Gaza Government Media Office: EU complicit politically & morally in Israeli genocide
Gaza – Saba: The Government Media Office in Gaza stated on Friday that the European Union (EU) is politically and morally complicit in the genocide committed by the "Israeli enemy" authorities against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the Government Media Office expressed shock and outrage at the official European stance, as voiced by representatives during the recent EU foreign ministers' meeting in Brussels. It stated that the official European position reflects the EU's moral and political failure in the face of the genocide carried out by the Israeli enemy authorities in Gaza for 650 consecutive days. The Media Office referenced former EU High Representative Josep Borrell's remarks, in which he confirmed that "Europe has decided not to punish Israel and to allow the genocide to continue relentlessly," describing it as damning testimony from within the European institution itself, exposing the extent of Western complicity. "The EU has crossed all red lines as it watches 2.4 million Palestinian civilians being slaughtered, starved, and mercilessly displaced without activating a single accountability mechanism—even though the Israeli enemy authorities are blatantly violating the human rights clause in the EU partnership agreement," it added. "Merely 'monitoring closely' is a betrayal of the humanitarian values Europe has long championed, and the absence of punitive measures is a green light for the ongoing massacres of civilians with explicit European approval," the statement continued. The Gaza Government Media Office held the EU fully responsible, both politically and morally, for this ongoing crime. It called on the bloc to end its hypocrisy, complicity, and double standards, urging immediate and concrete action to suspend the partnership agreement, hold the Israeli enemy accountable for its crimes, and bring Israeli war criminals to justice.
