John Terry takes charge of his Baller League team just 24 hours after completing the London Marathon - and suffering every runner's worst nightmare
Terry was on the sidelines for Night Six of the popular six-a-side tournament at Copperbox Arena and showed no signs of lingering discomfort as he steered 26s to a crucial 4-1 victory against MVPs United.
The Chelsea legend was again joined by 26s head coach Jody Morris and the duo put on an animated display as they shouted instructions over a vibrant crowd.
The result moved Terry's side up to fifth place, three points behind the top four, and he praised the dominant performance in his post-match interview.
'Really good performance. It has been coming,' he told Sky Sports. 'We lost games we deserved to win. The boys have been amazing. We had to win tonight.'
The big win capped off a memorable two days for Terry.
A five-time Premier League winner, Terry was among several former top-flight pros to take part in the London Marathon and clocked a time of five hours and 43 seconds.
However, he could be seen walking at around 21 miles in with a pained expression on his face and an apparent stream of blood from his nipple running down his white top.
Terry, 44, also looked to be limping a little.
He was running to raise money for the charity Rays of Sunshine, which helps children and young people living in the UK with a life-threatening or life-limiting illness.
Speaking afterwards, Terry said he was 'feeling sore' after a 'tough' race, but that he was 'pleased' to have raised money for his cause.
His recovery began the morning after as he posted a snap of his wife Toni 'looking after me'. The photo, shared with his 8.7million followers on Instagram, showed his partner massaging his leg - but Terry couldn't resist a crude joke.
'@toniterry26 looking after me this morning,' he posted alongside the picture. 'I'm just stiff in all the wrong places'. He added three laughing emojis at the end.
The couple also met during the run, with former forward Bobby Zamora sharing a video that saw Terry exchange two kisses with Toni as he looked to soldier on.

During the race, Terry was also cheered on by other members of his family, including his son Georgie and daughter Summer.
They donned big blue signs, with one reading 'run dad run', another 'go JT! Keep running', and one that ready 'go baby' - presumably property of Toni.
Another saw Summer on the shoulders of another man, with everyone present wearing blue shirts to cheer Terry on in a heartwarming display.
Terry later shared another snap of him resting up, holding a cup of tea and packet of Viennese biscuits. He captioned the picture: 'Going to eat the whole pack.'

Nightclub bans phones from dancefloor and will 'kick out' those who disobey
Guests who ignore the no-filming policy may be asked to leave, according to a post shared by the club A nightclub will open next month where phones are banned on the dancefloor - so revellers can "feel comfortable letting go" without 'fear of appearing on Instagram '. Announcing the plans on Friday (August 15), Moon Club - located in St Paul's, Bristol - said mobile use will be allowed elsewhere in the building. But phones are strictly prohibited on the dancefloor as the space is "for dancing, not filming", it said - and anyone who ignores the rules may be kicked out. A number of clubs and live event venues have put restrictions on mobile use in recent years, from outright bans to the use of stickers on cameras. Posting on Instagram, Moon Club said: "When we open our doors in September, we'll be launching with a clear approach to nightlife. The dance floor is for dancing, not filming. "From day one, filming on the dance floor will not be permitted." It continued: "Phones can still be used in other parts of the venue, but in the crowds, we're asking everyone to be present and enjoy the moment." Guests who ignore the policy may be asked to leave. The statement adds: "The policy isn't about being restrictive for the sake of it. It's about protecting the atmosphere that makes a club special. "Too often, dance floors are lit up by phone screens instead of people connecting with each other and the music. We want Moon Club to be a place where the focus is on the experience, the sound, and the energy in the room. We believe in creating a space where everyone feels comfortable letting go without it ending up in a stranger's Instagram story. This is about respect for the crowd, the artists, and the night itself." The post went on: "Our in-house team will film and photograph certain nights and the content may be shared on Moon Club's social channels after the event. That way, you can relive the moments without missing them in the first place. "This approach puts Moon Club alongside a growing number of clubs and international nightlife spaces that are rethinking phone use. By keeping screens off the dance floor, we're joining a shift towards more immersive, connected club experiences. We thank you for your understanding." The post received a mixed reaction in the comments section, SWNS reports. One person said: "Don't get me wrong - love the thought behind this BUT my bread and butter income comes from designing venue x show visuals. When the audience films content and shares it - it helps both the brands get a larger audience as well as it selfishly keeps my food on the table. I'm always going to be pro phones as it helps the industry in my opinion." Another wrote: "Fully back this idea. I never use my phone on a dancefloor really anyway so makes little difference to me!" A third added: "I think a couple clips to remember the event are fair game. 20-30 seconds max. But those that just stand there on their phone all night may as well not be there to begin with." Moon Club - which will have a 220-person capacity and is operating under the umbrella of the famed Bristol club Lakota - is expected to open in September.

