Miami Dolphins rookies Kenneth Grant and Jonah Savaiinaea get these tips from veterans

Miami Dolphins center Aaron Brewer has seen those highlights of rookie guard Jonah Savaiinaea, just like you.
"Special," Brewer said of Savaiinaea. "Big dude. But he's a big dude who can move. As soon as I seen really every position who was drafted, I'm looking up highlights, combine, all that good stuff."

Brewer said he quickly reached out to Savaiinaea.
"Let him know I was excited to work with him," Brewer said. "As soon as you get here. I'm just trying to give him that mentality and get him to the standard, ASAP."
Miami used their first two picks to build the trenches. First it was massive defensive tackle Kenneth Grant, followed by massive guard Savaiinaea.
In the same way veterans like Brewer, James Daniels and Austin Jackson will be called upon to help Savaiinaea, Grant will be mentored by Zach Sieler.

Grant would be wise to listen to and watch how Sieler moves and operates.
"I'll tell any rookies that come in, I've told guys over the years that came through here, like, look, like 'What you did in college is awesome, but like the real show starts now,'" Sieler said.

"I don't know if that's what you worked for your whole life. There's a whole different level of attitudes now. And like, this is guys' livelihoods. I mean, these guys have families. These guys have kids that they're trying to take care of. So, just don't mess around. Like, it's time to get real."
Miami Dolphins to lean on rookies Kenneth Grant, Jonah Savaiinaea
In an ideal world, Sieler-Grant has a similar impact to past duos of Sieler-Calais Campbell and Sieler-Christian Wilkins.
Sieler is more ready than even to push young teammates.
Brewer, the center, said there were things he learned from veterans as a rookie that he's kept with him since.

"I would say be proactive with my recovery," Brewer said. "Because you're young, you're young and full of energy. You just, you on the go. You're trying to impress coaches and pressure teammates and impress the vets. And the biggest part of longevity in this league is recovery. And so it's all like one. Don't wait later on down the line to start taking care of your body. Like, this is your moneymaker. Every single day, have your routine."

Shane Battier on LeBron's 45-point performance against the Celtics in Game 6 of 2012 ECF: "It was the greatest game I saw anybody play"

Shane Battier on LeBron's 45-point performance against the Celtics in Game 6 of 2012 ECF: "It was the greatest game I saw anybody play" originally appeared on Basketball Network. In 2011, LeBron James' championship hopes in a Miami Heat uniform fell flat at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks. A year later, he stood on the edge of the same cliff, this time against the Boston Celtics in the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals. But instead of crashing out, he flipped the narrative and slammed the door on Boston's Big Three era. Advertisement The defining moment of that series came in Game 6, with the Heat teetering on the edge of elimination. The 2003 first-overall pick erupted with surgical fury, delivering a performance so commanding that Shane Battier swore it was the greatest thing his eyes had ever witnessed. "I mean, it was the greatest game I saw anybody play," Battier said of James' 45-point, 15-rebound performance on "Pablo Torre Finds Out." "Given the stakes, given the gravity of the situation, given the historical implications. Historical!" Man on a mission "Batman" wasn't the only guy who thought James's performance was the most brilliant ever on a basketball court. Heat veteran Udonis Haslem also felt the same way as he saw a pissed-off Bron pick the C's apart with terrifying precision. As Torre mentioned, "The Chosen One" dropped five dimes on top of 45 and 15 on a 19-for-26 clip! Advertisement Truth be told, James did not rise to the occasion when it mattered the most in the 2011 Finals. He never led in scoring in any game of the series while attempting only 10 shots in total in the fourth quarter of Games 4 to 6. As a result, he earned a reputation as somebody who couldn't finish the job and someone who lacked the killer instinct. The 2012 East Finals were starting to look like another heartbreak for LeBron. In Game 5, the image of Paul Pierce drilling a three on his face to give Boston a narrow win deepened the narrative. LBJ had 30 points and 13 rebounds, but he failed to score a single basket in the final 8:12 of the game. When Game 6 rolled around and the Heat facing elimination, the four-time NBA MVP decided to take matters into his own hands. After a 12-12 deadlock in the first quarter, Miami steamrolled Boston, leading by as much as 22, and settled for a 19-point win, 98-79. Game 7 was much closer, but "The Chosen One" made sure he saved the best for last. He dropped 11 of his 31 in the fourth period, including a three-pointer that stretched the lead to seven, a lead Miami never relinquished en route to a 101-88 victory. Battier agreed, all the more so that James won the first of his four championships later that year. As per usual, the Duke product had jokes to go along with it. "I'm always going with LeBron (in the GOAT debate) for a simple reason," Battier declared. "LeBron did something twice that Jordan, I don't think, could have done once. He won two NBA titles with Shane Battier as a starting power forward. No way Jordan could have done that. As great as Jordan was, LeBron dragged me across the finish line." Advertisement Battier's GOAT argument may be tongue-in-cheek and self-deprecating, but there's a kernel of truth to it. Game 6 was LeBron taking control of the narrative and showing he could carry legacy-level weight when it mattered most. Honestly, he could've played alongside an 80-year-old Bob Cousy that night and still come out on top. Countdown to Kickoff: Davon Godchaux is the Saints Player of Day 92

