Jay-Z Disses Kanye West With Lyric Swap Months After He Publicly Disrespected His Kids
While hitting the stage alongside Beyoncé during her 'Cowboy Carter' show in Paris on Sunday, Jay-Z made a very noticeable lyric change.
While performing his and West's 2011 hit song 'N—s in Paris' from their joint album 'Watch the Throne,' Jay-Z swapped the tune's original lyrics 'just might let you meet Ye' to 'just might let you meet Bey,' as seen in clips shared by social media users.
As expected, social media users on X, formerly Twitter, reacted to Jay-Z's shady, altered lyrics.

Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) and West, who goes by Ye, went from collaborating as tight-knit friends in the music industry to falling out over the last decade.
The pair was once one of the most dynamic duos in hip-hop, but in recent years Ye has frequently made headlines for his controversial comments, including antisemitic statements shared on social media, and erratic behavior, subsequently losing multiple brand deals.
Back in March, Ye was criticized by social media users after he posted ableist comments aimed at Jay-Z and Beyoncé's twin kids — Rumi and Sir. The 'Drunk in Love' collaborators, who tied the knot in 2008 also share daughter Blue Ivy.
'WAIT HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN JAY Z AND BEYONCES YOUNGER KIDS,' the rapper said in a since-deleted tweet. 'THEYRE RETARDED NO LIKE LITERALLY.'
Jay-Z has not publicly addressed Ye's comments about Rumi and Sir.
The record executive previously broke his silence on his strained relationship with Ye while speaking with The New York Times in 2017.
'He's my brother. I love Kanye. I do. It's a complicated relationship with us,' he told the outlet. 'Kanye came into this business on my label. So I've always been like his big brother. And we're both entertainers. It's always been like a little underlying competition with your big brother.'
Jay-Z added: 'And we both love and respect each other's art too … And then there's like a lot of other factors that play in it. But it's gonna, we gonna always be good.'

Willow Smith Posts Crying Photo & Talks About ‘Eating P—-‘
sparked widespread concern after she uploaded a selfie of herself crying on Instagram. Fans soon took to social media to criticize her famous parents, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith — who share a complicated dynamic that has often been reported on — for their parenting. In 2019, the singer, who is currently signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation, made headlines after she came out as bisexual and identified as polyamorous. Willow Smith posts picture of herself crying on Instagram The 'Wait a Minute!' singer recently shared a crying selfie on social media. 'Who ate all the p—,' Willow Smith captioned the photo on her Instagram stories. Fans online reacted to the picture in a variety of ways. Some highlighted and questioned Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's parenting, blaming it for the 24-year-old musician's behavior. 'Why are Will Smith's kids so weird?' a fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter). 'Will Smith and Jada have utterly failed as parents,' another fan commented. 'Their kids are dumb as hell.' Moreover, one fan suggested that a documentary be made on the Smith family's life. They wrote, 'Ngl, we need a 6-part documentary on this entire family.' The fan reactions also included discussions about Willow Smith's sexuality. Previously, she came out as bisexual in a 2019 appearance on Red Table Talk, noting she loved 'men and women equally.' Moreover, in a 2021 appearance on the talk show, the 'Coping Mechanism' singer shared that she identified as polyamorous. She also noted that 'antiquated' monogamy led to infidelity. Smith explained, 'With polyamory, I feel like the main foundation is the freedom to be able to create a relationship style that works for you and not just [to be] stepping into monogamy because that's what everyone around you says is the right thing to do.' Willow Smith later addressed the fan reactions in a separate Instagram story. She mocked fans for their concern, calling them 'dense.' Smith wrote, 'Y'all forgot funny existed!' Further, she compared their concern to 'molasses' that was 'slow but also sweet though.' (via E! Online) Originally reported by Abdul Azim Naushad on Mandatory. Gavin Newsom Trolls JD Vance With Viral Video: 'Go Get ‘Em JD!'
