Saudi Arabia leads MENA in venture capital with $860mln in H1 2025
The figures, released by MAGNiTT, a platform specializing in startup investment data, highlight the Kingdom's robust and evolving economic environment under the Vision 2030 framework.
According to the report, Saudi Arabia accounted for 56% of all venture capital investment in the MENA region during H1 2025.
The Kingdom also achieved a record number of deals, with 114 venture capital transactions completed during the same period, a strong indicator of investor confidence and the attractiveness of the Saudi market.
This milestone reinforces Saudi Arabia's status as the region's largest economy and underscores the growing competitiveness of its startup ecosystem.

Dubai launches world's first human–machine collaboration classification for content transparency
Dubai has launched a series of icons to establish whether content is created by humans, AI or a combination of both. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, approved the launch of the world's first Human–Machine Collaboration (HMC) classification system. The HMC system introduces a global framework designed to differentiate between the roles of humans and intelligent machines in the creation of creative, scientific, academic, and intellectual content. Dubai launches AI content classification The system applies to areas such as research, publishing, writing, design, and more. Sheikh Hamdan said: 'Distinguishing between human creativity and artificial intelligence has become a real challenge in light of today's rapid technological advances. 'This calls for a new approach to recognise the growing role of intelligent machines. That's why we launched the world's first Human–Machine Collaboration Icons, a classification system that brings transparency to how research documents, publications, and content are created'. He invited global stakeholders—researchers, writers, publishers, designers, and content creators—to adopt the new classification system and use it responsibly. All Dubai Government entities have also been directed to begin using the framework in their research and knowledge-based outputs. Sheikh Mohammed grants Dubai government employees 10 days' marriage leave
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday issued a decree regarding marriage leave for Dubai government employees. It states that employees are entitled to fully paid marriage leave for a period of 10 working days. It also allows employees to combine marriage leave with any other leave they are entitled to. The aim is to enhance psychological and family stability, and strengthen the foundations for successful family life, while achieving a balance between personal life requirements and job duties. The decree covers Emirati employees working in government agencies and authorities supervising special development zones and free zones. What are the rules? The decree specifies that the employee's husband or wife must also be a UAE citizen. It also states that the employee must have successfully passed their probationary period. The marriage contract must also be certified in the country and concluded after December 31, last year. A copy of the marriage contract must be submitted only once when applying for leave. During the leave period, the employee is entitled to receive their full gross salary, including allowances and financial benefits. They may also use marriage leave at any time, whether continuously or intermittently, in one year from the date of concluding the marriage contract. A government entity cannot call on an employee during marriage leave, with the exception of military personnel if work requires it.
