The seventh season of The Chi follows Alicia (Lynn Whitfield) and the women of Chicago's South Side attempting to protect their city. 'When Douda (Curtiss Cook) falls from the throne, the pivotal women of The Chi rise to reclaim their power. As loyalties are tested and new rivalries are stoked, it becomes clear that there's only one crown, and it will come at a heavy cost," the official synopsis reads.
In addition to Whitfield, the returning cast for the next chapter includes Jacob Latimore as Emmett Washington, Yolonda Ross as Jada, Washington Shamon Brown Jr. as Stanley 'Papa' Jackson, Michael V. Epps as Jake Taylor, Birgundi Baker as Kiesha Williams and Luke James as Victor 'Trig' Taylor.
This season also includes several exciting guest appearances, including Tony winner Phylicia Rashad, NAACP Image Award winner Wendy Raquel Robinson, and Emmy winner Karrueche Tran. Other guest stars include La La Anthony, Rolando Boyce, Judae'a Brown, Kandi Burruss, and many more.

The first episode of The Chi Season 7 premieres on Friday, May 16, at 3:00 a.m. ET on Paramount+ with Showtime. The season will also make its linear debut on Sunday, May 18, at 9:00 p.m. ET on Showtime.

The seventh season of The Chi will reportedly have 12 episodes, according to IMDb. The sixth season, which was split into two parts, featured a total of 16 episodes, while each of the first five seasons had 10 episodes.

The first episode of The Chi Season 7 premiered on Paramount+ with Showtime on Friday, May 16, and will air on Showtime on Sunday, May 18. New episodes will drop every Friday on streaming and every Sunday on linear until the Season 7 finale, expected to air in mid-August.

On a Search for an Old E.V., Jay Leno's Car Obsession Came Up Clutch

As an energy reporter on the Business desk of The New York Times, I often cover the transition to electrify the world around us, including automobiles and heating and cooling systems. But until I spoke with the historian at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, I did not know that electric cars rattled down city streets as far back as the mid-1890s. A century ago, roughly a third of taxi drivers in New York City shuttled passengers around in electric cars. I set out to write an article about these cars, and a time before lawmakers gave deference to the oil industry by offering numerous tax breaks, paving the way for gasoline-powered vehicles. But finding an original E.V. that I could ride in proved difficult. Most of them sit in museums and personal collections. Enter the comedian — and car collector — Jay Leno. My editor suggested I reach out to Mr. Leno after learning about his 1909 Baker Electric, housed in his famous garage. Mr. Leno's team gave an enthusiastic 'Yes' in reply. When I arrived at his warehouse garage in Burbank, Calif., in April, Mr. Leno had his Baker Electric charged and ready to hit the streets. The 116-year-old car, which had been refurbished, looked like it had just rolled off the showroom floor. Still, the wooden high-top body, 36-inch rubber wheels and Victorian-style upholstery whispered the car's age. Former NFL defensive end Greg Hardy arrested in Texas for alleged assault of family member
Former NFL defensive end Greg Hardy was arrested in Texas on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting a family member, according to online jail records. The six-year pro, who spent the majority of his career with the Carolina Panthers, was taken into custody by the Richardson Police Department at around 2 p.m. local time. He was arrested on one charge of assault causing bodily injury to a family member, according to jail records. He is currently in police custody. Hardy, 36, was drafted out of Ole Miss in the 6th round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He spent five seasons with the Panthers, but he was placed on the commissioner's exempt list in 2014 while a domestic violence case against him played out. FOX 4 reported that in 2014, Hardy's ex-girlfriend alleged that the NFL player assaulted her during a fit of rage. He was initially convicted of assault, but those charges were later dismissed after the victim in the case failed to appear for a second trial. Despite recording 34 sacks and 203 tackles with the Panthers, the decision not to re-sign Hardy was made. He was then signed by the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent in 2015, but he only played in 12 games that season after being issued a four-game suspension for violating the NFL Personal Conduct Policy as it related to his case in North Carolina. He was not re-signed the following year. Following his football career, Hardy made his debut in MMA in 2018.
