Hollywood star to host new ITV game show which is already a smash hit around the globe
A GLOBAL quiz phenomenon is coming to ITV on Saturday nights — and chances are, if you've been abroad lately, you have already heard of it.
Like The Traitors or Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, The Floor is a blockbuster format that's conquered TV markets around the world, including the US, where it's fronted by movie star Rob Lowe.

Now it's heading for its 25th territory, the UK.
The show will land here next year, though ITV bosses are yet to reveal which famous face will be taking the helm in our version.
Katie Rawcliffe, ITV's director of entertainment, said: 'The Floor, with its compelling gameplay, is an excellent addition to our roster of existing popular quiz shows across ITV and ITVX.'
Originally a Dutch show, it features 81 quiz fanatics facing off in duels on a giant LED floor divided into 81 squares, each representing its own field of knowledge.

The goal is to conquer the entire floor and take home a huge cash prize, with each duel upping the stakes and the tension.
The Floor has already been a big hit in countries including Australia, Poland and Spain and recently launched in Estonia and Latvia.
Over in the US, it has already run for three seasons, and hiring such a big Hollywood name to front it was an instant sign of TV bosses' confidence in the format.
Now broadcaster Fox has ordered two more seasons, continuing the format through next year and 2027 in America.

Sounds like they'll soon be flooring Brit quiz fans, too.

PIERCE BROSNAN and Helen Mirren have hit the campaign trail for Netflix's The Thursday Murder Club.
The movie adaptation of Richard Osman's crime novel tells the story of a group of pensioners whose hobby of investigating unsolved killings explodes when a real-life murder lands on their patch.

The book is set in a quiet village in Kent – but if Pierce and Helen's glam appearance on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight show in the US is anything to go by, their film will be more Hollywood than humdrum.
Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie also star, with the movie debuting in cinemas on August 22 before it appears on Netflix on August 28.

'Molly came to me with this stuff, and I said, 'What you're best off doing with him, Molly, is walking away because if he is not gonna change himself, he doesn't think that much of you, does he?''
In the show, fighter Tommy discusses alleged infidelities prior to their brief split last year, but he maintains: 'The reason for our ending the relationship was alcohol.'

With the working title Call Yourself A Fan?, the show aims to echo the spirit of Soccer AM and Fantasy Football League.

Sounds like a winner.

Now the daytime show will celebrate the healing power of music for the Loose ladies with a one-off show.
Loose Women: The Music will feature special performances and stories shared by the cast about the times music has helped them.
The special will be recorded later this month.

Perhaps they can tempt ex-Loosey Jane McDonald back to sing a tune or two.
ITV has announced new shows as part of its Fresh Cuts diversity push.
Sketch show Say! Less! stars rising black comedy stars, while in The Blind Matchmakers, a trio of vision-impaired love gurus helping singles find love.

