Premier League club make decisive move for Bayern Munich youngster

It has been a summer transfer window of disappointments for Bayern Munich as they have struggled to make decisive signings. The Bavarians reclaimed the Bundesliga last season, and they were looking to reinforce their roster this summer to push deeper in the Champions League while defending the Bundesliga crown. While they haven't signed any of their priorities, they have been extremely poor in selling their surplus players to free up funds that could facilitate more transfers. As per reports via Fabrizio Romano, they have finally managed to sell young left-back Adam Aznou to Everton for a deal worth €12m. Aznou was reportedly linked with a move to La Liga as Getafe were linked with the teenage sensation, but they failed to reach an agreement with Bayern. However, David Moyes identified the Moroccan and convinced the Everton team management to push for his signature and sealed it within a few days. 📲 Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp Why was Adam Aznou looking to leave Bayern this summer? Hailing from the fabled La Masia, Aznou moved to Bayern in 2022 after reportedly rejecting many top European clubs, only to accelerate his career in Bavaria. Unfortunately for the 19-year-old, nothing of that sort has happened to him in these three years at Bayern. He made his senior team debut in November 2024, but later in the winter winter he was loaned out to Real Valladolid, considering not ready to feature in Bayern's starting XI. He delivered some impressive performances in La Liga and had high hopes of featuring for the Bavarians at the Club World Cup. However, Vincent Kompany only handed him nine minutes of action in the tournament, that too against Auckland City. Aznou was focused on proving a point at Bayern at the Club World Cup in Alphonso Davies' absence. Hence, he didn't play a couple of friendly matches for Morocco in June to focus on his preparations for the Club World Cup. Following the tournament, the Moroccan had handed a transfer request to the Bayern bosses as he was displeased with Kompany's decisions, as per BILD. After the tournament, he understood that the prospect of getting more gametime under Kompany looks bleak, and therefore, he felt moving away from Bavaria could be beneficial. It will be interesting to see how Aznou fares in the Premier League while featuring for Everton under the tutelage of Moyes.
