Supporting Education Worldwide: Jumbo Group donates AED 1 Million to Dubai Cares
Jumbo's partnership with Dubai Cares has grown steadily over the years. What began as a pledge by Chairperson Vidya Chhabria has evolved into a long-standing collaboration that continues to support Dubai Cares in its mission to expand access to quality education for children and youth in developing countries. To date, the UAE-based global philanthropic organization has impacted the lives of 116 million individuals in 60 developing countries.
Over the past year, Jumbo has further deepened its support by introducing Dubai Cares donation boxes across all its Dubai stores, encouraging customers to support the cause through in-store donations. This initiative has successfully bridged the gap between retail and social impact, empowering the wider community to take part in meaningful giving.
'In the same spirit that has guided Jumbo over the past five decades, we continue to believe that education is the most powerful investment we can make for a better future,' said Mr. Vikas Chadha, CEO of Jumbo Electronics Ltd. 'Our partnership with Dubai Cares is not only a reflection of our founder's values but also a way for us to channel our efforts into something transformative – giving children the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. We are proud to be part of a movement that is shaping a more inclusive and empowered tomorrow.'
His Excellency Dr. Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer and Vice-Chairman of Dubai Cares said: 'Jumbo Group's enduring partnership with Dubai Cares stands as a testament to how sustained private sector engagement can drive meaningful progress in advancing children's right to education. Their consistent support reflects a deep understanding that sustainable development begins with investing in children and youth. As we navigate a rapidly evolving global landscape, partners like Jumbo are not only supporting children's learning journeys, they are helping shape resilient, future-ready communities. Their commitment exemplifies how businesses can lead with purpose and be a force for transformative change.'
In addition to its support for Dubai Cares, Jumbo continues to invest in initiatives that uplift the community. This includes its partnership with Dubai Police, where the company supports the Annual Esports Tournament to promote digital literacy, responsible gaming, and online safety among youth.
As the Group looks ahead to the next chapter of its journey, Jumbo remains focused on making a difference where it matters most — through education, innovation, and collaboration that serves the greater good.

Around 10,000 millionaires are expected to move to Dubai in 2025, driven by lifestyle, infrastructure and investment opportunities, signalling a shift from transient ownership to long-term settlement. Aug 20, 2025 Dubai is expected to see nearly 10,000 millionaires relocate to the city in 2025, cementing its status as a global hub for wealth and investment. According to a Betterhomes report, the influx marks a broader shift from temporary ownership to permanent settlement. High-net-worth individuals are now spending an average of AED 11.4 million per residential transaction, while ultra-wealthy families are investing upwards of AED 134 million in legacy compounds and branded waterfront properties. The property market reflects this trend: villa and townhouse sales have reached AED 147.2 billion so far this year, with premium locations such as Palm Jumeirah and Emirates Hills leading high-end transactions. Homes priced above AED 35 million saw 146 deals within six months, totalling AED 9.4 billion. While Dubai's long-standing no personal income tax policy continues to attract wealthy individuals, the report highlights other factors contributing to this shift, from lifestyle and infrastructure to business opportunities and global connectivity.

TIME Hotels reports impressive 6.3% summer 2025 occupancy growth
The hospitality company has witnessed increased demand from family, Gen Z and millennial travellers, driving substantial occupancy gains Strong summer performance attributed to strategic market approach and range of guest-centric initiatives Dubai, United Arab Emirates,August 2025: TIME Hotels, the UAE-born hospitality brand, has announced positive summer 2025 results, recording significant year-on-year growth in occupany, Average Daily Rates (ADR), and Revenue Per Available Room (RevPar), underscoring the company's strategic focus on high-growth markets and highlighting the region's increasing appeal as a year-round tourism destination. During June this year, TIME Hotels saw a notable 6.3% rise in occupancy compared to the previous year, indicating increased demand during the quieter summer months. Year-to-date, the group has achieved an overall 16.6% growth in occupancy compared to the same period in 2024, demonstrating the company's ability to sustain volume during off-peak travel periods. Furthermore, the company has achieved double-digit growth in ADR and RevPar figures, supported by a pricing strategy implemented to boost volume and value. Mohamed Awadalla, CEO of TIME Hotels, said: 'Our performance this summer demonstrates our strategic focus on flexibility and guest-oriented offerings. By recognising new guest segments and proactively responding with customised products and experiences, we continue to strengthen our competitive edge. 'Moving forward, we remain committed to solidifying our position as the preferred hotel operator among travellers, as well as supporting the Middle East's reputation as an appealing, year-round travel destination.' Analysis of guest booking patterns across TIME Hotels' portfolio has identified two key travel segments driving growth. Summer 2025 has experienced significant increases in bookings from families, especially those from GCC countries and other regional markets, who are increasingly favouring long-stay packages, interconnected rooms, and bundled offers that include activities for children, dining incentives, and shopping discounts. The company also reported increased interest from younger travellers, including Gen Z and millennials. These guests are typically prioritising shorter, experience-rich city breaks, digital booking convenience, and immersive local activities. The brand's properties in urban centres such as Dubai and Sharjah have particularly resonated with this demographic, capitalising on a strong social media presence and innovative, contactless hospitality solutions. The sustained growth of TIME Hotels aligns with broader regional trends, positioning the Middle East as a year-round destination. Enhanced indoor attractions, comprehensive event calendars, favourable summer hotel rates, and proactive government-driven tourism campaigns have collectively increased the region's appeal. Further highlighting the region's appeal as a tourism destination throughout the year, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) recently announced that the emirate welcomed 9.88 million international overnight visitors between January and June 2025, a 6 per cent increase from the same period in 2024. 'At TIME Hotels, we will continue to capitalise on the numerous factors attracting visitors to this region through strategic marketing initiatives and customised guest experiences that directly respond to changing traveller preferences,' said Awadalla 'With our robust summer performance serving as a solid foundation, we are in a strong position to maintain this growth trajectory,' he concluded. TIME Hotels currently operates 17 hotels throughout the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, with over 3,000 keys, and has 12 properties and 5,000 keys in the pipeline, including properties across Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Morocco, and the Indian Ocean. The expansion into these countries is supported by the strategic rollout of the group's expanding portfolio of brands. These include VIVI by TIME, a bold lifestyle brand; HALO by TIME, a premium upscale offering; and Rotella, TIME Hotels' luxury concept designed to provide exclusivity, sophistication, and culturally enriched hospitality. The company is also repositioning its residential offerings across three distinct tiers, TIME Residences Classic, Executive, and Premium, to serve both long- and short-stay guests.
