Woman caught with hydroponic ganja worth ₹13.3 crore at Hyderabad Airport, arrested
Acting on specific intelligence, officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Hyderabad Zonal Unit, intercepted an Indian female passenger who arrived at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport from Bangkok on August 11. A thorough search of the passenger's check-in baggage revealed 20 packets containing a greenish lumpy substance, a release from DRI said.
Field testing confirmed the substance as cannabis. The seized material was identified as 13.3 kg of hydroponic ganja, it said.
The passenger was arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and remanded to judicial custody.
Further investigation is in progress.

Chandigarh, Aug14 (UNI) Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested Randeep Singh, also known as Randeep Malik, a key associate of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, in the United States. Malik, who is from Jind, Haryana, is accused of masterminding several high-profile crimes in India on Bishnoi's instructions while living abroad. He's currently being held at the Jackson Parish Correctional Center. The FBI has shared details of the arrest with Indian authorities, which could help dismantle the Bishnoi gang's operations. Malik is particularly wanted for his alleged role in the murder of Nadir Shah, a gym owner in Delhi's Greater Kailash-1 on September 12, 2024. According to a Delhi Police chargesheet, 'Malik allegedly arranged the supply of weapons from the US for the killing, which was planned by Lawrence Bishnoi via a video call with gangster Hashim Baba, who is lodged in Tihar Jail, while Bishnoi himself is incarcerated in Sabarmati Jail, Gujarat.' Additionally, Malik is implicated in orchestrating bomb blasts outside nightclubs in Chandigarh and Gurugram. On November 26, 2024, explosions targeted Seville Bar and Lounge, owned by singer Badshah, and De'Orra Club in Chandigarh's Sector-26. Similar attacks occurred on December 10, 2024, outside the Warehouse Club and Human Club in Gurugram's Sector-29. The responsibility for these attacks was claimed by Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara, associates of the Bishnoi gang. Investigations revealed that Malik coordinated these attacks by providing instructions to shooters named Vinay and Ajit via the Signal app and arranging the bombs. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against Malik, Goldy Brar, and others in connection with these bombings. An 18-year-old from Banaskantha in Gujarat, who had cleared NEET, was allegedly murdered by her father and uncle in a suspected 'honour killing' after they discovered she was living with her boyfriend, according to the FIR registered by police on the partner's complaint. According to police, Chandrika was allegedly given milk laced with sedatives by her father, Sendha Chaudhary, and then strangled along with her uncle, Shivram, using a dupatta on 25 June. Her body was reportedly hurriedly cremated. Police officials quoted Shivram as telling villagers that Chandrika had suffered a heart attack. While Shivram is in custody, Sendha is still at large. Murder Occurred Days Before Habeas Corpus Petition According to Haresh Chaudhary, Chandrika's partner, Shivram had visited colleges and observed boys and girls studying together. He reportedly told Chandrika's father that she should not be sent there as she might fall in love with a boy and marry him. Chandrika was allegedly cut off from social media, had her phone confiscated, and was forced to focus solely on household chores. Chandrika's murder allegedly took place just days before the Gujarat High Court was scheduled to hear a habeas corpus petition filed by Haresh, which eventually exposed what authorities are calling a 'premeditated' killing. The couple had first met in February this year. Live Events Police officials stated that Chandrika's family declared the cause of death as a heart attack and cremated the body without performing a postmortem. Haresh told police that Chandrika's last words before being offered the milk were: 'Have milk and rest well. Sleep well.' According to Haresh, the couple had signed a 'live-in agreement' just two weeks before Chandrika was killed. 'She wanted to study medicine. We were not harming anyone. Hit by mortar shell, but still fighting—BSF heroes of Op Sindoor honoured with gallantry medals
Then again, in the early hours of 10 May, multiple Pakistani drones were sighted in the area. Troops under the command of Sub-Inspector Mohammed Imteyaj neutralised one such drone. But soon after, a mortar shell possibly dropped using the drones exploded, grievously injuring five BSF jawans. Yet, they continued retaliating. According to the citations, on the intervening night of 7-8 May, Pakistani troops resorted to heavy shelling, targeting BSF outposts using flat and high trajectory weapons, followed by a drone attack. The Kharkola border outpost, barely 200 metres from the international border, was among Indian military installations that came under intense fire. New Delhi: A head constable and three constables deployed at the highly sensitive Kharkola border outpost were among 16 Border Security Force (BSF) jawans honoured with gallantry medals by the President of India this Independence Day, for display of exemplary courage during Operation Sindoor. They are Head Constable Brij Mohan Singh, Constables Depeswar Barman, Bhupendra Bajpai, Rajan Kumar and Basavaraja Shivappa Sunkada. Another recipient, Assistant Commandant Abhishek Srivastav, posted at this border outpost as part of his probation training, rushed to help the injured BSF jawans and post commander, eventually evacuating them from the area. According to BSF, SI Dev even after suffering life-threatening injuries remained conscious, stabilised himself and kept motivating fellow jawans. His left leg had to be amputated. Constable Rabha, meanwhile, sustained severe blast trauma-deep lacerations in the perineal region, injuries to thighs, left leg, and right ankle. Other gallantry medal recipients include Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajappa B.T. and Constable Manohar Xalxo. Engaged in critical resupply of arms in Jammu, both were injured when a mortar shell exploded near them. ASI Rajappa succumbed to fatal splinter injuries. ASI Udai Vir Singh, also posted in Jammu, successfully destroyed a Pakistani surveillance camera on 10 May, preventing Pakistani troops from real-time monitoring of border outposts and troop movement. ASI Singh was grievously injured when a shrapnel hit his upper lip but he continued to engage the enemy, refusing immediate evacuation. Deputy Commandant Ravindra Rathore, Inspector Devi Lal, Head Constable Sahib Singh, Constable Kanwaraj Singh and Assistant Commandant Alok Negi are the other BSF jawans honoured with the gallantry medal on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day.