Coronation Street fans 'know what's going on with Costello' and he's 'not corrupt'
Coronation Street viewers were left divided over some suspicious behaviour by DI Costello on the ITV soap, amid hints he could be corrupt after scenes with Kit Green Lisa Swain was left suspicious of DI Costello on Coronation Street on Monday, having initially believed her colleague Kit Green was the one hiding something. But DS Swain is not the only one sure something much bigger is going on, with fans divided over what Costello could be hiding. In the latest episode, we saw Kit seemingly make a discovery before noting down a phone number and Costello's name. So when Lisa figured this out she was confused and keen to get to the bottom of it, even dropping Kit in it when she asked her boss Costello all about it. It comes amid fans believing Costello is a corrupt officer and that the mystery police files he's refusing Kit and Lisa access to could expose him, and his possible link to Becky Swain's death. Nothing has been confirmed, and while Costello recently warned Lisa away she doesn't seem overly worried about him. In fact it's Kit she knows is up to something after he recently tried to access Becky's files. It's this week that he admits to his partner Sarah Platt that said files, from a case Becky was working on before her death years earlier, seem to be linked to a case he is on at the moment. The fact he was digging left him getting scolded by Costello, and Lisa confronted him too. But what neither of them know is that Kit has continued to look into matters in secret, but Lisa may have blown his cover. She asked Costello why Kit would have noted down his name and number, knowing it wasn't the one she had for him. Costello seemed clueless, but you could also tell he was panicked by the idea that Kit was onto him. Whatever it is he's hiding wasn't made clear, but fans said there was a moment where his "mask slipped" and it became clear what he was up to. With him warning Lisa to stay away from Kit, telling her he will drag her down with him, his anti-Kit campaign was evident. Fans were once again under the belief that Costello needs the pair to stop looking into the files, but to also stay apart from each other. That said, some fans have come up with a new theory linked to this, but it would suggest Costello isn't the corrupt one after all. Some viewers are speculating Costello is protecting someone else who is corrupt, or perhaps someone higher up is the one to be worried about, and he's looking into matters but wants no one else involved. One fan said on social media: "I don't think it's Costello it's too easy maybe he protected someone higher up. Another fan questioned: "Possibly, could be a higher up trying to frame him? He definitely knows something though. Whether it's actually him or not." So is someone out to get Costello? Or is he hiding something seriously dark, and could it lead to the truth about Becky's death being revealed? The scenes did nothing to cool theories of Costello being linked to this for some fans, but we'll all just have to wait and see! Love Islander ‘hard launches new girlfriend' on TikTok after hooking up on rival show – but fans slam ‘showmance'
LOVE Island star Scott van der Sluis has fans convinced he's got a new girlfriend after another reality show stint – despite walking off from her on screen. The Welsh reality star has been keeping himself busy with a string of dating shows across the years, with the latest being Netflix's Perfect Match. 5 5 5 The series – which puts former reality stars into a house to compete in challenges and spark romantic connections with each other – saw Scott form a connection with Siesta Key's Juliette Porter, going on dates together and heavily flirting. However, their romance spectacularly blew up when Love Island USA's Carrington Rodriguez told him she had slated their connection to him, saying Scott was "too immature" for her. Rather than confront her, Scott and Carrington opted to immediately walk off the show together – in the process ensuring Juliette would be axed from the show as well, as you can only remain in the house if you're in a couple. However, nearly a year after the show was filmed, it seems the pair have healed their connection, performing a TikTok together on Juliette's socials. Surrounded by other members of the Perfect Match cast, including Carrington, the duo were seen passionately lipsyncing to Beyoncé's Tyrant to each other outside a bar. With Juliette having a drink in her hand, she at one point pulls Scott's head to her chest, and he responds by grabbing her face, seemingly trying to pull in for a kiss she pulls away from. Although the TikTok was posted five days before the finale – which saw their dramatic fallout – fans are unconvinced that they're now a couple. "after watching the finale and now seeing this, i'm just laughing so hard," wrote one. "Scott will do anything for attention," wrote a second, while a third said: "You deserve each other and I mean that in the worst way possible." However others thought they were "made to be a couple", with one noting: "They have to be dating as he's had a style upgrade". Love Island fans 'work out' show star is 'in talks for The Traitors series 3' after he accidentally drops massive clue "Please, I need them together," added a third. Scott is yet to confirm any new romance since the end of Perfect Match, which ended last week. However, he has announced that he's "retiring" from dating shows after appearing on Love Island, Love Island USA, Love Island Games and now Perfect Match. Celebrating the finale, he wrote on Instagram: "Anywaysss after 4 TV shows, trips to Fiji, Mallorca and Mexico, and 2 years of incredible memories, it's finally time to say SCOTTISHA IS RETIRED. "Peace out people, hope you all enjoyed the journey. ✌️" 5 5

The last series of the show, which was won by Toni and Cach, was inundated with complaints throughout - making it the most offensive in four years. 4 Ofcom will not be taking action about any of the Love Island complaints Credit: Eroteme 4 Meg was accused of bullying during her time on the show Credit: Shutterstock Editorial In just one week of the show Ofcom received 9,000 complaints about alleged bullying behaviour towards Shakira. It was the second most complained about Love Island week in history - the first was season seven when Faye Winter kicked off after Casa Amor with total of 29,101 in just one week. Despite viewer's concern, the regulator will not be taking any further action. A spokesperson said."We carefully assessed the complaints we received about this series of Love Island. "We recognise that emotionally charged or confrontational scenes can upset some viewers. "But, in our view, negative behaviour in the villa was not shown in a positive light, and contestants were seen supporting or apologising to each other. "We also took into account that the format of this reality show is well-established, and viewers would expect to see highs and lows as relationships and friendships are tested." Ofcom received 14,167 complaints about the ITV reality series, including 24 about spin-off show Love Island: Unseen Bits, with the highest number of complaints coming on July 24, which saw 3,549 complaints relating to alleged bullying behaviour towards contestant Shakira Khan. Further complaints were made about the show's producers bringing contestant Megan Forte Clarke back onto the programme after she was dumped from the villa, and alleged race and gender based discrimination. Love Island's 12th series ran from June 9 to August 4 and Toni Laites and Cach Mercer took home the £50k, while Khan and Harry Cooksley finished as runners-up.
