Mai Omar to Participate in Ramadan 2026 Drama Marathon
Yara Sameh Egyptian actress Mai Omar is preparing for a new TV series, which she plans to participate in during the Ramadan 2026 drama marathon. Omar participated last Ramadan with the TV series ' Ash Ash '. The cast also includes Hala Sedki, Maged El Masry, Edward, Entesar, Ehab Fahmi, Tarek El-Nahry, Alaa Morsy, Shaimaa Saif, Dina, Essam El Sakka, Mohamed El Sharnouby, and more. The 30-episode series marks the ninth collaboration between Omar and her husband, director/screenwriter Mohamed Sami. The couple previously collaborated on "Hekayet Hayah" (2013), "Kalam Ala Waraq" (2014), "Al Ostora" (2016), "Tisbah ala Khair" (2017), "Weld Al Ghalaba" (2019), "Nasl El Aghrab" (2021), "Harley" (2023), and "Neama Al Avocato" (2024). Omar, born on February 7, 1988, started her career as a producer in the field of advertising, then got into acting in 2013 with her role as Walaa in the TV Series 'Hekayet Hayah'. Mohamed Sami Retires from Making TV Series
Yara Sameh Egyptian scriptwriter-director Mohamed Sami has declared his intention to leave developing TV series behind. In a lengthy post on Facebook , Sami bid farewell to his fans and confirmed that his decision wasn't sudden, but one that he had been planning for some time, but he preferred to stick to his commitments until the end. "This year marks my last television project. I bid farewell to TV series," Sami wrote. "It has been a long journey of about 15 years, during which I gave everything I could to bring joy to the Arab audience." Sami is currently participating in the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon with his final projects: "Saeed El Nass" and "Ash Ash". He explained that one of the main motivations for the decision was his desire to avoid falling into the trap of repetition, noting that he had given his all to television drama. "New and talented creators are emerging every day, offering fresh perspectives," Sami noted. He also expressed his gratitude to those who supported him throughout his career and revealed his plans to travel abroad and continue his academic journey. "A person can choose to stop doing what they love to pursue something else, but it takes the support of family to make that decision. I'm convinced that a person can decide at any time to stop something they love to pursue something else they also love and want to try, but they need a family to support their decision," he concluded. Sami launched his career with music videos for Haifa Wehbe, before making his first steps in television with "Adam" (2011), followed by "Maa Sabq Alesrar" (2012) and "Hekayet Hayah" (2013), both starring Ghada Abdel Razek. He wrote and helmed the film "Regatta" (2015). Sami also wrote and directed Tamer Hosny in the 2017 film "Tisbah Ala Khair". He has also formed a dynamic duo with Mohamed Ramadan, teaming up on the 2023 TV series "Gaafar El Omda", the 2020 TV series 'Al Prince', the 2016 TV series 'Al-Ostora', and the 2017 film 'Jawab E'teqal'. "Ash Ash" marks the couple's ninth collaboration after "Hekayet Hayah" (2013), "Kalam Ala Waraq" (2014), "Al Ostora" (2016), "Tisbah ala Khair" (2017), "Weld Al Ghalaba" (2019), "Nasl El Aghrab" (2021), "Harley" (2023), and "Neama Al Avocato" (2024). The 30-episode series, which features Omar as a third-degree belly dancer, will air on the "MBC Masr" TV channel during the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon. Omar and Sami worked together last Ramadan on the TV series " Neama Al Avocato". The series also starred Ahmed Zaher, Arwa Gouda, Walaa El Sherif, Kamal Abu Raya, Salwa Othman, Samy Maghawry, Tarek El Nahry, Lubna Wanas, and more. "Neama Al Avocato" consisted of 16 episodes and achieved tremendous success during its premiere. Sami directed the drama from a script he co-wrote with Mohab Tarek. "Neama Al Avocato" was produced by Maha Selim and featured Omar portraying the role of a lawyer for the first time in her career.
