A celebratory post is in order for rising Seattle Seahawks star Jaxon Smith-Njigba! The former Buckeye-turned Seahawks Pro Bowler turned 23 years old today, officially entering into his Jordan year.
The Seahawks wide receiver, in his second season in the league, had a career year. JSN built upon his rookie campaign and emerged as a legitimate star in this league in 2024. JSN hauled in 100 receptions (tying Tyler Lockett for most in a single season in Seattle history) for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns.
All were personal best numbers.
I know I speak for all the 12's when I say I for one cannot wait to see what JSN has in store for year three, especially under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

MLS players' union says dispute over Club World Cup compensation is ongoing
Major League Soccer and its players' union remain at odds over compensation for the players with the three MLS teams taking part in the Club World Cup. The Seattle Sounders, LAFC and Inter Miami are the only MLS clubs among the 32 teams playing in the Club World Cup, which starts Saturday. Each team will earn $9.55 million as a club for participating in the tournament, with a chance to win additional prize money based on performance. The Major League Soccer Players Association said Sunday that the league issued a proposal Friday that did not include any additional participation bonuses for the players and offered 'below-standard' back-end compensation. The union also said the league asked for unrelated concessions to the collective bargaining agreement. Currently, there is a provision of the collective bargaining agreement that caps the amount of prize money that can go to players at $1 million. The MLSPA believes the players are entitled to a bigger share of the funds. 'The timing, substance and retaliatory nature of the proposal sends a clear message: MLS does not respect or value players' efforts with regard to this tournament,' the MLSPA said in statement Sunday. 'Although not surprised, the players and the MLSPA are deeply disappointed by this message.' Major League Soccer issued a statement Sunday to clarify its position. 'As the Seattle Sounders FC, Inter Miami CF, and the Los Angeles Football Club prepare to compete in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, Major League Soccer has agreed to voluntarily provide additional performance-based compensation to players from the three participating clubs,' the league said. 'MLS has proposed an enhanced structure for the Club World Cup to reward both participation and competitive achievement in the tournament. In addition to the guaranteed $1 million per team for qualifying, 20 percent of all prize money earned from the group stage onward would be allocated to players. If an MLS club wins the Club World Cup, its players could collectively receive more than $24 million in performance bonuses.' The statement went on to say that MLS owners believe that performance-based incentives are appropriate given the expanded format and increased prize pool for the tournament. 'The League values the continued dedication and commitment of its players and looks forward to supporting them as they represent their clubs -- and Major League Soccer -- on the global stage this summer.' The talks between the two sides were ongoing. Last weekend, the Seattle Sounders called attention to the issue by wearing T-shirts before a match that read 'Club World Cup Ca$h Grab.' On Sunday, a number of players posted the hashtag #FairShareNow, including Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei and LAFC center back Aaron Long. 'The players remain unified in using their collective voice and demanding a fair share of the rewards earned from their hard work,' the union said. Napheesa Collier had 28 points and 10 rebounds, Kayla McBride made six 3-pointers and scored 21 points, and the Minnesota Lynx beat the Dallas Wings 81-65 on Sunday to extend their season-opening win streak to nine games. The Lynx (9-0), who won a WNBA-record 13 consecutive games to open a season in 2016, are off to the fourth-best start in league history. Collier made 10 of 19 from the field, 3 of 6 from 3-point range, and finished with four assists, four steals and three blocks. McBride hit a deep 3-pointer about 2 1/2 minutes into the game to make it 5-2 and the Lynx led the rest of the way. Arike Ogunbowale hit six 3-pointers and led Dallas (1-9) with 26 points and Maddy Siegrist scored 15. Rookie Paige Bueckers (illness) missed her fourth consecutive game. The No. 1 overall selection in April's draft missed the previous three games due the WNBA's concussion protocol but was cleared earlier Sunday. Siegrist made a layup with a second left in the third quarter to cap a 17-4 run that trimmed Dallas' deficit to 57-56 but Collier opened the fourth quarter with a 3-pointer, followed with a mid-range jumper and the Wings got no closer. Natisha Hiedeman hit a 3 with 2:24 to play that pushed Minnesota's lead to 77-62. The Lynx hit 13 pointers, finished with 25 assists on 29 field goals, had 12 steals and committed just six turnovers. The Wings have lost five games in a row. The Lynx play the Storm in Seattle and Dallas hits the road to play at Phoenix on Wednesday.

WATCH: Ohio State fan Denny Hamlin throws up O-H after winning NASCAR race in Michigan Denny Hamlin is an elite NASCAR driver and outspoken Ohio State Buckeyes fan. There are plenty of rumors on the internet and comments in media about why and how his Buckeye fandom started, but it got far more intense this season. After winning his first race of the year this seaon back in March, he waved an "11 Against the World" flag (his car is No.11). Hamlin certainly outdid himself this race, though. He made a late pass for the lead and held on to win his third race of the season (and 57th overall career win) at Michigan International Speedway, in Brooklyn, MI (about 40 miles from the Ohio border). He then threw up an O-H to the stands twice after getting out of his car to celebrate the win. Fans were still cheering, but that moment got some predictable boos. All in all, NASCAR fans still love him, but Buckeye fans will probably love him even more for now. This is not the first time Hamlin has good-naturedly angered crowds when he travels to races. He recently threw a "Horns Down" sign before his race in Michigan a month ago. He finished that race 38th.
