," he concluded.
Sami launched his career with music videos for Haifa Wehbe, before making his first steps in television with "Adam" (2011), followed by "Maa Sabq Alesrar" (2012) and "Hekayet Hayah" (2013), both starring Ghada Abdel Razek.
He wrote and helmed the film "Regatta" (2015).
Sami also wrote and directed Tamer Hosny in the 2017 film "Tisbah Ala Khair".
He has also formed a dynamic duo with Mohamed Ramadan, teaming up on the 2023 TV series "Gaafar El Omda", the 2020 TV series 'Al Prince', the 2016 TV series 'Al-Ostora', and the 2017 film 'Jawab E'teqal'.
Throughout his 15-year career, Sami collaborated with stars like Amr Saad, Mai Omar, Ahmed Zaher, Abeer Sabry, Maged El Masry, Ahmed El Sakka, and Amir Karara.

"Chucky" Actor Ed Gale Dies at 61

Yara Sameh Ed Gale, best known for playing Chucky, a doll possessed by a serial killer in Child's Play and other infamous 1980s movie characters, has died in Los Angeles. He was 61. His niece Kayse Gale wrote on Facebook, 'It is with a heavy heart and a surprisingly light coffin (see what I did there?) that we announce the sudden passing of our uncle, Ed Gale. Ed Gale has taken his final bow and is now headlining in the afterlife. Ed hitched a ride to California when he was twenty years old, with $41 and a dream, and he never looked back. He lit up the silver screens in cult classic films like Howard the Duck and Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town, earning himself some serious street cred at every con he attended. Which he never stopped bragging about. Ever. 'Over the course of his career he appeared in over 130 movies, TV shows, and commercials. With this wide ranging body of work, he leaves behind legacy full of questionable lighting and amazing one-liners. Ed's favorite role was that of the 'fun uncle.' His love language was sharing his love of the entertainment industry and the magic of Hollywood with his nieces. 'Ed loved 7 eleven hotdogs with disgusting amounts of ketchup. He enjoyed reminiscing about his glory days DJing at the Plainwell roller rink. He hated Bill Maher for no good reason. He delighted in the slow build up of telling a good story, and cheating at cribbage. He had one hell of a laugh, and he will be missed. Rest in love you cranky bastard,' she concluded. Gale went on to wear the devilish doll suit in 'Child's Play 2' and 'Bride of Chucky,' costumed as the possessed doll with the soul of a serial killer. In the TV series 'Land of the Lost,' Gale played the dinosaur Tasha. He had a brief appearance on 'My Name Is Earl' as a carnival performer, and he had a supporting role in the Matthew McConaughey film 'Tiptoes,' which revolved around a family of little people. His other appearances include 'Oh Brother, 'Where Art Thou,' 'Baywatch,' '3rd Rock From the Sun,' 'Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey' and 'Friday the 13th: The Series." Gale was also a familiar face at fan conventions and personal appearances for his films. Born in Plainwell, Mich., he moved to Los Angeles to become an actor and appeared in more than 130 movies, TV shows, and commercials. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks

Miley Cyrus Drops New Album "Something Beautiful": Stream It Now

Yara Sameh Miley Cyrus' latest work of art has finally arrived. The pop star dropped her new album "Something Beautiful" first thing Friday. The project — described by Cyrus as a 'one-of-a-kind pop opera fueled by fantasy' — consists of 13 tracks and is led by singles 'Prelude,' 'Something Beautiful,' 'End of the World' and 'More to Lose.' On 'Walk of Fame,' the Hannah Montana alum teamed up with Alabama Shakes guitarist Brittany Howard, and for 'Every Girl You've Ever Loved,' featuring supermodel Naomi Campbell. "Something Beautiful" is also accompanied by a film, which will premiere in theaters for one night only on June 12 in the United States and Canada, followed by another single-day screening internationally on June 27. Cyrus had long teased that she wanted to make a visual album prior to the project's release, revealing back in November that her vision was to take inspiration from Pink Floyd's The Wall — just 'with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture.' The new record marks the 'Flowers' singer's first LP since 2023's Endless Summer Vacation, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200. But while performing old tracks and playing new songs from "Something Beautiful" at an intimate Chateau Marmont show in Los Angeles Wednesday (May 28), Cyrus revealed that she's already thinking about her next album. 'My next album is about to be extremely experimental, so have fun with that,' she told the crowd of superfans gathered in the room, noting that Something Beautiful is 'just the appetizer.' Listen to Cyrus' "Something Beautiful" below. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks
