Defensive Tackle Tiki Hola Commits To Notre Dame
Notre Dame has been recruiting Hola for about two years, with his first visit to campus coming in 2023 when he watched the Fighting Irish beat Wake Forest (45-7). In March of 2024, Hola was officially offered a scholarship by Notre Dame during its Pot of Gold push. A week later he made his second visit to campus, and since then Hola has made two more trips to campus as the Irish. Defensive line coach Al Washington established a strong rapport with Hola, selling his vision for how the Bastrop star fits in the Irish defense, and that played a major role in this decision.

The Texas defensive lineman is listed at 6-3 and between 270-285 pounds, but he checked in recently at 6-3 and 300 pounds. As a junior, Hola racked up 102 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, two sacks, forced three fumbles and recovered two fumbles. He earned Defensive MVP honors after putting together that dominant season. Hola also earned first-team All-State honors at the 5A level. Landing Hola gives Notre Dame the kind of physical, stout, disruptive big man that could help improve the Irish run defense.
Hola is ranked as a Top 150 caliber prospect on the Irish Breakdown board, but he has a 4.5-star upside grade, which is that of a Top 50-75 prospect. ESPN and Rivals both rank Hola as a four-star recruit, with ESPN ranking him as the nation's No. 150 overall player and No. 12 defensive tackle.
Hola also had offers from Georgia, Texas, LSU, Michigan, Oregon, Texas A&M, Miami (Fla.), Tennessee, Nebraska, TCU, Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Texas Tech, Baylor, Boston College, Arizona and Houston.
Hola is the 15th player to commit to Notre Dame. He joins Florida quarterback Noah Grubbs, Texas running back Javian Osborne, Florida wide receiver Dylan Faison, Georgia wide receiver Bubba Frazier, Pennsylvania offensive lineman Tyler Merrill, Michigan offensive linemen Ben Nichols, Gregory Patrick and Sullivan Garvin, North Carolina ends Ebenezer Ewetade and Rodney Dunham, North Carolina linebacker Thomas Davis Jr., Ohio linebacker Jakobe Clapper, Florida cornerback Ayden Pouncey and Tennessee cornerback Chaston Smith.

Comcast Awaits NBA Boost as Peackock Losses Hit $10 Billion
A seasonal dearth of live sports content contributed to a mixed bag for Comcast's streaming service, as Peacock subscribers remained flat at 41 million, while losses narrowed to $101 million in the second quarter of 2025. While that marked a not-insignificant improvement compared to the $348 million hit the platform took in the year-ago period, Comcast's latest results pushed Peacock's cumulative losses past the $10 billion DTC service boosted revenue by 18% to $1.2 billion in the April-June period, and Comcast executives on this morning's earnings call said they were confident that NBC Sports' new NBA rights package will drive subscriber growth at the unit. Two weeks ago Peacock upped the monthly fees for both its ad-supported and commercial-free plans by $3 per month.'The impact of this price increase, combined with [our] strong upfront results … helped position us as we launch the NBA,' said Comcast president Mike Cavanagh, who went on to note that the league's return to NBC will trigger 'higher sports programming expenses' in the fourth quarter and beyond. NBC's 11-year pact with the league will cost it $2.45 billion per season, although the company believes that the positive impact on advertising revenue and Peacock sign-ups should go a long way toward diluting those the sleepy sports calendar did its usual job of throttling Peacock's momentum on the customer-acquisition front, the losses at Comcast's legacy cable unit were similarly predictable. The operator ended the quarter with 11.8 million video customers, which marked a sequential loss of 325,000 hook-ups and a year-over-year defection of 1.43 million subs. Over the past 12 months Comcast has lost another 11% of its pay-TV base to the ravages of cord-cutting, a churn rate that was only slightly less vertiginous than the 12% hit the company took in Q2 defections have really piled up in recent years, with Comcast shedding 3.21 million video customers, or 21% of its base, since the analogous period in 2023, while nearly one-third (31%) of its subs have dropped the bundle in the last 36 months. Comcast said Thursday that Peacock sales represented over one-third of the company's upfront dollar in the call, Comcast reiterated that the spinoff of the Versant cable channels should wrap by the end of this year or the start of 2026. The Versant transaction cost the parent company $110 million on the quarter. Meanwhile, executives were characteristically mum on the recent chatter that Comcast is considering the launch of a new cable channel devoted to sports—a development that's begun brewing just four years after NBCSN was shuttered. While the idea is in the larval stage, the upshot is that the new entity would serve as a means for NBCU to simulcast live sports that are otherwise exclusive to the broadband front, Comcast lost 226,000 domestic internet subscribers in the quarter, besting consensus forecasts of -257,000. Overall revenue at the Philadelphia-based media giant increased 2% to $30.3 billion, ahead of forecasts for $29.8 billion, while adjusted earnings per share improved 3% to $1.25, topping projections for $ grew 1% to $10.3 billion. Aldershot's head of recruitment given ban for betting
Aldershot Town's head of recruitment Jamie Hedges has been charged after breaking the FA's gambling rules. As a result he has been given a two-month ban from football with immediate effect and handed an £850 fine. Aldershot detailed the 25-year-old had placed 2,523 bets placed on football matches between 2 January 2020 and 5 May 2025. In response to the charge, the Shots said they "will be giving Jamie all the support he needs". Hedges joined the club in 2023 having previously worked under first-team manager Tommy Widdrington at Bristol Rovers.

Bengals expected to sign tight end Noah Fant
CINCINNATI (AP) — Tight end Noah Fant is expected to sign with the Cincinnati Bengals. The team has not announced the signing, but coach Zac Taylor said before Thursday's practice 'we potentially have a good signing there" when asked about reports of a deal. ESPN reported the sides were working on a one-year contract. 'You've got a player that's really a plus player in both the run and the pass. At the point of attack blocking, back side of blocking. Protection, can help you. Also really explosive as a receiver," Taylor said about Fant. "Great size, great explosiveness, really good hands. Tough to bring down. We really feel good about where our tight end room will be.' Fant visited the Bengals last week after being released by the Seattle Seahawks on July 20. He had 48 receptions for 500 yards and a touchdown in 14 games last season. Fant also visited New Orleans and Miami after his trip to Cincinnati. The addition of Fant will give quarterback Joe Burrow a solid tight end duo. Mike Gesicki is expected to the starter. Fant will be going into his seventh season.