Manchester United make Joshua Zirkzee transfer decision amid Napoli interest
Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is on Napoli's shopping list this month, but the Red Devils have already come to a decision on his future. The Serie A champions are in the market for a new striker after a frustrating injury to Romelu Lukaku in pre-season which is set to keep him sidelined for around three months. Zirkzee is one of a number of options they like the look of, with Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta being another. The Dutchman was used regularly by Ruben Amorim last season, making 49 appearances in all competitions, but he has fallen down the pecking order over the summer. Manchester United have completely revamped their forward line, with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko coming in. Metro's new weekly football newsletter: In The Mixer. Exclusive analysis, FPL tips and transfer talk sent straight to your inbox every Friday – sign up, it's an open goal. That looks likely to become the first choice front three, with Zirkzee an option off the bench or in rotation for the number 10 or centre forward roles. However, despite being more of a squad player than a starter, Manchester United are keen to keep hold of him and do not intend to sell him this summer, reports transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Romano reports that Amorim and the Manchester United board came to the decision to keep hold of Zirkzee 'months ago' and no talks have been held over a move. The Netherlands international signed a five-year contract when he arrived at Old Trafford from Bologna in a £36.5m move last year. The former Bayern Munich man has made no suggestion that he would be interested in a move away himself, but may have been concerned on Sunday that he was left on the bench in the defeat to Arsenal. The Red Devils played well but lost 1-0 to the Gunners at Old Trafford, with Mason Mount starting in the front three with Cunha and Mbeumo. Sesko came off the bench to make his debut, but Zirkzee remained an unused substitute despite United chasing the game. More Trending Zirkzee may be down the pecking order, but he is not as far down as Rasmus Hojlund, who was not in the Manchester United squad at all on Sunday. Rasmus Hojlund Apps: 62 Goals: 14 Assists: 2 Joshua Zirkzee Apps: 32 Goals: 3 Assists: 1 The Denmark international now looks likely to leave the club this summer, with AC Milan interested in signing him. This would likely be a loan move with an option to buy the 22-year-old next summer, which Hojlund is reportedly now open to after initially being keen to stay and fight for his place. And can we please talk about THAT ROCK!!!!!" Melvin Odoom then added: "Congratulations." Mis-Teeq in talks to reunite ahead of band's 25th anniversary as Alesha Dixon confirms comeback plans She starred in the chart group alongside Alesha Dixon and Sabrina Washington. She lives in Sydney, with her fiance Ryan and their son Blu, who was born in 2021. FIGHT BACK Londoner Su-Elise's happy moment came just months after she told she had suffered another devastating miscarriage. Revealing it did not mark her first miscarriage, she said in December: "It's crazy how your life can change in 24 hours. What is miscarriage and why do pregnancies fail? MISCARRIAGE is generally the death of an unborn baby in the first 24 weeks – approximately six months – of pregnancy. Miscarriages may not be spoken about a lot but they are very common. Baby loss charity Tommy's estimates there are at least 250,000 per year in the UK and that one in every five pregnancies ends in miscarriage. It may not be clear why a miscarriage happens but they are rarely caused by anything done by the mother or father. Usually the embryo has a random genetic defect that means it cannot develop properly. Most women can go on to successfully have healthy babies in the future. The NHS says most miscarriages cannot be prevented but avoiding smoking, alcohol and drugs while pregnant can reduce the risk. Some of the other most common reasons for a pregnancy to fail in the first 24 weeks are ectopic pregnancy and molar pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy is where a fertilised egg implants somewhere outside of the womb, usually in a fallopian tube. It cannot survive and grow there so either dies naturally or must be terminated. Molar pregnancy is rarer but happens when a fertilised egg and/or placenta does not develop properly at the start of a pregnancy. There is no single reason why it happens and cannot be prevented, though it may be more common in very young or old mothers. A baby who dies after 24 weeks is considered a stillbirth. Source: NHS "This was supposed to be a beautiful pregnancy announcement, but here we are, grieving, heartbroken, and trying to come to terms with having another miscarriage." She described the shock of losing the baby despite seeing a strong heartbeat during a scan. In her post, Su-Elise added, "This was cruel and unjust. We saw your heart beating; it was so strong. Even though you were a total surprise, we wanted you so badly. We felt like all our stars had aligned, and we were ready, sooooooo ready for you." She expressed her sadness over not being able to save her baby, adding, "I wish I knew WHY your heart gave up. I wish I could have helped you. "My darling angel, it just wasn't our time for some cruel fated reason that we'll never understand. But you'll always be ours. Mummy and daddy will love you forever." She continued by thanking her unborn child, writing, "I so wish we could have had the happy ending that I know we all deserved. I love you so much. Thank you for being my everything." POP COMEBACK? Meanwhile, a career comeback could be on the cards too. Her bandmate Alesha, who who forged a solo career when the British R&B group split in 2005, has given fans fresh hope of a second stint and admitted they are further on than ever before when it comes to talking. Scandalous hitmakers Mis-Teeq were a huge part of the UK pop scene between 2001 and 2005. In a recent chat with Hits Radio's Fleur East, Will Best and James Barr, Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha has teased a fresh chapter for the super-cool girlband. James asked her if there were "any advances" on previous comeback chat, to which she replied: "There might be. "Well, next year is the 25th anniversary of Lickin' On Both Sides, our debut album." Fleur then chipped in and said: "It makes sense Alesha." The B With Me singer, who cut a cool figure in a shimmer dress and sunglasses, then continued: "So we are thinking, we're thinking. "Thinking doesn't mean we are doing, we're thinking. "Which is more than we've done." In March, Alesha teased further details on a band comeback. The star took to her Instagram Stories to re-post a clip showing the band, formed in 1999, making their debut on BBC series Top Of The Pops. 6 The Scandalous hitmaker gushed how she was excited for a 'lifetime of love' Credit: Instagram/su_elise 6 Su-Elise found fame in pop band Mis-Teeq Credit: Alamy
