MP: Four naxalites, including three women, killed in Balaghat encounter
Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 14 (ANI): Security forces gunned down four Naxalites, including three women, in an encounter which took place in the hilly area of Pachama Dadar in Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat district, police said on Saturday.
Security forces also recovered a hand grenade, a rocket launcher, a 315 rifle and cartridges, Special DG Naxal, Pankaj Srivastava told ANI over the phone.
'Four Naxalites, including three women, have been neutralised in an encounter which took place in the hilly area of Pachama Dadar of Bithli police station. A hand grenade, a rocket launcher, a 315 rifle and cartridges have been recovered,' Special DG Naxal told ANI.
Some Naxalites succeeded in escaping from the encounter site. The search operations for them are underway.
Additionally, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also confirmed the development, calling it a part of the state's continuing mission to eliminate Naxalism by March 2026.
'Under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Madhya Pradesh is continuously working towards our resolve to end Naxalism by March 2026. 4 Naxalites have been killed in the encounter in Balaghat today, including 3 women and a man. Many weapons and ammunition, including rocket launcher, have been recovered from them,' Yadav said.
MP CM Yadav said that the government will reward the personnel for their success in the incident.
'The Madhya Pradesh government will definitely reward the policemen who brought good results in this incident,' Yadav said.
Earlier, Security forces neutralised two Naxals in an encounter in the forest area under Kukanar Police Station area of Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, police said.
According to Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan, automatic weapons were also recovered from the spot. (ANI)

Sonam, her lover Raj Kushwaha, and three other accomplices - Vishal Chauhan, Anand Kurmi, and Akash Rajput - were arrested in connection with the a student from Ghazipur, provided a detailed account of her encounter with Sonam on the night of June 8. "I met Sonam at Varanasi Cantt station," she said. "She had her face covered with a dupatta and was with two men, one of whom had a white cloth wrapped around his face." Yadav, who was heading home, said that Sonam had asked her if any bus went to Gorakhpur or Ghazipur. Yadav directed Sonam to the bus stand. They ended up boarding the same bus from platform number 7, initially sitting sat with her head bowed and was also wearing a mask," Yadav recalled. After a male passenger vacated his seat, Yadav moved to sit beside the journey, a distressed Sonam asked for Yadav's phone, typed a number, but then erased it and returned the device without making a call. The video featured Raja Raghuvanshi's grieving mother pleading for the safe return of her daughter-in-law. The veteran Congress leader asked a few questions, including the carrying capacity of the helicopter at the time of the incident on Sunday morning. Tiwari told ANI, '... Earlier this morning, seven people, including the pilot on board a helicopter were killed after the chopper crashed near the forested area of Gaurikund in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) said. The Aryan Aviation Helicopter was flying to Guptkashi from the Kedarnath Dham when it crashed at 5:30 am today. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a virtual high-level meeting with senior officials from the CM residence after the helicopter crash. Following the incident, the Chief Minister informed that the Helicopter services will not run for the next two days. The deceased have been identified as Captain Rajbir Singh Chauhan (39), resident of Jaipur, Vikram Rawat (47) a Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee representative and resident of Rasi, Vinod Devi (66), resident of Uttar Pradesh, Trishti Singh (19), resident of Uttar Pradesh, Rajkumar Suresh Jaiswal (41), resident of Gujarat, Shraddha Rajkumar Jaiswal and Kashi (2), resident of Maharashtra. Rescue teams were immediately dispatched under the direction of SDRF Commander Arpan Yadav. The incident spot was located in a very inaccessible and dense forest area, where a fast-paced and coordinated rescue operation was carried out by the joint teams of SDRF, NDRF, and local police. Rescue teams worked in inclement weather to retrieve the bodies of the deceased. (ANI)
