According to the latest transfer gossip, Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sphelele Mkhulise is currently 'unhappy' at Chloorkop due to a lack of game-time.
Sundowns' talent-stacked first team squad means the Sundowns academy graduate has managed to make just four starts under Miguel Cardoso.
Now, reports suggest Kaizer Chiefs are waiting in the winds to make a move for Mkhulise, who's currently deadlocked in contract talks at Chloorkop.
'Kaizer Chiefs are said to be monitoring Sphelele Mkhulise's situation at Mamelodi Sundowns as they look to add the talented midfielder to their squad ahead of the new season,' a Citizen report read.
'Mkhulise's contract with Sundowns is set to expire in June, but the 29-year-old midfielder has an option of a one-year extension in his deal, which Sundowns are yet to exercise it.'
The publication further claims Mkhulise won't put pen-to-paper on an extension unless he's guaranteed more game-time at Chloorkop.

Sipho Mbule's agent confirms offer to Kaizer Chiefs
Sipho Mbule's name is once again making headlines, this time as his agent, Mike Makaab, confirms that the 27-year-old midfielder has officially been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. Speaking on X (formerly Twitter), Makaab reversed an earlier stance taken in a FARPost article, where he had dismissed reports linking Mbule with a surprise move to Naturena ahead of the 2025/2026 Betway Premiership season. In a sharp clarification, Makaab stated: 'Let me set the record straight. Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. It is up to the club(Kaizer Chiefs) to make the decision and we need to respect that decision.' Mbule's time at Mamelodi Sundowns has come to a premature end. Although his contract technically runs until 30 June 2025, the club decided not to activate a two-year extension clause. According to reports, ongoing concerns about his conduct away from the pitch influenced that decision. Signed in 2022 from SuperSport United, Mbule was once seen as a marquee acquisition for the Brazilians. However, his performances never quite lived up to the hype during his underwhelming stint at Chloorkop. In a bid to rediscover his form, Mbule joined Sekhukhune United on a season-long loan. Under coach Lehlohonolo Seema, he showed early promise, scoring twice and assisting three times in 17 appearances across all competitions. But his return to form was short-lived. Reports emerged that Mbule arrived at training under the influence of alcohol, reigniting the same concerns that plagued his time at Sundowns. Mbule's exit has sparked widespread discussion on social media and among Kaizer Chiefs supporters. Some fans see him as a creative spark the club desperately needs, while others warn that his off-field track record makes him too much of a gamble. Now, with his agent confirming that the ball is in Chiefs' court, the club faces a pivotal decision. Will Kaizer Chiefs take a chance on Sipho Mbule?
