India specific Mercedes-AMG G 63 'Collector's Edition' to launch tomorrow
The teaser images revealed by the automaker suggest a glossy exterior finish color for the SUV, a glossy orange exterior paint color to be precise. Apart from this, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 'Collector's Edition new alloy wheel design too. On the other hand, the overall shape and silhouette of the SUV is likely to remain unchanged, while principal design features are also going to be the same as those of the standard model.

Mercedes-AMG G 63 'Collector's Edition': Features and specs
Inside too, the specs sheet and the cabin design should be the same as the regular model. The new-generation MBUX infotainment system found in the GLS facelift is featured on the 2025 G 63. The system comes with a 12.3 inch infotainment display and a corresponding digital instrument display of the same size. The new 'Collector's Edition of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 instead is likely to get a new theme for the interior, as per the Indian conditions. The material selection for the interior lining and upholstery could also change since it's a 'Collector's Edition' model.

The spec sheet of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 'Collector's Edition' will also be the same as the standard model. The 2025 G 63 is powered by a handcrafted 4.0-litre V8 engine. It delivers 576 bhp of top power and a top torque output of 850 Nm. It also receives an additional 20 bhp of juice with the mild hybrid technology. The duty gearbox is a 9-speed dual-clutch automatic. There are also paddle shifters available if the driver wishes to be in control manually.

Recently, we took the MG Hector diesel manual in for its 30,000 km service , a key milestone for a diesel SUV. To top it off, the service bill was surprisingly affordable for an SUV of this size and segment, making the overall experience even more satisfying. Here's how it all went down. Having visited a variety of service centres over the years, from to Mercedes-Benz , I was genuinely impressed by what I saw here. The offices and waiting lounge were top-class, while the service floor was immaculately maintained. Every car had its own dedicated technician and service advisor, and there was ample space for movement. The facility was airy, well-lit, and designed to help technicians spot even the smallest details during inspections. What stood out was how self-contained the setup was. The Mysore centre houses a built-in paint booth alongside the body shop, as well as a dedicated washing bay, meaning vehicles never need to leave the premises during the process. Technicians followed a proper dress code and adhered to all safety measures, including helmets, goggles, safety shoes, gloves, and face masks. The service advisor handling my Hector was knowledgeable and answered all my queries with ease. Now, onto the servicing itself. From start to finish, the process was smooth, transparent, and refreshingly free of unnecessary add-ons. With service quality like this and costs that don't break the bank, the MG Hector continues to prove itself as a solid choice in the segment, both on the road and in the service bay. Recently, as part of its 6th anniversary celebrations, MG Motor India announced limited-period price cuts on the Hector and Hector Plus SUVs. The extent of the reduction varies depending on the variant and model availability, with discounts going up to Rs 2.30 lakh. The car is powered by FCA's 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine, paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission. The gearbox offers smooth, precise shifts, complementing the engine's strong performance. Producing 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque, the motor is free-revving and delivers ample power despite the vehicle's considerable weight. A strong low-end ensures easy drivability in both city traffic and on highways, while the wide torque band reduces the need for frequent gear changes. In fact, the engine is flexible enough to pull away from a standstill in second gear. On the highway, the engine's free-revving nature makes the car feel quick and responsive. In its BS6 iteration, refinement has improved noticeably, with additional noise insulation under the bonnet keeping vibrations and harshness in check. Efficiency is another strong point, during highway runs, we managed to extract an impressive 23.2 kmpl, which is remarkable for an SUV of this size. Volkswagen launches 'upgrade' plan at as low as ₹2,000 per month; Check cars eligible for this upgrade
Volkswagen has introduced a subscription-based model in the UK that allows customers of its electric cars to unlock higher horsepower by paying extra, the BBC reported. The system applies to the ID.3 and ID.4 models, which start with 201 horsepower but can be increased to 228 horsepower for a fee. The optional upgrade costs ₹1,945 (£16.50) per month, ₹19,450 (£165) annually, or ₹76,506 (£649) for a one-time lifetime purchase. Company's explanation A Volkswagen spokesperson said the move reflects a long-standing practice in the automobile sector. 'Historically many petrol and diesel vehicles have been offered with engines of the same size, but with the possibility of choosing one with more potency,' the spokesperson said, adding that the subscription was designed to offer customers flexibility. According to the company, the power upgrade allows a 'sportier' driving experience without committing to a higher upfront purchase price. Customer backlash Despite Volkswagen's reasoning, many customers expressed disappointment on social media. Critics described the system as 'artificial gatekeeping' and a 'cash grab.' 'When there's a will, there's a way. It'll be like ECU tuning except now you gotta have the skills of an iPhone jailbreaker,' one user wrote.
