It's A1 Semi-Pro League for Perak FA next season
The announcement was made by its president Datuk Mohd Azhar Jamaluddin in a statement on Perak FA's official Facebook page today, following a meeting with Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, yesterday.
He said the Bos Gaurus line-up will consist of players from the Perak Malaysia Games (SUKMA) squad as well as several senior players who previously played in the Super League.
'The Menteri Besar also expressed strong support for Perak FA's efforts to rebuild from the ground up and to provide opportunities for young local talents to shine on a bigger stage.
'He also advised us to start with a solid, well-organised foundation, centred on the development of homegrown talents,' he said.
Mohd Azhar said that besides competing in the A1 Semi-Pro League, the association will also focus on rebuilding the state's youth and feeder teams, as well as grassroots-level competitions.
'This includes the restructuring of teams for the 2026 President's Cup and Youth Cup, focusing on the development of the SUKMA team, in addition to organising state-level leagues such as Liga Perak Sejahtera 2030, the State Amateur Club League, the IPTA/IPTS Perak League, and the District Integrity League (Under-17),' he said.
He expressed hope that these efforts would contribute towards restoring the glory of Perak football.
On May 22, Amateur Football League (AFL) chairman, Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi welcomed the participation of Perak FA and Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC) in the A1 League following both teams' failure to obtain a National Licence to compete in the Super League next season.

The tournament to be staged again at Naim Street Mall @ Paragon Bintulu is expected to draw over 300 athletes from all over the world. 'We are hoping to get the strong support from the federal and state governments as well as corporate sponsors to organise this championships,' PMNS president Jumaat Ibrahim told reporters during the PMNS thanksgiving and celebration dinner at a local restaurant on Friday. The dinner was held to celebrate the Sarawak team's achievement at the National Combat Sports Championships (Pre-Sukma) and Muaythai National Grand Prix at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur from July 24-27. Sarawak finished second overall after capturing nine gold, five silver and 10 bronze medals to finish behind Sabah and ahead of Melaka. The state squad was represented by clubs under the KSSC Sarawak banner which included Muaythai Kenyalang Club, Sting Kuching, Phoenix Meranek Samarahan, Bau MT Club, SS Fighter Petrajaya, Singa 30 Miri and Legacy Kuching. They were joined by four other clubs D30 Miri, PS Bintulu, Kilas Petra Jaya and Rentap Kuching who used their own resources. A standout performer was Sukma XXI silver medallist Azhad Haziq Syafaat who won the National Championship Belt in the 75kg–80kg category. Another star performer was Adrynna Thanichaa from Rentap Muaythai Club secured a gold medal and was also crowned Best Female Boxer of the tournament. Jumaat described the championship as an excellent exposure platform for the state's budding talents. He pledged that PMNS will continue to send promising athletes to more exposure tournaments. 'Our main goal remains to retain our muaythai championship title at Sukma Selangor next year. But we're aware it won't be easy as other states are also stepping up their game,' he added.

Quota boost a breath of fresh air for newcomers Immigration
PETALING JAYA: Newcomers Immigration football club can breathe a little easier ahead of their Super League debut, thanks to a timely boost from the Malaysian Football League (MFL). Promoted as runners-up from the A1 Semi-Pro League, Immigration are bracing for a steep learning curve when they face off against seasoned Super League outfits when the competition kicks off on Aug 8. Their head coach Yusri Che Lah was all smiles after the MFL approved an additional three in the local player quota, which is a much-needed lifeline for the newly promoted side. 'This gives me more flexibility to identify the right players for the right roles – something we desperately need to stay competitive, especially against clubs packed with youth talents,' said Yusri. 'I appreciate the MFL's decision. As a new club, we're at a disadvantage because we don't have players from the President's Cup or any established development squads. This extra quota gives us breathing room to build more strategically.' While the decision by the MFL, made following a special board meeting and appeals from newly promoted clubs, has provided some relief, Yusri is still navigating significant challenges. Immigration were the last team to begin pre-season, only getting underway two weeks ago, while some clubs have been in preparation since June. Still, the 49-year-old is embracing the uphill task with quiet confidence. 'I know there's been talk about the timing and pressure, but I'm not looking back. We're moving forward with belief and intent,' said Yusri. 'I took this role because of the trust and faith the management placed in me. We'll give it everything we've got.' Despite their late start, Immigration have managed to attract several experienced names to bolster their squad. Among the new signings are Pahang goalkeeper Zarif Irfan Hashimuddin, defenders Rizal Ghazali and Aiman Yusni, midfielders Mior Dani Armin, Abdul Halim Saari, Fadzrul Danel Nizam, and Nik Shareef Haseefy, along with attackers Nur Azfar Fikri Azhar and Fayyadh Zulkifli. With the additional quota, clubs are now allowed to register up to 33 players for the new campaign - a move that Yusri says levels the playing field slightly for clubs like his. Though still a work in progress, Immigration's squad are beginning to take shape. With foreign players only just starting to join the training camp in Alor Setar, Yusri is pushing hard to build cohesion before their Super League opener against Kuala Lumpur at the Batu Kawan Stadium on Aug 12. 'We've only had two weeks of training, and my imports have only just started integrating. 'We may be short on time, but that's no excuse. I have to be smart about building our starting eleven. KUCHING (Aug 2): The Sarawak Muaythai Association (PMNS) is planning to bring back the Sarawak Premier Cup Muaythai Championship this September in Bintulu. With the venue planned at Naim Street Mall again, PMNS president Jumaat Ibrahim said that this year's championship is expected to attract over 300 participants from across Malaysia and around the world. 'We are hoping to get the strong support from the federal and state governments as well as corporate sponsors to organise this championship. 'For the organising of the Sarawak Premier Cup last year, we received funding support from the federal Ministry of Youth and Sports and the State Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development,' he told reporters during a PMNS thanksgiving dinner on Friday. The dinner was to celebrate Sarawak's outstanding performance at the recent National Combat Sports Championship (Pre-Sukma) and Muaythai National Grand Prix, held at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil from July 24–27. Many of these athletes are still young and relatively new, but they've shown incredible potential to go far,' he said. He reminded the athletes that consistent training and discipline are key to long-term success and reiterated PMNS' commitment to sending athletes to more tournaments for experience. 'Our main goal remains — to retain our muaythai championship title at Sukma Selangor next year. But we're aware it won't be easy, as other states are also stepping up their game. 'Events like this and the ones to come are part of our roadmap to prepare everyone for Sukma 2026. So keep training diligently,' he said. Jumaat also thanked the Sarawak government, Sarawak Sports Corporation, and Sarawak State Sports Council for their continued support, along with coaches, team managers, and parents for their vital contributions.
