IND vs ENG 4th Test: Yashasvi Jaiswal's acrobatic shot leaves Jofra Archer baffled

India have got off to a solid start in the penultimate Test of the five-match series, thanks to the opening pair of
Yashasvi Jaiswal
and
KL Rahul
. While Rahul showed off his elegance and class in the first session, looking in fine touch, Jaiswal too, kept his nerve and rode out a tricky period.
As the first session came to a close, Jaiswal took centre stage as he acrobatically deflected a rather awkward delivery from England pacer
Jofra Archer
. Viral clips on X show the India batter attempting to dodge a delivery from Archer, bending backwards significantly so that the ball doesn't hit him. While the commentators voiced that Jaiswal's intention was not to play a shot and avoid making contact, it ended up hitting his bat and racing towards the boundary.
While Jaiswal's stunning shot, be it intentional or not, evoked a light-hearted reaction from Archer. The England pacer, who returned to the Test setup in the previous match at Lord's, posted a surprised look on his face as his lethal delivery raced down the ground for a boundary.
While England celebrated the wicket of KL Rahul in the early moments of the second session, Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan will look to build on the opening partnership and help India to a formidable total.
Sudharsan was included in the playing XI at the expense of Karun Nair, who had replaced him earlier after his rather subdued display in the opening Test of the series.
The previous Test saw India come heartbreakingly close to a win, but ended up falling 22 runs short.
Poll
What did you think of Jaiswal's acrobatic shot against Archer?
Pure skill
Lucky mishit
With tweaks to the line-up and desperation among the players to level the series, the penultimate Test will prove to be a fierce encounter, much like the one at Lord's.

Fastest T20I centuries: Where does Tim David stand in the top-10 list?

Tim David (Screengrab) In a record-breaking display of power hitting, Tim David lit up Warner Park in Basseterre with a breathtaking 102 not out off just 37 balls, registering the fastest T20I century ever by an Australian. His innings came during the third T20I against West Indies on Friday, propelling Australia to a six-wicket victory in just 16.1 overs while chasing a stiff 215-run target. David came in at the end of the powerplay and unleashed his full range of shots almost immediately. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! After reaching his half-century in a blistering 16 balls, Australia's fastest T20I fifty, he continued to dominate the West Indies bowlers, especially taking Gudakesh Motie for four consecutive sixes in a 28-run over. His 100 came off 37 deliveries, equalling the likes of India's Abhishek Sharma and Hungary's Sheikh Rasik on the all-time fastest centuries list. This knock surpasses Josh Inglis's 43-ball ton as the fastest ever by an Australian. Among Full Member nations, only David Miller and Rohit Sharma (35 balls) have faster T20I centuries. Poll Should Tim David be considered among the T20I greats after this innings? Definitely! Not yet, needs more consistency. Globally, David's century is the 12th-fastest in T20I history. While names like Sahil Chauhan (27 balls) of Estonia and Muhammad Fahad (29 balls) of Turkey top the list, David's innings was in elite company and against a top-tier opponent, adding weight to his achievement. A maiden T20 hundred, a national record, and a Player of the Match award, all in one evening, cements Tim David's place among the T20I greats.