Countdown to Kickoff: Davon Godchaux is the Saints Player of Day 92 Trading for Davon Godchaux could improve the Saints' run defense. The New Orleans Saints sit 92 days away from their 2025 regular season opener against the Arizona Cardinals. New Orleans will also have a new player in jersey number 92 this season. Defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon wore 92 for the last two years. The number stays on the defensive line this year, but will now go to Davon Godchaux after an offseason trade. Today we take a closer look at Godchaux, our Saints Player of the Day. Name (age): Davon Godchaux (30) Davon Godchaux (30) Hometown: Plaquemine, La. Plaquemine, La. Position: Defensive tackle Defensive tackle Height, weight: 6-foot-3, 330 pounds 6-foot-3, 330 pounds Relative Athletic Score: 2.52 2.52 College: LSU Tigers LSU Tigers Drafted: Round 5, 178th overall in 2017 (Miami Dolphins) Round 5, 178th overall in 2017 (Miami Dolphins) NFL experience: 8 seasons 8 seasons 2025 salary cap hit: $1,944,000 An all-state defensive lineman at Plaquemine Senior High School in Louisiana, Godchaux stayed close to home with his choice of Louisiana State over recruiting pitches from other SEC powers. He'd become a starter midway through his freshman year, playing both end and inside for the LSU defense. Over his last two seasons with the Tigers, Godchaux had 12.5 sacks and 20 tackles for loss. The Miami Dolphins selected Godchaux with the 34th choice in Round 5 of a loaded 2017 draft. He appeared in 15 games as a rookie, starting five and playing over 50% of the defensive snaps. In four years with Miami, Godchaux had 3 sacks with 19 pressures and 12 tackles for negative yardage. He'd hit free agency in 2021, where he'd be signed by the New England Patriots. Godchaux played the last four seasons in New England. Over that time he'd have 2.5 sacks with 16 pressures and 8 tackles for loss while averaging around 60% of the defensive snaps. New Orleans dealt a 2026 seventh round draft choice to the Patriots this offseason to acquire Godchaux. It's likely that he'll compete for the nose tackle spot in new defensive coordinator Brandon Staley's 3-4 scheme. He'll have plenty of competition for a job. The Saints return tackles Bryan Bresee, Nathan Shepherd, Khalen Saunders, and Khristian Boyd. They also drafted Texas defensive tackle Vernon Broughton in the third round this Saints ranked an abysmal 31st against the run last year and 30th in overall defense. Staley was brought in to reverse those results. Trading for Davon Godchaux could give the Saints a run-stopping presence in the middle to tie up double-teams and clog inside rushing lanes.
