Glenn Maxwell delivered a knock for Washington Freedom, hammering his eighth T20 century against the Los Angeles Knight Riders in Major League Cricket.

The Australian all-rounder reached his hundred in just 48 balls, finishing with 106 off 49 deliveries, including 13 sixes and two fours.
Maxwell, who came in at number six, had a slow start with just 11 runs from his first 15 balls. However, he shifted gears dramatically, launching into an explosive innings that turned the game on its head. The momentum changed in the 14th over, when Maxwell took on fellow Australian Tanveer Sangha, hitting three consecutive sixes to ignite the assault.
'Came in slightly different circumstances, needed to bat differently, started pretty slow, but once I thought we needed a few more runs, took my shots, and it came off. We just needed to bat time at that stage. I was hoping that Chapman and I could take it deep; we could maybe target the last 5-6 overs and manipulate the field. It is pretty cool,' Maxwell told broadcasters.
At 92-5 in the 12th over, Washington appeared to be heading for a subpar total. But Maxwell's blistering knock propelled the side to 208-5 in their 20 overs. He shared an unbroken 116-run partnership with Obus Pienaar, who supported with 14 off 15 balls while rotating strike to keep Maxwell on.

In addition to the match-winning performance, Maxwell crossed a major milestone by surpassing 10,500 career runs in T20 cricket. The 36-year-old also has 178 T20 wickets, underlining his all-round value in the format.
This was Maxwell's first century in Major League Cricket, and it lit up the Oakland Coliseum in California.