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) trolled Vice President JD Vance over his reported attendance at a White House peace summit on Ukraine, appearing to mock Vance's role as the president's attack dog. In recent months, the governor has adopted an aggressive social media strategy as he's become one of the most prominent Democratic Party critics of the Trump administration. Newsom, seen by many as a potential presidential candidate in 2028, and his press team have taken to mimicking Trump's social media writing style, in particular the all-caps screeds and nicknames that have become familiar tropes. They have now turned their attention to Vance, who is also seen as a presidential hopeful for the next general election. On Monday, the Democrat responded to reports that Vance would be in the Oval Office when Trump meets Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later in the day. In February, Vance was a key player during the notorious Trump-Zelenskyy clash at the White House, with the U.S. vice president berating Ukraine's president for being 'disrespectful' and not 'thanking the president.' Vance also laughed when a reporter asked the wartime leader why he was not wearing a suit. In a message on X, formerly Twitter, Newsom shared a post that teed up 'another Oval Office showdown,' with the governor adding a video of Vance running awkwardly at the Disneyland theme park in California this summer with the caption: 'Go get 'em JD!' Related: Vance told the 'The Katie Miller Podcast' last week that the video caught him playing a game of 'Ogre' with his children where 'I don't run full speed.' 'And so I was playing 'Ogre' and that was what caused the great scandal of how I ran it,' Vance told Miller, who is the wife of Trump adviser Stephen Miller. Newsom's team also got in on the act Monday, posting an altered picture of Vance's face on the body of Australian breakdancer Rachael 'Raygun' Gunn, who went viral during last year's Olympics for her less-than-impressive technique. The image, which includes the words 'J.D. Dance,' is below a derisory caption that reads: 'A highly anticipated 'showdown.'' Newsom aides recently dubbed the vice president 'Just Dance' Vance. The governor's office premiered the nomenclature last week when commenting on the Trump administration's attempts to redraw state electoral maps ahead of next year's midterms. 'NOT EVEN JD 'JUST DANCE' VANCE CAN SAVE TRUMP FROM THE DISASTROUS MAPS 'WAR' HE HAS STARTED,' Newsom's office wrote on X, copying Trump's all-caps style. Related... Meet the 'social magazine' app that started as a newsletter interviewing celebs like Charli XCX
"Do you miss the old internet?" That's the question you're hit with if you find yourself on the website for Perfectly Imperfect. Founded in 2020 by Tyler Bainbridge, a former engineer at Meta, and Alex Cushing, Perfectly Imperfect is a culture newsletter that has interviewed downtown New York idols and celebrities from Charli XCX to Lorde. It launched a social networking app in 2024. Bainbridge told Business Insider that his project is trying to capture what the old internet "felt like." "When it felt like the goal was to bring people together and the content that people were sharing was purely driven by a need to connect," he said. The Perfectly Imperfect app, called does feel like it exists in an older version of the internet. I've been using the app myself for over a year, and it's been one of the closest comparable experiences to the yee-old days of Tumblr or pre-Elon Twitter I've found in my endless pursuit of new corners of the internet. The app is built around a feed filled with users' "recs" for music and movies, with life advice and other content sprinkled in. Usernames are sometimes pseudonyms and call back to the Tumblr blog names that teens would vie for. Like Tumblr or MySpace, users' profile pages are customizable. Jacob Bijani, the blogging site's fifth employee. Bainbridge describes PI as a "social magazine." He's part of a cohort of founders and users seeking experiences outside platforms like Meta's Instagram and Facebook, X, or TikTok. New social networks have been cropping up in the last few years, and investors are on the hunt for the next big thing in social to emerge. While there's been some contenders since the rise of TikTok — such as Clubhouse or BeReal — many apps have had fleeting virality. The business of a 'social magazine' Bainbridge said that the newsletter has about 140,000 subscribers, of whom 74,000 have joined the app. Formerly a Substack newsletter, PI left the platform in 2024 and now runs its newsletter internally. Paid subscriptions are $6 a month and unlock features like the ability to further customize your profile, access the newsletter archive, and receive extra newsletter content. Bainbridge said PI has about 2,000 paying users as of late July. Revenue is split mostly between these subscriptions and partnerships with brands, Bainbridge said. PI recently worked with Hinge on a guide about being awkward as part of the Match Group-owned dating app's One More Hour initiative, which set aside $1 million to back projects fueling in-person connection. While the PI newsletter has ads, Bainbridge said he plans to keep the social app free of ads because they could "diminish the user experience." Bainbridge said the company has raised capital to hire more staff, expand into video, and grow the app. He declined to disclose the size of the raise. The PI team consists of three full-time staffers and five part-time contractors, Bainbridge said. Turning recommendations into real-life experiences Earlier this year, PI rolled out a feature that lets users share whether they're single and who they're interested in. "I heard about a lot of people who started dating on the platform, and to me it makes perfect sense," he said. "There's a nice big photo of someone, and then right below that is exactly what they're interested in as a person." People were also organizing meetups on the app, Bainbridge said, which fueled the app's conviction around its latest product overhaul: events. The app now lets users share events happening in their area to the public feed, such as concerts or an arts and crafts night. Some are organized by PI, too, like a bowling event in Brooklyn sponsored by Hinge. PI's next era has shades of Facebook's events and Reddit's niche communities. Later this year, PI plans to expand its app further with tools to make private communities or groups. "We want to hit a million users sometime next year," Bainbridge said. "I think a lot of that's going to come from some of these product-oriented growth features."
