Ben Bobzien: Amiri's insider tip for fantasy football
According to kicker, Mainz's star Nadiem Amiri tipped him to be the surprise of the upcoming season before putting a timeframe of January by saying 'he still needs a bit of time'. Bobzien assisted the former Germany international in a 5-0 friendly win over Seekirchen.
After his time at Elversberg and Austria Lustenau, Bobzien enjoyed his best season in professional football with Austria Klagenfurt. He scored 12 goals in all competitions for the Austrian club. However, only one of those goals came after 2025 as they ended up getting relegated to 2. Liga.
Ex-Bayern striker Carsten Jancker couldn't save Klagenfurt after taking the helm with only four games to go. Nonetheless, Mainz are not looking for another loan ahead of a congested season.
The player who joined the club at the age of 12 will have to compete with Hong Hyun-seok, Paul Nebel and Jae-Sung Lee for playing time in Bundesliga. The former Germany U20 international hasn't played for Mainz since making his debut in a DFB-Pokal tie three years ago.

'Hard work ahead as Foxes adapt to Cifuentes'
Leicester City's trip to Austria has no doubt been a success for Marti Cifuentes. However, the final day of the camp will have left the new Foxes boss with some questions he needs to find the answer to. The defeat by FC Koln in Graz highlighted the fact that the Foxes are not yet fully symbiotic with the Catalan's style. They struggled to adapt to a different tactical idea from the German side - and it proved to be their downfall as they fell to a 3-1 defeat. That was a sentiment echoed by both Cifuentes and goalscorer Kasey McAteer, who admitted more work on the training pitch is needed to fully implement the new philosophy. However, the general mood around the camp has been lifted entirely following last season's relegation from the Premier League. Cifuentes has instilled a confidence and has been fierce in his methods of doing so. He will not settle for anything less than best - from his players or himself. The Foxes, now back on home soil, have plenty of work to do to get them ready for the beginning of the new Championship season.

Leverkusen star pushes for Wolves move
Having already said goodbye to several key players this summer, Bayer Leverkusen could be set for another departure. According to Bild, Amine Adli has asked the club's management for permission to enter talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers after receiving an offer from the Premier League side. Wolves have reportedly contacted Leverkusen as well, with negotiations currently underway. However, the two clubs remain far apart in their valuation. Die Werkself are said to be demanding around €30 million including bonuses for the 25-year-old attacking midfielder. West Ham United are also believed to be interested in Adli, who joined Leverkusen from Toulouse in 2021 for a reported €7.5 million. The Moroccan international signed a contract extension in November, committing himself to Leverkusen until 2028.

Liverpool have signed a new winger
Liverpool have already signed a new winger this summer and no one has noticed. Luis Diaz is set to depart the Reds as he jets off to Germany from Japan to undergo a medical at Bayern Munich. With his departure there have been a lot of calls for Liverpool to sign a replacement for the Colombian. LFC Kits Shop Now LFC x New Era Shop Now LFC Signed Merch Shop Now LFC x Titleist Shop Now The Reds are working on a deal to bring in another attacker but it's not a winger - it's Alexander Isak. He's a number nine and this is an area where Liverpool are short of options. In contrast on the wings, Liverpool may already have enough ammunition - even if Federico Chiesa is set to depart as well. Arne Slot has Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and the brilliant Rio Ngumoha to choose from. Although they are not the only options. New signings, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz can also play on the wings. And the Reds have also signed a winger, who not many people have noticed is actually a winger. At least that is where new signing Jeremie Frimpong has played for the most of pre-season. He came on and played as a right-winger against Preston and did the same against AC Milan as well. Frimpong's speed and the fact that he played really advanced in Bayer Leverkusen's system means he's very well suited to play that forward role. Against Milan, he showcased his qualities, too. His speedy runs caused a lot of problems to AC Milan's defence and it went under the radar a little bit, just how good Frimpong was in that game. The Liverpool man won the most duels (7) in the match and his constant threat could have easily resulted in the game being more even.
